Ok, maybe not *just* to scrap it or use supplies. But maybe it was a big part of the appeal! Recently I attended a couple of events that were inspired by some scrapbook products I wanted to use. I ended up having fun at both and was really glad I went, but must admit, as an introvert, the thought of using my supplies was a bigger draw at the time over the activity! Lol One was a 3x4 card from Paper Person I’ve had for a while about a cheese board - there was an opportunity for a “cheese board and board game” night and I was like - oh, I could finally use that card! Hahah. And it turned out to be so fun so I’m really glad I went. Another was a book club stamp. An opportunity to join a hybrid online/in person book club presented itself and I am enjoying that - and I can finally use that stamp! I Admit using the stamp was the instigator here as well. How about you? Anything you’ve done that was inspired by getting to use some supplies?

I’m using PL cards to make quick thank you notes for my trip to Disney. I will never totally use them up (unless I scrapbook for a million years). I think I might make some to keep at school for thank you notes and birthdays. Hmm…now I’m thinking!

Did I start going to Starbucks for a holiday drink every December just because of the little red cup die-cuts in scrapbook collections? Why, yes, yes, I did. I kind of love this expansion of one's horizon purely for scrappy purposes. I know some people complain it's fake but if you did the thing just so you could document using particular products, you still did the thing! It counts. It's totally fine by me anyway. Seems more like inspiration for extra memories than pretending or living a life that isn't "really" yours.

I love reading, but will admit to joining Goodreads specifically for the end of year stats if you do the annual reading challenge. I love to scrap how many pages I read!
We have had some rainy weather, and I fully intend to put on my rain boots for a photo op this evening so that I can use the rain boots sticker in Simple Stories Full Bloom.
I will also admit to dressing in certain outfits to match scrapbook collections.

I purchased a dozen 14 x 18 cafeteria style trays. This has made me scrapbook more, because I have whatever I am working on right on a tray....so all I have to do is move the tray off my dining table.
My dining table is multi-functional. I use it for eating, scrapbooking, journaling, working on projects, paperwork, etc... Having to clean up, pick up, move, etc... my scrapbooking stuff every time I was done....was tedious and time consuming. Now I just have to move one tray. I have a cart where the some of the other trays sit, and I roll that over to my table, so I can actually work on multiple layouts at the same time. Makes cleaning off the table so much easier and faster, and that inspires me scrapbook more, therefore using my supplies.

I Admit using the stamp was the instigator here as well. I like this idea. There's an online book club through my state's library e-book lending system.

I wish it were my idea, but I borrowed the idea/saw a similar version, and came up with what works for me.

When I first got my Cricut I saw a huge stuffed frog that looked like the frog on the Create A Critter cartridge. I bought the frog for my daughter for Valentine's Day so I could make a "Hoppy Valentine's Day" layout (*groan* yes I am corny).
Recently I got Boba tea with my daughter (it's not really my thing) so I could take some pictures to use some cute bubble tea scrapbook stuff.
One of the positive things about scrapbooking is I am always aware of what is in the background of my pictures. I sometimes laugh to myself when I see a friend post a picture in the kitchen and you see dishes and clutter in the background. It's not that I am a neat freak, I just always am aware of what is in the background so I don't show my mess.

Not so much to intentionally use specific scrapbooking supplies but to make sure my photos would match colors generally associated with a particular theme.
When my kids were preschoolers we were getting ready to go strawberry picking so I told them to choose outfits with red and/or green (so they wouldn’t wear pink/purple/etc and clash with my scrapbooking vision.) They happily picked matching clothes and I happily created a lovely page with red and green.
Fast forward a few months to a snowy day in December when I once again requested outfits in red and green. One of the kids was puzzled and asked why we were going picking strawberries in the winter lol. We were actually going to a friend’s place to decorate gingerbread houses.

I just told my granddaughter on our long road trip starting next week I need to get a picture of her with the mississippi river. I have the perfect scrapbook element for that picture. Found the perfect spot to do that on a bridge connecting Tennessee and Arkansas where you can stand for pictures.(Big River Crossing.)

When we were planning our 50th anniversary family gathering in 2018 in Orlando, I excitedly purchased Harry Potter themed papers b/c I was SURE the kids would want to go to Harry Potter World at Universal. But Disney snagged them all for the whole week, and has snagged all other visits since, so sadly my PLAN to have an event work with my specialized pp did NOT work. I confess to buying 2 giant flamingo blow-up swim toys for my grandchildren so I could use my flamingo papers. I didn't buy the flamingo floaties, but was ecstatic when my ddil sent me pic's of the girls on them on the lake b/c that meant I COULD use that flamingo pp! I just told my granddaughter on our long road trip starting next week I need to get a picture of her with the mississippi river. I have the perfect scrapbook element for that picture. Found the perfect spot to do that on a bridge connecting Tennessee and Arkansas where you can stand for pictures.(Big River Crossing.) That is cool! I have taken shots of the dgk's several times just so I can use some of those themed supplies! "Hey, I need you in rubber boots in a PUDDLE!"

I lucked into them at Tuesday Morning, so not a huge expense. I got a giant flamingo at TM also. It was 50% off at then end of the season so I bought a giant chick float too. I had my flamingo stickers/ephemera in mind. But I wanted the float with or without the SB supplies. ************************************************* Several years back I was going to Hawaii with my dad and his wife, and I made sure to take only bright/light summer colored clothes. We were going in December. My dad's wife asked me to pick out some tops for her, so all of the options I brought her to pick from were only summer colors, too. LOL I did not pick out my dad's clothes, but I did tell him, nothing dark and or dreary.

I've been low on photos, so this weekend I went to my city's conservatory and took a ton of plant/flower photos and lots of selfies. It kills two birds with one stone because I have way over-purchased Simple Vintage Botanical and Garden District so it's a great excuse to make a dent in some of those supplies!

I can’t believe I’m going to admit this, but I’ve done the reverse. I bought the scrapbook papers, embellishments... for Paris so I would finally go there. It was the last trip I took before covid. Friends kept asking if I really intended to go and I kept saying, “Of course. I already bought the scrapbooking paper! Perfectly logical to my way of thinking. Not so much to them. I’ve got so many leftovers that I’m thinking of going again this fall. Hoping I don’t get priced out by the airfares.

When I was at a scrap convention, there was a vendor with all kinds of place-specific travel papers. I told my friend I should make a bucket list scrapbook based on the places I want to go and add the photos "someday"!

I scheduled an outdoor family photo shoot with my husbands family in the fall, just so I could use some of my beautiful fall papers.

I purchased a US-themed album, and papers with each state name on them. I put together the album with the papers and as I get to each state I am putting the photos in.

I am currently (and have been) collecting papers and embellishments for a big camping trip we hope to take. We have been talking about it for a long time, and hopefully it will finally happen next year. And honestly, I don't think it is weird at all. With scrapbooking collections coming out so frequently, sometimes you just see the perfect paper and need to grab it. Especially with how recycled new collections can feel. When a unique travel line with potential pops up, I will grab it. Photoplay's National Park themed kits come to mind, for example. I also just finished a layout with no photos for it whatsoever. I thought of a design, became excited to create it, then just made it. Maybe I will take photos for it this weekend!

In my early days of scrapping...I had a friend that enjoyed it too (It was nice to have a scrapping buddy - sadly, she moved away several years ago and quit scrap booking).
We were shopping in a scrapbook store (this is when there were about 10 in town - it was awesome) and we found the cutest paper, die cuts and stickers related to a car wash. We bought them and that weekend, we washed our cars together and took photos just so we could use the supplies we had bought
