I currently have mine in a couple of different organizers, but they don't really work well in any of them. Most of the everyday ones are in an old Longaberger basket with a tiered divider that's meant to be used as a desktop organizer. It worked OK (just OK, not great) for a while, but the card bases and envelopes are now spilling out of it because I've pulled from multiple packs (different sizes) so they're even more disorganized. They never did really fit well in that organizer, but I couldn't find anything better that I could re-purpose from existing organizers. In addition, the 3-drawer cart I have the basket sitting on is about to be replaced with a different storage cart that doesn't have room on top for the basket. My Christmas card bases are stored separately in a divided file organizer, something like THIS. That works OK. My postcard/flat style cards are in a separate box with their envelopes. Ideally, I'd like to find a storage solution that works for all of my card bases & envelopes, but at this point I'll be happy to find a solution for just the everyday ones, since that is my most immediate need. Please show me what ya got! Any and all ideas (& photos!) welcome! TIA. I know I'll be happier when I'm done reorganizing my scrap room & entire storage closet, but the process itself is sort of taxing, like putting together a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces are all from different puzzles or something. (How's that for a fun visual?) ETA: THIS is what my everyday card bases & envelopes are currently stored in. I'd love to re-purpose that for something else, not necessarily craft-related. (Although looking at the price on eBay, maybe I should just sell it, LOL. ) UPDATE: Scroll to end of thread for my solution & pictures

My dad made me some wooden boxes, this one just perfect for my card bases. If you need dimensions I can measure it tonight for you. http://instagr.am/p/CNsqeaxpu-t There are a million little reasons why I need a man (father/son/friend) in my life. Building simple stuff like this is reason one million and one. I've been using these Kuggis boxes in various sizes for crafting supplies for years. With a simple clear label from my 15 YO labelmaker on them. I love the clean look of white containers, but I know it's not everyone's jam. The newer (7x10x6) size is what I'm currently using for completed cards. The one that's double that size (10x13.75x6) would also work with a divider in it. I love how the Kuggis boxes in the various sizes all sit inside the others' lids.

I use Kuggis boxes, too, they're so sleek. I use them with or without lids, depending on if I need easy access or not.

I re-use the cardboard boxes my bulk envelopes are shipped in from ClearBags. They’re exactly the right size for A2 envelopes, of course. I usually leave the lids off and use the lids as trays for other storage. In my drawers I have the boxes sideways and they fit scored card bases and half sheets of cardstock, although if I do a top folding card base I have to fold those to fit in the boxes. I made dividers out of backing sheets from 6” paper pads with little self adhesive tabs on them.

Thanks, all! The comments about storing them in boxes (especially the Ikea ones) made me realize I already have 2 boxes from Ikea that would work. One of them was already in use with some 6x6 & mini-album stuff in it, so I moved the mini-album stuff to a bin with where I store other odd-sized projects/paper and repurposed the box. Card bases & envelopes fit perfectly in it. The matching box was sitting under my desk unused (yes, I had forgotten I had it, LOL & DUH), so I used one for A2 and one for smaller/misc. card bases. I used cardboard packaging saved for that purpose to make dividers and labeled them with post-it tabs. Card Bases2 by Wendy M, on Flickr Card Bases1 by Wendy M, on Flickr Sometimes I just need a nudge in the right direction! Seeing the boxes others had used really helped. azcrafty, I'm envious of your custom boxes! It also helped when I realized (in another big DUH moment ) that I could store them easily in a box if I FOLDED the card bases instead of keeping them flat.

I'm glad you found a solution and it didn't cost you anything. Double win! I do the same as joblackford and reuse the boxes my envelopes come in. A friend was helping me organize and moved all my envelopes into another box (why???) and was going to toss the boxes! The horror!

It’s a newer size, and I only bought 2 of them when I was in last month. I could use several more of them for various things. They also discontinued another size that I found very useful 🤷🏼♀️ What’s a girl to do.

MichyM - I only got two as well but I'm going to measure a few other things and see if they would work for those as well and if so, add to our next trip's list (won't be for a while)

A friend was helping me organize and moved all my envelopes into another box (why???) and was going to toss the boxes! The horror! See, none of mine come in boxes - they're all just in plastic sealed packaging, so I didn't automatically think of "hey I could put them in boxes if I folded them all"... Anyway, I'm glad you were able to salvage your boxes, and I'm very thankful for a no-cost solution!

scrappinwithoutpeas I like your boxes. You said they hold 6x6? If so, I would use the same boxes for 6x6 and card bases for a more unified look. Do you remember what your boxes are called?

scrappinwithoutpeas I like your boxes. You said they hold 6x6? If so, I would use the same boxes for 6x6 and card bases for a more unified look. Do you remember what your boxes are called? I should clarify - I had my 6x6 loose papers and mini-book supplies on their side laying down flat in one of these boxes - not standing upright. The boxes are about 8"W x 10"L x 5.5"D so 6x6 paper pads would stick up about a half inch if stored upright. (I have different containers from Thirty-One for my 6x6 pads.) You could still store 6x6 pads that way and just leave the lids off the boxes obviously, though that's probably not what you want... I don't see these boxes on the IKEA website currently - I do not remember the name. They've probably been discontinued by now since I bought them several years ago (maybe ~4-5 years?). However, IKEA now shows some other options that look like they would work for you (including the Kuggis that someone else mentioned above). Look HERE for the search results for "storage boxes with lids". Hope this helps. ETA: Looking at the IKEA options, I think my boxes were a previous version of KVARNVIK or maybe TJENA. The dimensions have changed and the newer boxes are larger.

Did you get the Elvis ones? Ha. I like a uniform look for boxes but the tie-die version looks pretty neat. They have a bunch of different sizes. Which did you get?

I just watched the Jennifer McGuire 2020 video about yardsticks and saw how she organizes her card bases, so I've been thinking about this. Also doing some general reorganization of my space with the influx of new tools from the holiday. It occurs to me that Scrapbook.com's storage bins www.scrapbook.com/store/sbc-storage-4983.html look just right for storing card bases and card panels with their lids on (6" wide by 4 3/4" tall), but none of the dividers they sell fit in them with the lid on. I find myself pondering whether it would be cheaper and easier to buy their dividers and cut them down or make my own. Most of the card bases with matching envelopes I bought years ago are in the pile to be quickly crafted and donated. My own card bases I've been using plain white envelopes from the big box craft stores, so I wouldn't bother storing the envelopes together with the bases. I wonder if there's a thread about envelopes....

I have my envelops in two fridge bins. Sorted by color and size. I keep them in a drawer in a dresser that’s in my craft room closet.
I don’t pre-cut card bases. I do have a smaller Alex unit as the base of one end of my crafting desk. I keep half sheets of Neenah and random card fronts of Neenah in there…leftovers from making card bases.
I’ve found I don’t like stacking storage as I don’t like having to lift things off to get to the lower bins.

I do pre-cut my bases. I love to just pull them out as I need them, especially if a make my SLoC cards it just speeds the making up. I keep them in this wooden box made by my dad. It just works perfectly. http://instagram.com/p/CNsqeaxpu-t
