What about the clear fridge containers for stamps? Since I think no one has officially claimed those, I'm calling them Happy Stampy Holders, and claiming those as my own!!!! Oh man, if Jennifer McGuire were smarter she would have patented those back in, what, 2013? when she first presented the idea to the world in her organization series. I need to know how Erin Lee is storing her stamps because she just may owe JM some royalties.

Speaking of makeup rip offs, inspired ideas, or whatever, where did this brush holder originate? It looks like it was once a makeup thing. I swear I read about this in another thread, or even on this thread! I'm lacking sleep today. www.instagram.com/reel/CclfP_6r4jx/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

I got mine at Walmart last year when we took our daughter back-to-college shopping. It was with the school supplies on an endcap, and it came with a round textured scrubber (which I've also seen around). I paid $5 for the set in aqua. I should have bought a few more. I love mine, and I use it for holding all my different scissors on my desk. I might substitute some of my brushes, since I'll be working at my desk more, now that the warmer weather is here. (It's near a window, and there's a draft.)

I appreciate the explanations in this thread since her post was so vague.
I don't have a big issue with what she said, her appearance (why would I?), or her products. I will keep buying whenever I come across something I like.

I've read this thread, I've watched a little bit of a couple of the videos linked here, and I'm still not entirely sure who has done what that she's supposedly the voice for. Reading through the comments on her posts it seems pretty obvious there's an inner circle that are in the know, and a lot of other people who don't understand what is going on or who she wants us to boycott. Scoot over. I need to get my booty on that "still don't have a clue" bench. I still don't know who this Erin lady is (and I don't want to after all her moralising preaching on IG), I still don't know which product was allegedly stolen from her since the glossy + holo cardstock have definitely been around for most of her lifetime. And I don't care at this stage. The vague "we can all be better so support my small business, like, right now, kthanksbye" posts are offputting.

They are definitely known in the makeup world. And can be bought for a around $5 on AliExpress if anyone's interested. Just look for "silicone makeup brush holder" (tagging riversong1963).

Edited to add: I refuse to listen to any Instagram post where the person is sitting in their car. Add that pet peeve (unpopular opinion?) to that other post that was going around this week. Yes! Exactly this. For some reason I cannot get over why she felt the need to do this in her car. Does she film specifically in her car when she has something "important" to say? Are we supposed to think that this was weighing on her mind so much that she couldn't wait to get home to post? Sigh. It makes me feel old to be complaining about this. I get it when people film something in their car when it is relevant to the place that they were in their car...but this, I don't get at all. Also, the "look in the mirror" preaching really gets to me. This is definitely not the way to win customers.

I bought one of those marketed toward sewists a few years ago. Seems it has made its rounds and been rebranded many times over.

Could be. Their ink cube holder has been out for a little bit - I was looking at it a week or two ago maybe? I liked it because the spaces were closer together. Funny, I emailed them a while back begging for a 6” T-Ruler and they came out with one. I’d looked for one for ages. Probably nothing to do with md though. On a side note, can you believe how expensive that T-Ruler is? I gasped when I saw the $16.99 price point. Standard acrylic 12" T rulers are $3-$4. I get that this is a specialty item with the card sizes and all, and I would expect there to be a markup, but I would think it would be $9, maybe $10, not $17!!!!LMAO. Completely unrelated to anything important on this thread....the price made me gasp too but then when they mentioned card sized specific guess who clicked buy now? I'm a sucker for a good sales pitch.

I’ve supported some companies since they were very small. I am not going to switch to buying only from new, small companies, just because the companies that I love have gotten to be a bigger small company than hers. They earned my money over time by offering products that I wanted for a price that I was willing to pay. I've been scrapping since 1998. I remember when SB.com only sold like ten stamp sets and SSS was a tiny speck compared to what they are now. I am happy to continue to buy from both of them. This entire discussion is leaving such a bad taste in my mouth (not you guys the complainers) I am so tired of people posting complaints about the big bad wolf retailer vs. the small guy. I understand that starting a small business and keeping it afloat is difficult, but that narrative has got to stop. It becomes cliché when everybody is supposedly suffering but when it comes down to it the people complaining don't have the facts to back it up. Glossy paper? You didn't invent that. Solid plate? Where are your videos educating people on the product (the reason why I, as a consumer, bought the Pinkfresh version)? Rabbit hole tool? I have lipstick brushes, face brushes and even a Tim Holtz blending brush that all would simply need a small tweak to be used just like this tool. I know its too much to expect that crafting could be drama free, but please create drama about a real issue. This is BS.

I don't order a lot from Simon Says, but that's just because their Stamptember pricing and FOMO leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. And that they released a foil plate that doesn't fit either the Glimmer or the Gemini Foilpress (wouldn't bother me so much, but I love the design and I won't buy something that cuts into my platform so it makes me mad that I can't use it!). But SB.com - their shipping charges aren't outrageous, they have great sales on their own items, and the few times that I have had order issues - sometimes my own darn fault issues - they have been a joy to work with. And Pinkfresh actually invented the solid plate and were upfront that if you had the FoilPress, that came with a metal plate already. The Pinkfresh one is just that much better, and like you said, they showed how to use it. Truth be told, I had signed up for emails from Erin because I like the look of some of her things, but this whole kerfluffle makes me not open the emails and not want to order from her. There are too many other places for me to spend my crafty $$.

I’m much more inclined to be loyal to companies that sell what I want and provide good customer service through videos and blogs on ideas of how to use their products (even if they are not my colour/style I can still be inspired) than I am of those that choose to make negative rant videos.
I also respect creators and companies who say “here is my product, paired with this product from another company. They make it well so I don’t see a point in trying to make the same thing or compete with them, I concentrate on my own stuff or niche market or fan base, but here is how you can expand your knowledge/stash/creativity.” This is how I’ve discovered and bought from so many different companies (big and small) over the years as I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole…
For instance, although I’m not an AE fan girl, I have learned to enjoy creating using her kits through watching YouTube videos from lots of creators. I also respect that AE uses her product and that of others like Heidi swapp/Tim holtz etc in her videos and gives them credit for having a product or design she likes that complements her products. No whinging, no whining, no complaining, and bolstering the craft market as a whole as there is space and a market for everyone if you have a good business model and build up your customer base through videos and engagement etc.
I haven’t watched the video this thread is about, but that’s my two cents on the issue 😁

I love how Kerri B uses Heidi’s grid stamp, Heidi uses Tim’s inks, etc. and I also really love when insta influencers/creators use multiple lines and credit them all. There is enough space out there for so many great creative people and also some folks are not going to make it and that is ok too.

I have no integrity I purchase from the place with the cheapest shipping to Australia I hear you Southern Hemisphere sister! I wish they could wrap their head around this aspect of international customers as well… maybe you’d have more customers if shipping charges weren’t $54usd for a sticker sheet. Some of this is on usps but some of this is on you not sourcing a better international shipping rate as ups or usps are easy…
