I saw it in action the other day, it's kind of cool not something I need at that price point. It does come with a sticky mat, but you will be able to buy replacements . The woman demoing it warned me that the mat is really sticky and said the 1st time she used it she had to scrape the paper off.

I watched the video Jo Blackford shared. Interesting. Still think its a little pricey.
Lots of possibilities for different techniques with the rotating and layering and stenciling, etc. Love the sticky mat in it.
I think Altenew has done a good job on coming up with an alternative platform since that stinky flower lady robbed us of any more hinged options.
However, for me, lining the plate corners back up every time I stamp looks fiddly, and my fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination suck since I had covid a couple years ago. Seriously, I drop things, have trouble picking things up, texting, selecting on touchscreens, etc. I can see myself getting quickly frustrated. But that is a me issue, not a Stampwheel issue.
Look forward to hearing more reviews.

I thought the same thing about lining the corners up, but when I saw it in person, the corners of the base and the curvature of the plate is so specifically designed that the plate lines up very easily. No guesswork or fiddling.

Hmmmm, I don't NEED this, but I do have a GC to the not-so-LSS that would cover the costs...thinking, thinking, thinking.

The stinky flower lady hasn't gotten to Stampin' Up yet...jus' sayin'.... I’m not sure if she has or has not, but I saw a YouTube video yesterday saying SU was phasing out the Stamparatus —limited to on hand product. I wonder why… ??

I watched this video earlier and she has me almost convinced I need the Stampwheel.

That is one of the reasons I prioritized getting my Stamparatus very promptly!
It was marked "patent pending" so I guess they didn't get it.
Off to see if I can buy more plates and magnets....

Yes, it is on last chance list. Can't buy plates. Would I be crazy to buy a whole new one? It's half the price of the Stampwheel, though the picture changes when you consider you don't need turnabout or wreath builder templates.

I looked into it and I guess SU lost to stinky flower lady in 2021, so they must have lost an appeal recently.
I watched Jaycee's video. The Stampwheel looks to me like it would have some learning curve -- I can imagine wiggling or wobbling the plate on the way down and having issues at least at first.
I'm still seriously tempted to get a second Stamparatus on principle.

At worst you could sell it to a Pea if you find you don't need it in the future! I'm glad that Altenew found a way to make something completely different with no hinge and no possible way You Know Who could go after them. It would be great to be able to test out the Stampwheel in person and see how much desk space it takes, how easy it is to line up, how likely I would be to drop it, etc etc. I don't think it's something I need as long as I have my trusty TH stamping platforms, especially because I don't do layered stamping or turnabouts/wreaths. I really only use my Tims for re-stamping to get a cleaner image or for stamping in bulk, both things I think a hinged platform with a corner will do better.

I have the TH platforms and use them all the time. I also bought the Stamparatus, and like the option to do layered stamping, and the ability to turn the plates.
I don’t have that many turnabout stamps, although I have several layered stamp sets. I really don’t need the new stamp wheel, and I am on a tighter budget than I used to be, but I am seriously tempted to buy it, to support them for their creative alternative for stampers.
It looks like a brilliant stamp platform. And you-know-who can’t sue them or do a thing about her new competition. It was long overdue.

Having been gone from the board for a long while this is the first time I saw the Stampwheel. Looks like a good tool. I have both the regular and smaller TH platforms. Iid be interested otherwise since I would buy a knockoff on Ali before I’d give one penny to the Petunia woman
BTW while I was first reading this thread I guessed the Stampwheel would cost about $100. I was close.

I did exactly the same thing when she went after the Tim Holtz one. I actually have 3. Two big ones and the little one. That woman is relentless.

Well, I'm not sure exactly what is going on, but they are actually going to trial on December 4 this year over this. Is it for the original suit filed by MSP or is it for the counter suit filed by SU or both? No clue, but we'll see, I guess. There has been a lot of back and forth and it is possible SU lost out somewhere.
They aren't dropping the price on the Stamparatus, but then again, it has been a solid $49 USD since coming out on the market. Just like when TH lost, though, I made sure I had back up platforms. So, yes, I went out and bought another Stamparatus just to send a message, haha. So, I have multiple TH platforms and Stamparatus platforms. I will never buy a product of any kind from MSP, because of her hypocritic nature and her greed. And the fact she threatened to sue and destroy ordinary crafters in addition to companies over this mess.
Sorry for the soapbox moment.
The AlteNew platform is intriguing, but I won't buy it for myself. The "hinge" system seems best for me, with my shaky and painful hands. Technically, I'm not sure why anyone considers the TH or Stamparatus hinged when they don't really have hinges.
