I bought some of their colored pigment inks, and LOVE them. But I'm probably not going to get more of them. The deal breaker for me with most of them is the lack of a reinker. I live in the mountains at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet, and the air is really dry up here. My ink pads tend to dry out after a few stamping sessions, even if I try my best to keep them sealed in airtight containers. I've stopped buying most ink pads that don't have reinkers. Their dye inks all have reinkers, and I'm pretty sure the black pigment ink does, too -- would have to check on that to be sure. But I've never been able to find reinkers for the colored pigment inks. If you know where to get one, please share. The obsidian does have a reinker. I actually emailed them about their pigment ink reinkers. They thanked me for the suggestion, but said they have no plans to start selling them, sadly.
Versafine clair makes reinkers for their pigment inks. While I do feel the Altenew pigment ink pads do stamp better then versafine, I would be hesitant too if they dried out that fast.
Hybrid inks are a good compromise, but I haven't found any I love yet. Scrapbook.com's are crap (they dry out super fast for me and I live in Texas so it is fairly humid here). My Favorite Things made the best hybrid inks, but of course they d/c them a few years back.
Thanks for the warning about SB.com's hybrid inks. Good to know. Thanks also for the info about Altenew's response to your email. I'll have to try the Versafine Clair. I also am interested in trying the Hero Arts pigment inks.

Stamping on layouts: navy, teal/aqua, grey, brown, orange (I seem to use a lit of orange on beach pages...) Inking edges: 99% of the time I use Distress pumice stone (not the oxide, the regular Distress) Thanks for the tip on inking edges with Distress Pumice Stone. I have been on the fence about whether I need that color or not. I ink around page edges and embellishments most of the time. I often use the Walnut color, but it is just too dark for everything. Now that you mention it, the Pumice Stone seems like it would be perfect. Do you use the mini size for inking around pages? Just curious. I really miss my Cat Eye Fluid Chalks for inking edges. I haven't yet found a truly satisfactory replacement for them. I used to use the cat's eye pads for edges, too. I now use an ink applicator tool with the replaceable foam toppers. The one from scrapbook dot com (their own brand) is really nice.

Thanks for the tip! I have those, but it didn't occur to me to use them for that purpose. I'll have to try that. I bet it will work better than using the full-sized Distress Ink / Oxide pads, which is cumbersome. I really appreciate the suggestion.
