Trigger law in Missouri has gone into effect, abortion is now illegal there. I fully expect them to pass legislation to go after women who go out of state to get an abortion. The heathen state of Illinois is right next door, can’t have that happening It feels like my body can’t possibly hold this much hate. And my fucking backwards state (I live in Missouri) also has that moron who wrote a bill to make even removal of ECTOPIC pregnancies illegal. We are so doomed. Is that still in play or did it get voted down? Seriously 2% of pregnancies are eptopic and never viable as we all know but can become deadly very quickly. I’m hoping it’s no longer possible to become a law someplace.

Is it Missouri the one that claims if you are traveling and conceive in Missouri and go on to have an abortion somewhere else, you will be charge
How ever could they enforce that?

What happened to separation of church and state...? Freedom from religion...? I guess our founding fathers meant freedom from any religion that’s not Christian. 😕

Even San Francisco’s fog has an opinion about today’s decision…
And a lot of times random responses say it all like this one..
“Karl, they want to go all the way back to 1900 and reverse all the rights granted since. From granting women the vote, blacks the vote, civil rights, birth control rights, etc. This is just the beginning.”

I agree with you. I was debating this issue on Facebook with a guy who said the same thing to me. I’m a Christian but these Christians like to twist anything to get an advantage then are the first to cry persecution when they don’t get their way.

I hope there are record numbers of vasectomies scheduled today since men get to have a choice over their reproductive parts. Well since next on the chopping block may be easy to obtain contraceptives, if men don't wish to have umpteen kids, then yep, they better go line up for those vasectomies.

DS is down there right now and has been sending me pics.
He says it's largely pro-choice and that there is a chant of "Fuck you, SCOTUS" going on.

I knew this was happening and I thought I had control of my emotions regarding this until I listened to Cruz on msnbc. Oh my! Let me see, if you don’t like this then follow the democratic process??? Since when did he follow the democratic process or allow the democratic process to proceed? Don’t get violent? What does he call Jan 6th? Oh yes, I forgot that the Republicans didn’t get what they wanted so they stormed the Capital and our democracy was in peril. But let’s remind all those horrible Democrats to follow the democratic process. I am so angry I have steam coming out my ears.

My complete ignorance will show with this question, Do any of the state laws address herbals? There are certain herbs that can help women with certain feminine issues. Not pregnancy but other various issues. And several of these herbs can sometimes induce your uterus to expel it’s lining. This can, possibly unknowingly cause an abortion.
What happens then?

Most of the state laws I have seen cover any and all attempts of abortion. Even if the abortion doesn't work, if you attempted it, you're guilty.

Ay yo - If you live in a state where abortion is restricted or illegal, remember that DAs are ELECTED officials. So y'all start contacting your DAs and remind them that if they pursue prosecution against women who access abortion services, you'll vote them out. www.nbcnews.com/news/roe-falls-das-wont-enforce-anti-abortion-laws-rcna34306DAs have a lot of discretion. YOU elect them. Let them know they can't just keep their jobs; you choose that. I believe my DA is one of those who will not prosecute in the normal course of things. All the big-city/county DAs in Texas are sort of pussyfooting around. They can't really say they won't enforce the law, but they've said each case will be looked at on its own merits. My question is, can the state step in and prosecute if the city/county DA doesn't? It would be just like Texas to send special state prosecutors into counties like mine that vote blue.

We need to fight for our democracy like Ukrainians are fighting Russia for their freedoms. Democracy is so fragile. We’ve seen how easy it can be toppled. Giving these justices supreme power with out limits is just wrong. WRONG. Why don’t people see that. Politicians want trickle down, voters need to understand power rises from the bottom up. Our votes, our choices have consequences. You don’t vote, you have NOTHING to say about ANYTHING.

I don't believe they have specified the method at all here in Texas. Abortion will now be illegal, period, regardless of the method used to induce it. We have no exceptions for rape, incest, or youth. Technically there's a life/severe bodily injury exception, but providers have to fear that prosecutors with no medical experience will come after them if they terminate to save a woman's life. Even if the provider is ultimately acquitted, the potential stress and strain of going through the process of being investigated and brought to trial will be enough of a deterrent for many. My fear with herbals and the like is that they're unregulated. That's one of the ways that women have suffered and died in the past, by using unproven and unregulated substances.

You can take your condescending attitude and shove it your ass. Proceed with caution, casii ! If Lawrence is overturned, shoving it up your ass may be considered a felony! I love you. I need laughs like I need oxygen today. Hugs to all of you...need those, too. I'm so sorry for where we are.

I guess the market for domestic grown babies is going to booming, huh? And who is going to take care of all these unwanted babies that the government is forcing to be born? Surely not those that voted to abolish RvsW. Motherfuckers.
Question? How will this affect those undergoing IVF treatments.? Are they going to be prosecuted if their body naturally expels a fetus? How will miscarriages be handled?
There are so many other rights that are going to be easier to challenged. It’s making my fucking head spin.

Mention vasectomy in a room full of men and watch them unconsciously cross their legs. Seriously. Women go through any number of indignities just in the course of normal medical maintenance, but a penis is sacred. So, instead, we'll just see more murders of women who become inconveniently pregnant by the men who don't want to be saddled with the responsibility. I only wish I were being facetious.

I’m so sad and upset that I don’t even see hope for this country. I feel like it’s time to cut and run, to find another country to call home. I don’t want my future grandchildren growing up here.
