Good morning, tribe! What good news we received yesterday afternoon that scrapmaven ’s surgery was a success! Continued prayers for her recovery! quiltz I hope you get your appetite back soon. Today’s question is about Instant Pots and Air Fryers. I bought an IP over 3 years ago. Still in the box. I need to get it out and at least use it as a slow cooker. I had high hopes for the Air Fryer but really only use it for chicken thighs which are delicious. I tried fish once but it smelled the house up for days. How about y’all? Dinner tonight will be that wonderful salad with mixed greens, grilled chicken, strawberries, sugar snaps, mandarin oranges, bleu cheese crumbles & honey roasted pecans with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Perfect for this 100 degree weather! What’s on your menu?

Good morning. Very happy to hear about scrapmaven. I bought an IP and returned it without ever using it. I just didn’t want to deal with another appliance. My dd has one and loves it though and bought one for her sister for Christmas since she loves it so much. I think that dd has only used it twice though. I do have an airfryer but I don’t use it much. It’s ok for fries and I’ve made good wings in it. I made chicken breast that was dry and terrible. I need to try and use it more since people seem to love them. Dinner tonight is some type of salad. Dh asked if we could have salad a couple times this week and it’s so quick and easy and I love salad so of course.

I had high hopes for the Air Fryer but really only use it for chicken thighs which are delicious. I tried fish once but it smelled the house up for days. How about y’all? I don't have an IP, but I do have the Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven. It was a gift from my dad. I admit I haven't really stretched the legs of my air fryer. I like to use it for little potato chunks and brussels sprouts. I made steak bites in it once that weren't too bad either. Morning! I was up at 5 am - so expect to crash at 3! I wake up at 5 every single day. But I admit, I'm worthless after 7 pm and I'm usually fast asleep by 9 pm. I'm having a good day today. Just working on more spend plan reviews. I've had a bit of computer trouble this morning, just problems opening a program. So it's been slow going for me. We ended up with Culver's last night so I didn't cook the steak tacos/stir fry. So that will be for dinner tonight. I'm hoping scrapmaven is on the road to a quick recovery.

Good morning! So glad to hear Scrapmaven is doing well, continue with the healing sister! Last night DD and I went to see Downton Abbey at the movies. OMG so sweet, go see it if you liked the series, you won't be disappointed! I have an IP and a Ninja Foodie with is an airfryer and a pressure cooker in one. I've used my Instant Pot heavily over the years and its dinged up and well loved. I make: chuck roasts in the pressure cooker. Bean soups, chicken dishes but thighs only. I've made meat sauce. Steam veggies in the air fryer I: roast chiles and tomatoes for my salsa, all manner of frozen dishes like tots french fries and onion rings. The ninja is nice because I'll two step cook things like chicken adobo, pressure cook them first and finish off with the air fryer lid to crisp and brown the skin. I make a whole cauliflower head by steaming first and then air frying the top. The recipe I use I cross cut halfway through the crown and pour in some EVOO, crushed garlic, parmesan, capers and some red chili flakes. Its amazing. I got the recipe from the Ninja cookbook and its my favorite recipe. The Ninja also makes a great roast chicken. Roast it first (I have the 8 quart) and then finish with the air fryer lid to crisp and brown. I love that I don't have to heat the kitchen with the full oven this time of year so it gets used heavily. The only thing I won't cook in it is chicken breasts, as paget experienced, its too easy to dry them out in the pc so I don't bother. Thighs come out great because they are fattier. Dinner tonight is going to be low carb, I'm thinking salad based bowls. I've got romaine and Costco roast chicken that I need to break down today. OH, thought of another favorite use for the PC. I like to take the cold CC roast chicken out of the fridge and put it in the Instant Pot on the trivet with some water at the bottom and hit the 'steam' button. It revives the chicken again like I just bought it. Then I take it out and let it cool enough to easily break it all down to portion it in vacuum freezer bags.

Morning ladies! So glad to see the good news about scrapmaven yesterday evening! Never had an IP. I won an air fryer on Instagram 2 years ago. I do like it and it’s easy to use. One of my fave things to do in it is steaks. They come out perfect and juicy. Buuuuut it’s huge and I don’t have room for it on my kitchen counters. So I have to keep it in the garage till I plan to use it and that alone deters me from ever really using it. Dinner tonight is a cold chicken pasta salad. One of those throw everything in things. It’s in the 100s here and anything hot or too involved just doesn’t sound good. I’m at that phase of the summer where I’m ready to live on watermelon and ice tea.

Good evening.
Our interview last night went well and we ill hear about whether we get the apartment by the weekend. From the conversation we had, I think there are a couple of things that are in our favour, but maybe also some that work against us.
I have neither an air fryer or an IP, and I don't really have the bench or cupboard space for many appliances. That may change in our next apartment, but I am mainly looking at getting a rice cooker if I get anything. I might get a multi-function one though.
Dinner tonight is just me - DH is out for a farewell for a work colleague. I went into the city this morning looking for a couple of things, and stopped at a favourite deli and bought a slice of zucchini and goat's cheese quiche which will be my dinner.

I am glad to hear that scrapmaven's surgery went well. Keeping her in prayers.
I don't have an IP but I did buy myself an air fryer. Haven't used it yet but hoping to cook healthier with it.
I'm running out of ideas for dinner and would love some ideas. It's hard being in this low carb. no sugar diet. Doctor recommends to stick to protein, veggies and healthy fats only.
For dinner we are having what my aunt calls Ground beef and green bean skillet Mexican style.

