Carpet in every color, so pick your favorite. Mine is the purple carpet in the ... kitchen!! 8,000 sq ft, 4 bedrooms and 6 baths. Plus, an attached 14-car garage! We would be able to fit all our cars in there. Oh, and a 3,000 sq. ft basement. www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/M3702924551

Shudder!!! I have a cat that loves to pee on carpet ... she has been living with my mum since November while I renovate my house to sell ... ripping up the gross carpet and getting the smell out was such a big job ... my new place will not have carpet

Wow! That’s, um….impressive to have that variety. That kitchen carpet nauseates me. At least carpeting is an easy fix.
The entire house is odd. It looks like a retirement or assisted living facility from the outside.

It looks like many an FBI recording led to several RICO charges at that house. It feels...70s mobster family house. Maybe not since there's no marble though.

The aerial view showing the whole house looks like they attached the 14 car garage to the backside of the house and it now looks like a caterpillar. And that one room that looks like it is supposed to be an art gallery or something is just creepy!

Wow! I shouldn’t have looked at that before bedtime. I hope I don’t dream about it. The house looks like it smells awful. Carpeting holds in odors. Can you imagine how stinky that kitchen carpet is? And is that one room a sauna? Tell me that isn’t a carpeted sauna.

As has been said before, I love time capsule homes. In the 1970s, it would have been like straight out of a magazine. Kitchen seems small for a house that size. But that’s really the only quibble I have. Love all the space. And of course I would change everything.

The interior is not at all what I expected from the outside. And that one room that looks like it is supposed to be an art gallery or something is just creepy! Why are we not talking about all the different lighting in this room? I also love how they've positioned a chair opposite the toilet, so you have company...?

I think they need to use it for a television show. The rooms are preserved for the early 80's I'd guess.
What amazes me is how they must have kept building and building on to the back.

Lots of family secrets, teenage daughter who isn't let out etc.

Did you see the 60s TV cabinet in the primary bedroom? My parents used to have one of those, back when televisions were a piece of furniture.
Looks like a very expensive teardown to me. There's really nothing worth saving for me to live there. Pretty lot though.

That would make a good funeral home.

If I had unlimited budget to remodel I would love it! Getting rid of all that wallpaper alone would be a nightmare. But I love how big the rooms are and the 14 garages! I think it has great bones and could be very beautiful.

I LOVE this description "Once voted the top home in all of Niagara County."
Ummmm voted top home?? BY WHO? LOL
It's definitely could be wonderful.. that is, being torn down to the studs and starting over. DH would LOVE 14 garage spaces.. he would be drooling over that!

I don't know where to start... Oh, I do! - funeral home was my first thought as well upon seeing the photos - they are terrible at furniture placement - doorknobs in the center of the doors is a trend I completely forgot existed at one time - the burnt orange bathroom countertop is hideous - the formal dining room seemed to completely change colors from one photo to the next - lol - the carpet doesn't even match the rest of decor in several of the rooms - I'd have to take a hard pass on this one

when I saw the very first couple pics, my initial thought was 'Graceland' (sort of, anyway, with the large foyer and curving stairs). But then I kept scrolling. yuck-- carpet in the KITCHEN?!? (And at least Graceland has more of a 'style' vibe to it... the decor of this house seems very disjointed.) And the room with two different colors of carpet? I first thought that was because a pool table would have been there, but nope-- the pool table is in the basement. It needs WAY too much done to it in order to make it livable, for me.

I still can't imagine who ever thought wall to wall carpet was a good idea. We had an apartment in our first year of marriage (tiny town, very limited choices in our price range) that had patterned carpet in the kitchen and bathroom. Nasty nasty nasty. We couldn't move out of there fast enough.

I still can't imagine who ever thought wall to wall carpet was a good idea.. Pretty much everyone back in the day 😁 Now admittedly we didn’t have it in the kitchen ( 😳 ) but I grew up with it everywhere else as standard on the whole. Maybe here it was partly because it was warmer underfoot when there was no central heating.

Can't unsee it. Parts of that house reminded me of a tacky 70's hotel while others reminded me of the Haunted Mansion. Purple carpet in the kitchen? NOPE!

I just can't imagine what made someone think, instead of using area rugs that can be removed and cleaned on a regular basis, let's staple carpets to the floor and let them collect dirt and germs for all eternity! That's really luxurious! I get the warmer thing - I just think it can be adequately accomplished with area rugs and slippers. Much easier to clean.

Purple carpet in the kitchen? NOPE! my HS boyfriend's house had carpet in the kitchen- but at least that was a vividly-patterned carpet (kind of like a vinyl tile type pattern, on a burnt-orange background) so it wouldn't be that obvious when things were dropped, lol!

Yikes. To each their own. I used to love carpet but when I renovated I had it all taken up. I feel it's easier to keep my floors clean. Granted I'm a slipper wearer. If DH were still alive it would have been a battle because he was team carpet because he always walked around in bare feet.

I live in the general area of the house, and thought to do a drive-by. But why? It’s the interior.
The house I currently live in was built in the early 60s. A double, and when we bought it, in the late 79s, it was owned by two generations of the same family. Everything was carpeted. Everything. And when the carpet got too dirty to clean, I guess, they put new carpet on top of the old. How did they close the doors? Shaved them down, so we have about a 2” opening.
We now have no permanent carpeting, anywhere. Hardwood floors, which were under the carpets, were cleaned up.

And is that flocked wallpaper in the front entranceway?

We couldn't move out of there fast enough. Dh grew up in a house that had carpet in the bathroom. One bathroom and three boys. His mom was a fanatical cleaner, but even so it grossed me out to go in there. She and his father divorced a few years after we started dating and she sold the house. With the carpet still in the bathroom. Same carpet that was there when they bought it in the early 70's and she sold it in the early 90's.
