Eventually, yes. It may only be the basic 5Ws + H (if the H is relevant). But I always want SOMETHING on the page

Oh I agree! That's why I said that at the bare minimum I will add who (Megan and Boris) where (Yarrunga Lake) and when (30th July 2022). But I don't really consider that to be journaling. Or maybe it is. 🤷‍♀️ Yes, I would consider it journaling. Sometimes that is all that is needed, other times it's a long story that may even need a hidden pull tab worthy.

I don’t consider a layout complete without some journaling. But, I usually leave it to the end, so sometimes I end up with some LOs without journaling (or a date). I’ve gone back to old LOs to try to fill that in, because I regret not doing it in the moment when I look back at them.

I put always but I will admit to have a very occasional layout without journaling. Those usually become the title page or end page for an album.

Thanks for your responses &/or participation in the poll. Since my scrapbooking is story-driven, every layout includes (often extensive) journaling. ETA: I also said always. For me, if there isn’t a story, I don’t need to scrap it. ... I guess I am very gabby, as I’d never run out of stories to tell! Ditto!

I chose always. Because I don’t like my handwriting I put a small pocket on the back of the layout and journal on a card that goes inside the pocket. That way, anyone looking at the page can get all the information without seeing my less than desirable handwriting.

I have the worlds worst memory. That is one reason I started scrapbooking. Some earlier layouts I was going for the artsy look & sticker sneeze. Didn't leave room for journaling. I hate those pages. I can't remember what was going on or why I liked it enough to scrap it. Now I journal almost everything. Even the sandwich I may be eating.

Do you journal on layouts? (KEY: Always = 10/10 times; Usually = 7-9/10; Sometimes = 4-6/10; Rarely = 1-3/10; Never = 0/10). TIA. There is nothing more I appreciate than a key. Thank you so much!

It is relatively rare that I don't journal, but one out of about 20-25 pages, I'll just let the picture tell the story. Because of that, I chose the second option. Like you, I want the story
