I cut photos into shapes. WTH was I thinking!? 🥲 I saved way too much memorabilia. I need to throw away or scan items and put it all on one page. I tried doing one of those wonder pages with a photo of my daughter and son when they were little. Cringe, cringe, cringe! I'm sure there's a lot more. I've been scrapping since 1995.

My only real regret is not being in more photos when I was younger. This is my only regret too. When I look back at my photos, everyone is there except me. And a slight annoyance to this, is that no one ever offered (or insisted) on taking pictures with me included. My DH is a lousy photo taker, but not everyone in the photo(s) was.

I regret not printing photos when everything went digital. Now it’s an overwhelming task. Sometimes it’s just easier to go look through them and print the ones that fit with what I want to do.

I do have some regrets about products I have purchased and some I did not purchase, but I'm over it. I agree with a lot of you, in that my past work shows my path in my hobby. I wouldn't change a thing.

I was going to say I don't have regrets - scrapbooking ia a journey....but I do have ONE regret...when I started I used scrapbooking glue sticks, I did switch fairly quickly to photo squares but those early layouts? the gluestick hasn't lasted well

I never did any crazy trend like cutting my photos into cute shapes, etc. My biggest regret is wasting so much money on products/techniques that just weren't my style and I never used. Remember foam letters and paint? Yeah I used them maybe once. There are way too many other examples and I know scrapbooking has been a journey, but I do look back and feel sick about the wasted money.

I don’t mind the photos in shapes too much, although I wouldn’t do it now. I do regret back in my CM phase of scrapping directly on the pages. It’s mad moving things around those albums difficult…but then I wouldn’t have thought I’d want to!

I regret using those clear plastic/acrylic embellishments that looked like big drops of water - they are all SO YELLOW now. This is my major regret. I LOVED the way those looked when they were new. Now? Not so much. And to make it even worse, some have "warped" and are peeling up at the edges. I do need to fix some pages to remove these. I also regret not adding my journaling right away. I have a lot of older pages with no journaling because I forgot what I wanted to say LOL. Maybe I'll just tell my kids I was in my "Carl the dog" phase where the pictures are the story. Or one of those "write your own adventure" deals. (BTW, my kids will think the Carl comment is hilarious coming from me. They know that I hated those books with a passion! Who leaves their baby with just a dog to babysit for long periods of time? LOL)

I do have some pages that look crazy (sticker sneeze), but I am going to leave them alone. As long as the story is there the layouts show my story as a scrapbooker. The only thing I've done is fix anything that was coming off the page and I did re-do our wedding album. It was an expensive Hallmark album which fell apart. This is exactly why I got into scrapbooking! We were given a Hallmark album when we got married in 1984, and it definitely was not acid-free. The photos lost a lot of their color, and the pages turned yellow. I started looking into Creative Memories products around 1998, and I re-created our wedding album. I stayed with mainly CM products for awhile, along with a few things from Michael's. Later on, I learned about the wonderful world of Two Peas, Scrapbook.com, etc. I also joined a few kit clubs. I'm not sure I really have too many regrets. I bought a few things that I ended up not using, but they were part of my discovery process. My style has changed quite a bit, but it's all been part of the journey. My only regret really doesn't have anything to do with putting pages together. If I could do anything over again, it would be to take more pictures with me in them.

I've re-done tons of pages since I changed to digital. I can't stand looking at my early CM pages, and I would be too embarrassed to let anyone else see them.
My biggest regret is cutting my photos into stupid shapes when I first starting scrapping with CM, and cutting out just the person, removing the whole background. UGH. I haven't been able to re-scrap a lot of my DD's baby and toddler photos, because I had a film camera back then, and the photos are ruined by excessive cropping. I'm sure I have the negatives somewhere, but I don't know where. And it's no doubt going to cost a lot to get them reprinted.
I have tried scanning the negatives that I did find, with a home negative scanner, but I am not at all happy with the quality. There was a business just near my old office in the city, where you could pay $60 up front and have use of their professional negative scanners for one month. But before I got a chance to use it, they moved, and their new building is too far away.

Carl was one of our favourites when my kids were small - I'm pretty sure we still have a couple tucked away somewhere (no, I don't have a basket of board books under the guest bed...why do you ask?lol)

I regret taking apart a photo album I made at the height of the digi cam era around 2007. I remember it like it was yesterday: 3 horizontal 4x6in pics on each side. I spent many a day whipping out my Kodak Easy share printer and curating each set of 3 pics in that maroon velvet Walmart album. No clue why I dismantled it. I think about it often.