Good Morning! So happy we have one of our tribe members on the mend.
I’ve never had an air fryer or IP. I’m not interested in another appliance. I have a friend that has a long commute to/from work and she swears by the IP.
I have no idea what to fix for dinner. I’m in a rut cooking wise. I need to lose weight so I have been very conscious about what I am cooking. My problem is there are too many people in my house that I am cooking for that are picky eaters. DH needs to lose some weight as well. I can’t get him on board regarding changing his eating habits. I need to stop worrying about what DS, DIL and four grandkids will eat but that’s easier said than done…

prayers for scrapmavenno IP but I do have an air fryer - I bought when we were still at the other house without a stove/oven and it did give me more options then. Here? We don't use it as much - it's great for re-heating leftovers - better than the microwave for stuff like pizza or onion rings. I love it for sausages and hot dogs (but we don't grill). I wouldn't buy it again today but it was worth the expense when we bought it. dinner tonight is hot dogs and baked beans

I made lemon ricotta pasta (with chickpea pasta) last night and it was a hit with everyone. I also think it would be very easy to add stuff like asparagus, or spinach or whatever. hi protein. it is on site budgetbytes
I don't have ip or airfryer. I have a small kitchen and no room for anything that big. I don't mind cooking the old fashioned way.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having splendid days! So far things here are good.
Dinner tonight could be anything. Last night’s chicken was amazing. I could not believe it was keto.
Tonight I would like steak and Caesar salad but Father is home and he will veto that I am sure.

We are going to have hamburgers and tater tots.
The tater tots will be cooked in the air fryer. We use the air fryer a lot more than the instant pot.

I am so happy to hear scrapmaven 's surgery was a success! Continued healing prayers and thoughts to her. I have an IP and I mainly use it for making hard boiled eggs! I have tried many things in it and all have been good. The cheese cake I made in it was delicious. But someone threw away the bottom of my springform pan I haven't gotten a new pan yet...I should do that now! Not sure for dinner. A salad sounds good but I know SO won't think that is a meal and I don't want to heat up the house. How about I cook something in the IP? Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs jeremysgirl !!

Hi Everyone, scrapmaven I am sending healing thoughts and prayers to you, my dear friend! cadoodlebug Your dinner sounds delicious. I love the meme. I have both an IP and AF. I love the IP to make chicken that I can shred for tacos, burritos or salads. My YDS uses the AF all the time for fries, chicken wings, reheating egg rolls, it makes them crunchy. jeremysgirl Happy Anniversary! oh yvonne I am so glad that you and your beautiful daughter enjoyed the movie. PolarGreen12 That is hot! I love watermelon and sweet tea. sueg I am really hoping that you get the apartment. How soon would you move? bklyngal62 What is in the ground beef and green bean skillet dish? Delta Dawn I hope that your Dad lets you make what you want for dinner. scrappert I am intrigued about the hard boiled eggs. What setting do you put it on? Today has been a busy day for me. I went to the gym and met with a trainer to get started on my workout on the machines. I took a stretching class. Then I went to the grocery store to pick up a birthday cake for my little neighbor who turned 85 yesterday for tonight. Next was off to the chiropractor. Tonight I am going out to dinner and then playing Mexican train with my friends. The guys are on their own for dinner. I hope that all of you have a peaceful day!

I'm running out of ideas for dinner and would love some ideas. It's hard being in this low carb. no sugar diet. Doctor recommends to stick to protein, veggies and healthy fats only. This is pretty much the way I eat most of the time, although my proteins are limited to fish and seafood right now. If you search "Whole30" on Pinterest a ton of ideas will come up. I tend to do a lot of stir-fries, sautees and grilling and like to have a ton of vegetables in the mix. Happy anniversary, jeremysgirl! Hoping you are resting comfortably, scrapmaven! I don't have an IP or Air Fryer either. Our convection toaster oven does everything an air fryer does and I use the big oven the same way, too. DH and I got the terrible news yesterday that his former friend/boss died suddenly Monday (massive heart attack while playing hockey). Their relationship was complicated and I always describe the ending as an ugly divorce, so we hadn't been in touch in years. His family situation was also complicated and I'm not sure his DS(22) has been around his mom much in the last 20 years. She initially took him when she left, but brought him back after a couple months and went on with her life. So neither of us got much sleep last night. Dinner tonight will be a shrimp stir-fry with broccoli, carrots, snow peas, zucchini and onions.

Hoping scrapmaven is recovering without any complications or pain! jeremysgirl Ugh, I am already soooo tired of summer !!!! I cannot wait for Fall and WINTER !!! I love going outside when the air is crisp, cold, and NO BUGS !!!! I'm assuming there's some fun story / tradition behind that? I guess I could google, but I'm too tired.

Jeremy always said he would never get married again. And I was totally shocked when he did propose. But when he asked he picked a very specific date into the distant future. So I figured it would be a long engagement if we ended up married at all. But we had this trip to Vegas planned before we were engaged. He asked me about a week before we went if we could just get married while we were there. I took a few days and considered whether I wanted a Vegas wedding and I decided to go for it. I had four days to plan. But at this point I was completely knocked off balance that he gotten engaged and then was rushing the wedding when he had made it clear to me that he was never getting married again. So while we are standing there with the reverend during the ceremony, he gets this weird look on his face. And all I could think was OMG he's totally having second thoughts. He's decided he doesn't want to get married after all. Turns out he had a spider on his neck. Haha! I did not know that until the conclusion of our 6 minute ceremony. I just assumed he was having a what the hell am I doing moment.

So far today I've had a bagel with cream cheese and another Ensure with protein. Another issue with eating is that my throat is so very sore from being intubated during surgery. As I do the deep coughs, everything hurts. A friend is bring by some watermelon and ice-cream.

bc2ca thank you for letting me know about Whole30. @happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. jeremysgirl destined2bmom it's a simple dish my aunt used to make all the time. She browned ground beef and added spices. She then added either tomato sauce or diced tomatoes and a can of green beans. It was easy and delicious.
