Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about Fudge. She certainly was a special kitty.

I'm so sorry to read about Fudge. I had a tortie kitty that I brought back from Japan (after I'd lived there for 6 months) who was a Japanese bobtail. This was way back in 1984. She passed away sadly at 6 years of age from cardiomyopathy. They are special cats.

Our sweet furbabies fill our homes and hearts with SO much love and happiness. Hugs to you. xo Thank you, that they do. He showed up at our door 12 years ago after my Dad died. We were feeding him and I told my husband that I thought he wanted to come in so I opened the door and in he walked and plopped down in our kitchen. The rest is history! We have a feral kitty who lived under our bay window when we moved here. He now lives in our screened in back porch in a heated cat house. The day after Bootsie died he came in and looked all around after seeing his body the day before. Tonight we left the door opened and I looked up and there he was. He toured the house and stayed for quite a while until the movement on the TV spooked him. ❤️

He toured the house and stayed for quite a while until the movement on the TV spooked him. ❤️ Oh wow! To me, that's not a coincidence! My special black kitty died suddenly at age 9. He was definitely like a baby to DH and me (I have 2 human children, so this was later in life). 2 months after that special kitty died, we wound up meeting and then promptly adopting this adorable, goofy black kitty. He was entirely different than my other black kitty, but something about him just "called" to me. Thankfully he really helped DH through his chemo. This kitty was SO empathetic and loving, and DH just channeled his fears and illness through the kitty. We deemed him "chemo kitty". He helped him SO much through chemo. I DO think that many pets cross our paths at a perfect time in our lives.
The fact that a feral cat felt that comfortable to walk into your home, says a lot about you and your husband! xo

UPDATE 5/11/22: We went from 5 cats to 2 cats in only 5 months, since DH passed. Now DD and I are very protective of the 2 we have left. One of them is my "chemo kitty", Levon, who now comforts me since DH passed. The other cat is DD's kidney failure 16 yo orange boy. It's been 18 mos since he's on his treatment and has been doing well........ until last night.
He threw up a few times in the middle of the night (never happens with him) and he had loose poop. I was worried about him all day, just thinking that I didn't even remember to take out Fudge's collar yet from her carrier on Saturday. "This is too soon" is all that went through my head.
DD talked to his vet and they said to just keep watching him and bring him in tomorrow. If he seemed "off", she was to contact them. He's THANKFULLY been eating, drinking and acting normal. No other incidences since last night. Not sure what made him feel ill, and we're praying that his kidneys aren't at the final stage right now. Not sure how we could take 1 more death so soon. We'll see how he makes out tomorrow. Hoping he's still at his fighting weight and health.

I have to agree with your way of thinking regarding my cat. I’ll pray that Levon stays healthy and happy! 🐱
