I am cleaning out some of my baskets and came across a ton of embossing powders. Like, every color of the rainbow. They are all stored in little baggies (which I hate). Thinking back, I've probably only actually used the gold, white, black, red and MAYBE a turquoise powder.
How about you? Do you use the entire rainbow or just a few select colors?

I'll be honest and say I hardly ever emboss these days, although I recently did some new swatches in the hopes it might motivate me to use them more. I would say 95% of the time I emboss in gold. I have white, clear, and a rose gold type colour that would be my next used powders, but I use them so infrequently I could probably not have them in my stash and still be just fine.

I use clear, white, and gold. I have a glitter one but never use it. I'd rather stamp in color and clear emboss than manage all of the colors. I have only been tempted to add a couple more metallics. I prefer to keep mine in tupperware boxes like Jennifer McGuire - that was a game changer for me.

Same as you mom. Black, white, gold and red. I only have a couple of others including clear but I've never used them.

Zero. I haven't embossed in years. Like about 6 or so years. Just never really enjoyed it.

I have a rainbow of colors and a heat gun and most of the other essentials BUT I have never used any of it. Not ready to get rid of it because someday....

Same here…. Black, white, gold, red and clear. Yet, I probably have 10+ other colors that have never been used. Maybe someday I’ll use them…. Not ready to donate those YET.

Red and gold. I only think about embossing during December Daily.

I use white the most, then gold. I really need to start using these more, I have a ton of colours. I think they're so pretty.

I have a ton, but to be honest, don’t use many. All the metallics—gold, silver, copper—red, black, clear detail, white. Occasionally blue, green, yellow. But I keep them “just in case”. Mine are all in bottles and jars, though. Don’t know how I would work with them in baggies.

I answered never. I keep thinking I need to use them. I like the look.

I join the "boring" squad: clear, white, gold, silver, rose gold and a peachy metallic-adjacent shade. It's all I have, too. I always think hard and long before buying an embossing powder to make sure I'll get enough use out of it.
I'll never be a rainbow embosser and I've embraced that.

none - I tried embossing years ago -had a small collection of embossing powders (in little baggies because of swaps) and ended up getting rid of it all probably 10 or more years ago. I wasn't stamping much and my embossing never seemed to come out as evenly as I hoped.
I've considering trying again but haven't made the leap

I dont know who I let talk me into doing that but I sincerely regret it.

I mostly use white, clear, gold, silver.
I do own black, but recently I've been stamping in Versafine or VersaClaire and embossing in clear. The stray black specs, even when using a powder tool, drive me batty. If I need another color then I stamp in Oxide and emboss in clear.

I have just the basics; white, black, cold, copper, and silver. I don't see myself needing any others.

I use mostly the metallic colors plus white and clear. I do have lots of colors and some special ones like: glow in the dark, puffy, sticky and sand looking ones.
Last year for CARDtober my challenges included heat embossing and fun ideas, like use water to emboss with...would be great for splatter on LO and that you can use a pen to journal and you can quickly emboss it. There was a couple more ideas.

Mostly used in my December Daily album each year. White, black, red, green, gold, silver, copper, and my favorite this past year to use was a white mixture with specks of green and red.

White, black, clear, gold, silver and glow on the dark (which I’ve never used but just had to have a couple years ago).

Black, white, clear, antique gold, and antique silver are the ones I tend to use when heat embossing. Occasionally I will use UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel). I have other colors, one of which I have used recently, but it really depends on the project.

Since I exclusively incorporate stamping into scrapping (e.g. words, labels, icons), I prefer Ranger Super Fine Detail EP. Of the six available Super Fine Detail colors, I regularly use clear, white, & black & occasionally silver, copper, & gold metallics. I also have a few Zing EPs in non-neutral colors (bought on deep clearance at a big box store years ago) that I rarely use.

i haven’t made cards for a while (injury) but used quite a few embossing powder colors and sometimes mixed colors. It was rare not to use it on a card for sentiments or even images.
Learning to stamp in an LSS class, the owner taught me to heat emboss. (I was the only student.) She said that’s when the angels sang for many new stampers, and they sure did. It still gives me a little thrill.
I’m surprised so many listed black as often used, since black was known as not being so hot (no pun intended) for crisp, fine embossing. Most card makers (on line, in-person classes, at my LSS) used clear over black ink until recently and some still do. I tossed my black until Brutus Monroe came out with a black that works well. Maybe there are others now.
Clear and white are in plastic snap boxes as most used but the rest are in their jars with a heat embossed circle a little smaller than the lid stuck on. Most used are white, clear, metallics—rose gold, gold, copper, silver. Ranger, Hero Arts, Wow, Brutus Monroe, a couple others.

I have an entire Alex drawer full of colors I’ve accumulated over the years and I considered getting rid of them until I ran across an old Jennifer McGuire video. She used a stencil, texture paste and embossing powder. Apply the paste, sprinkle on the embossing powder, let dry and heat set. I’ve used this idea for card backgrounds and have done it then used a die to cut out a portion as an accent piece on a card.

Black, white, and clear. Although I own a ton. I bought a bunch of Emerald Creek powders. They are mixes that look very cool if you melt them on chipboard but are too chunky for sentiments. I also bought a dozen Tim Holtz distress ones at a scrappy garage sale that I haven’t tried.

I have a new neon pink and neon green that came in a kit, and didn't have a clue how I would use them. I can totally see polka dot backgrounds done this way!
