All this wedding stuff is new to me. I have no idea who walks me down. Can I have my uncle do it. My father, my daughters grandfather doesn’t speak to us. My husband will obviously be busy . My son in law will already be at the alter. Or do I walk by myself? Or do I have my father in law do it?

you can walk by yourself, or more common, if not a relative, have an usher walk you down the aisle, or a groomsman..who can walk back to go to his place.

I went to a wedding last night, so it’s fresh in my mind. The bride’s brother who was also a groomsman walked his mom down the aisle, then the groom walked his mom down, then a cousin groomsman walked a grandmother down. They all went back “stage” and came out as a group with the priest after and then the bridal party processed.

My sister in law was walked down at her daughter’s wedding by her son who was in the wedding. |

Yes, usually a groomsman walks the moms down the aisle. And then after all the key people are seated, the groom and his groomsmen come out together to stand at the front.

We usually see ushers walk the bride's mom. Often it's a close relative. My cousin (my mom's nephew) was an usher who walked my mom down the aisle at my wedding.
I think you can have whoever you want do it!

In my religion both parents escort the bride down the aisle and give her to the groom. It's a nice tradition.

The ushers seat the guests. Second to last is the groom's mother and last is the bride's mother.

I have been to two weddings this year. In each, one of the groomsmen walked the mothers to their seats.

My ex walked both his mom and mine down separately. DH and I eloped in a park with select people and no seating so no aisle to walk. No one escorted anyone.
In other weddings I've attended, the groom or best man escorted the mothers to their seats.

I walked in with my dad. We hadn't really given it much thought until beforehand when they were talking about seating grandparents. I had no connections to any of the ushers or groomsmen. It felt right to walk in with my own dad.

At Jewish weddings generally both parents walk the bride down the aisle, which, personally, I think is really nice.

Both my parents walked me down the aisle. I figured they both raised me, they both walk! I liked it! DH's parents did the same.

Usually the ushers seat the MOB before the ceremony starts. However, it's becoming more and more common here for the bride to have both of her parents walk her down the aisle.

My dad passed away before I got married so my mom walked me down herself. I sure didn’t want my loser oldest brother filling that role! I like the idea of both parents walking the bride down the aisle. If they both raised her, they should both get the honor.

A groomsman can walk you down, or anyone can do it really. I had both my mom and my dad walk me down the aisle when I got married, though.

Usually it is a groomsmen and the one who is closest to the bride's family such as the bride's brother or a cousin on that side. I'm not sure I've ever seen a mother walk in alone. Why can't your husband walk you down and then go back for the bride? The bridesmaids will be proceeding in between all this. It isn't tradition but I don't see anything wrong with it.

I've been to three weddings lately. In two of them (one was a Jewish wedding) both parents walked the bride down the aisle. I love that. In the third, the bride's brother walked his mother down. You can do whatever feels comfortable to you and your daughter -- there is no wrong answer here.

My mom walked halfway by herself and then stopped. Then my dad and I walked in to meet her, she took my arm and the three of us walked the rest of the way together. Do what you want. There are no rules.

My DH walked me down the aisle, then went back and when it was time, walked our DD down the aisle. It was an outdoor wedding, and the way it was set up, that worked out. If he couldn't have, I would have gotten a groomsman to walk me down I guess.
