Wedding Attire for nephew's wedding-question

I think you absolutely can and it’s really personal preference. If you feel fabulous in it I can certainly see wanting to wear it again.
I’d wear a different dress however…

Wear the dress.  I truly wonder at how many people would actually remember what you wore last year.  
And really, who cares but you and this is comfortable on you.
Enjoy the wedding.

I'd wear a different dress if I had one that I liked as well as the first one I wore.

Like quiltz says, people don't pay as much attention to you or remember that kind of stuff.

I would wear a different dress mainly because of the pictures.

Wear your dress. I doubt they will compare photos side by side. And if they do and notice they'll have a good laugh and you'll be the crazy aunt who wore the same dress to both weddings. There are worse things to be remembered by. And, an aunt is in very few photos, anyway.

I can guarantee that no one will be wondering if Mr bbkeef (or whomever) is wearing the same suit or not.


Also, my last few cruises I've worn the same "formal" dress, and on both formal nights of the same cruise.

I'd wear the dress again. I might add a scarf or a little shrug just to give it a little refresher, or perhaps pick different shoes.

Do as many do-wear and change it up. Different jewelry, add a ribbon belt in silver with a floral accent (rose, etc) pinned on it, pearls, silver wedges since it’s summer, maybe even a hat that coordinates. It would totally change it up. Do your hair differently. Then take side be side photos and you would see an awesome difference-the dress is just the base!

This is my thoughts as well. 

During COVID, I cleaned out my professional clothes because many no longer fit and I was working primarily from home. Now that we are going back to the office, we are more "business casual" most days, and I can wear slacks/khakis and a polo most days, or even jeans depending on the time of year. I don't have many occasions to dress up anymore, and I don't feel the need to keep a closet stocked with dressy clothing.

Honestly, I only have one dress in my closet right now. I wore it for both of my DD's graduation this spring, one on Friday and one on Saturday. I came home Friday and threw it in the washer. It was a plain black sleeveless dress, and I wore a different jacket with it on Saturday, so it didn't look like a complete copy of the day before.

I hate dress shopping, and in your situation, I would be tempted to wear the same dress, unless I thought I would get "picked to pieces" by the family as they compared photos of the two weddings LOL. But, since this is such a close family member, I would probably break down and buy a new one. Wedding > graduation, so I would probably suck it up.

Typing out this post made me wonder about what I wore four years ago when my DDs graduated from high school. I pulled up the pictures on my computer, and yep, same dress LOL!

It would never occur to me to worry about this. Unless your dress was very avante garde, no one noticed it, and no one will be comparing photos side by side.

If it was for a nephew from a different sibling, I'd wear the same dress. Since it's for last year groom's brother, I'd pick a different dress.

I recently wore a dress I wore to a wedding a few years ago. Same side of the family but not the same family (brother in law vs cousin).

You’ve already decided but I’d wear the dress. Add a belt, change the necklace, throw in a wrap, change the shoes.
