It's 8pm on Saturday here, and it just occurred to me that I didn't have anyone lined up to provide a sketch for this weekend. Oooops! So I had a quick look through my stash of sketches and chose this one. It's a PageMaps sketch, but I'm not sure from when. I don't have a sample layout yet, I'm going to start working on it now.

That is a great sketch, AussieMeg. Looks really versatile, and could be dressed up or down depending on the story being told. Thanks!

Here is my page for the sketch. The photos are from my Hawaii trip way back in 1989!

I like your layout, AussieMeg. I particularly like how you flipped the two photos and one photo.

AussieMeg , such gorgeous tropical colors. I feel relaxed just looking at it! Thanks for the sketch challenge. Here's mine, right side only, sooooo literal, dots for dots, stripes for stripes ..... It was a good format for the three pictures I wanted to use.

Thanks for the sketch challenge. Here's mine, right side only, sooooo literal, dots for dots, stripes for stripes I'm so literal too when it comes to sketches! I used the stripes, and and planned to use dots as well, but found the tropical paper in a kit I just bought that day. I love your page, the colours are perfect for your photos. I'm glad the you were able to convert it into a single page LO. AussieMeg, what paper did you use? They are digital papers. The tropical flower leaf paper is from the Summer Time kit by Mari Koegelenberg, the palm trees are actually a "paint" element from the Vogue kit by Lynne Marie. The other papers are various pieces from other kits that I re-coloured.

AussieMeg I have to thank you for posting this sketch! I have been trying to create this layout for ages and it just wasn't coming together. I couldn't find any paper that matched the pictures, no embellishments, just nothing worked! Having the sketch gave me some direction and while I still am not thrilled by this page, it is good enough and I am ready to move on. I wish I had found more embellishments to pull it together but meh, what can ya do.

AussieMeg your example layout is gorgeous! I love the placement of the blue splash behind the photos - it really makes your pool photos pop off the page! I really like this week's sketch - I'm going to see if I can find some photos to make it work for me. jjpeapea I love your literal take on the sketch - it works so well with your theme! I really like the addition of the washi on top of your photos. Now I want to do that!! chaosisapony I see you finished your water lantern layout! It turned out lovely - the rainbow strip really pulls out the color from the floral pattern.

chaosisapony agreed, good layout for your topic and pictures. I love how the strip complements the lanterns. scrappyrabbit your background paper is amazing for this layout! I'd be like, "Honey, we have to go to the desert so I can use my special paper". Just-right use of embellishments and clusters.

So many cool takes on this one already! I will be back to leave some love. Here is mine. In the end, I didn't use palm trees, either, AussieMeg. Actually ignored that element altogether Cruisin with Mickey by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Lots of old and new on this one, from the 2008 foam stamp, to the Disney supplies from 2010, Basic Grey from about then, on to ep from 2018, to the VB StoryTeller.

jjpeapea , your page is perfect for commemorating a sporting event. The colours are a great match for the uniforms, and the page design reflects running action. Love the medal! Congrats to the winners! chaosisapony, you did an awesome job on scrapping those hard-to-scrap photos! The rainbow glitter strip really highlights the colours of the lights, and the page doesn't overwhelm the nighttime pic's.

AussieMeg , thank you for hosting this and providing the sketch. I took one look and thought I'd never try it...but, I found a stack of photos I could use and really had fun doing it. Your example is so gorgeous and I love every little touch on it. You have love in the gallery. jjpeapea , your layout is so sweet. I love those photos and the use of the medal was wonderful. I love the bright color. Everything Special Olympics needs to be bright. It is such a beautiful program. Thanks for sharing with us. chaosisapony , your page has so many beautiful photos. Great job with the rainbow paper in the center that makes the lantern colors pop.I have always wanted to see a lantern festival. Our DD enjoyed them so much when she lived in Japan. Thanks for sharing your photos. Beautiful pages. grammadee , such a cute Disney layout. Your grands are so cute. You have love in the gallery. scrappyrabbit , that copper paper is a winner. I love every inch of your layout. You have love in the gallery. Chinagirl828 , your beautiful pages caught my eye in the gallery. Incredible. Gorgeous photos, gorgeous papers and total class!! You have love in the gallery. I really like my pages, but they didn't scan well. The top section is a blue-silver metallic paper and all the other gray- and black-looking colors are blue. I think the metallic fooled my scanner. I really need to try some of the Sketchy Sat. sketches instead of being afraid to try. I always wait until Linda does her page on 8.5x11 and then decide if I can make it work. Thanks, Linda , for all your inspiration! Thanks to all of you for posting to give me ideas.(and courage)

finally getting around to this sketch - the PP and title layout is the same (just shrunk to 8.5x11) but I changed up photo size/placement to fit what I had so in the end it doesn't look as much like the sketch as one might hope.
