Yep, have had the same issue with WRMK, unfortunately. I've learned to immediately "desticker" albums as soon as I get them. So sorry you're another victim of this!

sleepingbooty - have you noticed if the "leather" easily scratches too? I lightly scratched one with my fingernail and the "leather" came off. These albums are truly garbage if they don't last more than 4 years without damage. If I lived in a humid area (I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area where we hardly ever get humidity or extreme temps) I'd understand but this is ridiculous.

Oh no! That's awful I'm so sorry that happened to your albums. I have several that have spots on the corners and top that have chipped away from me bumping them when I take them on and off the shelf.

Yep, the outer layer of those pleather albums is really aging poorly for me, too. Very annoying (especially to replace those 6x12 ones, ugh). I no longer buy pleather albums now (although my Simple Stories have aged much better). I try to stick to fabric-covered chipboard whenever possible. It's been wildly disappointing. (I live in a dry Northern Mediterranean climate.)

Oh nooooo! 😥
I haven’t had this issue, but I always de sticker everything asap, because it’s always been a compulsion of mine.
I have several WRMK albums and they’ve all been great except the two kiwi ones I have - my earliest ones (circa 2012ish). Those ones are getting sticky, for lack of better description, on the bottom edge, where it rests on the shelf. The leather is deteriorated there, almost like it’s melted. I’m not sure if it’s the age, and my others will eventually do it too, or that color was problematic. I was living in a humid area at the time (and until 2015). We also had a cross country move, where they would have been in a scorching hot moving truck for about two weeks. 🤷🏻♀️

My greige album from the modern colour release they had under the AC umbrella (along with the hot coral) is fine.

Oh no! That is super disappointing--especially since albums are a huge investment. I know when I worked at an LSS we had metallic "leather" WRMK albums and there were huge issues with the stickers either pulling off the metallic finish or leaving a sticker shaped stain/discolouration on the album. I always de-sticker really quickly, but this is a reminder to be extra careful. I never did understand the need for them to put those huge stickers on the albums anyway. I really hope they make this right for you. Keep us posted.

I use Undo on them. Have had this happen on several different brands.

Ugh, that's so infuriating and disappointing. I try to avoid everything made of vinyl or whatever "pleather" or vegan leather actually is. I hate to see things end up in the trash after getting some wear because, unlike real leather, vinyl just disintegrates. And it seems like too hot, too damp, too dry, too anything will ruin them. Not OK. Memory keeping albums by definition should last more than 4 years.

I had a similar issue with those albums (different color, same company & time frame), except it wasn't the sticker, but the albums stuck to the shelf & when I picked them up, the "leather" came off.
I had sent an email at the time & received zero response.

Oh no! I have four of those WeRMemoryKeepers pleather albums for each grandkid packed away until I can fill them. I better check on them now! I will be mad if this happens!

This issue is good to know about. I have been debating on whether to switch from 12 by 12 to 8.5 by 11 or 9 by 12 (12 by 12 albums when full are heavy!) and can not make up my mind. 9 by 12 only seems to come in leather, so I guess that sways my decision towards 8.5 by 11...

Phew. Just ran upstairs and removed the large sticker on a navy blue 8.5x11 album. It came off smoothly.
Thanks for the heads up or I might have left it for a long while.

Oh…I would be so upset by that too! My LSS puts price stickers on patterned paper and I have learned the hard way to remove those ASAP or the paper tears. I do the same with my WRMK albums. So far no issues with the other “leather” issues mentioned. I have dozens…have been using them for well over a decade now. All of mine are black.

I had sent an email at the time & received zero response. I was lucky, they responded and asked for more details and my address. I will be shocked if they actually replace them because I'm honestly not expecting them to do that. I just don't want them putting that sticker on there anymore. I'm sorry you didn't get a response, that's not good at all.

Yes, that has happened to me as well. I'm looking for better alternatives, especially now that I'm moving into more pocket scrapping. My traditional 12X12 layouts are in Creative Memories bookcloth-covered albums. They are fairly expensive, but I started scrapbooking in 1998, and they are still as good as new. I recently bought a 9X12 album from scrapbook.com, and I'm hoping it doesn't fall apart on me.

I've had this problem as well. Mostly with my red albums...I have several shelves with the red remnants stuck to them. I also have a light blue one from very early on that just completely fell apart. Spine came out, rings broke, "leather" disintegrated. That particular album got very little "use" so we didn't do anything to cause the issues.

Thanks for the heads up. I have very few WRMK albums, but mostly CTMH linen PB and a few CM albums which I have purchased in the past year or so.

Good news! They said they will replace them! I'll let you all know when I get them and I will for sure take any stickers off immediately.

I just checked my last two new WRMK albums. One has a paper band and the other has a paper band with stickers on the inside, which I just removed. Whew! I appreciate the heads up.
On a side note, I just tossed my ScrapWorks fake leather album. If you don't remember those, it was like box, every heavy. All the corners were cracking and flaking so it was time for it to go.

I have had sticker issues in the past, but more that the sticker itself comes apart leaving its backing firmly glued to the album. I have been able to slowly soak them off with a cloth and warm water but it’s a nuisance.

That's great!!!
I find there's a certain amount of irony that these stickers are hard to get off when they are meant to but their scrappy stickers need to be glued onto projects.
