MARIBETHR , it's nice to see your happy face popping up. Your scrafting on Sat. sounds like fun. You have done some amazing projects this quarter. How is work? I haven't heard anything about the NM fires for a while. Are they contained or out? Hope you are not still in the smoke. Thankfully the fires have subsided, however there are now flash floods in the areas that were badly damaged by fire, crews are working hard to protect, and we don't have a lot of rain, but I am sure there has been some flood damage to properties very near the mountains that have burned. Work is work, what can I say. Thankful I have a job, just three more years until I can retire unless the owner sells out before then. I am having so much fun with my once a month scrafty FB group, and I have been able to devote a lot of time to scrafting even on my own on the weekends. I was way behind putting my Club Scrap card kits together so I spent an entire weekend getting all the cutting done and I can do a few of the sets each evening now that all I need to do is assembly. I just got a new cutting machine since Pazzles has gone out of business. I really stressed over it as I don't really use it that often, but I like having it available when I do need it. I only really cut simple shapes and I went with the Brother Scan n Cut since I do so much stamping, it is supposed to be able to cut out the images so I don't have to fussy cut them. We shall see. I hope to get it set up Sunday, however I really want to work on some courthouse pages of some of the wonderful photos that fellow crafters have sent me, so my Bro may have to wait until next Sunday. Hugs MB

hello all I'm probably 90% recovered - still coughing a little, still a bit less energy. Had a regular dr visit this morning and she said my lungs sounded clear but my breathing was shallow so I'm to focus on deep breaths and let the cough keep my lungs clear. She said with us all testing negative more than once each - it likely wasn't covid and just some other nasty virus esp. since I never had a fever. DD15 goes back to school tomorrow - we picked up her schedule last night and she was happy with it - she has AP World History, honours classes for English, Algebra 2, Chemistry, and Humanities and then French and Welding as electives. It should keep her busy. And we got a call yesterday and she'll be in a pull-out for gifted every other Friday for 3 hours - she's excited about that -the past few years they axed the gfted program and went to just having the gifted teacher 'consult' with the regular teachers once a semester. And of course Academic Team starts Thursday and runs year-round. There's a good change she'll be JV team captain this year. My sister messaged me this morning - she's been sick since Sunday and testing daily and popped positive today. Hopefully she recovers quickly. grammadee - so glad your washer was okay. I loved the 'quick' cards you made - they didn't look quick to me at all. nylene - how sweet of you to make extra unicorns for Swatzee!

refugeepea , have you heard anything more about your son's wheelchair? Our County Fair was last week and we didn't even get over there this year. I wanted to at least walk through the 4H exhibits, but things got too crazy. Hopefully it will be done in September.

Hopefully it will be done in September. And hopefully near the beginning of the month! Hang in there! Your reunion sounded wonderful, nylene. So sweet how Alex and Swayzee bonded. I think that is one of the coolest things about reunions: the parents and grandparents can talk about their OLD memories, and the kids can make NEW ones! You are a wonderful gramma, making extra unicorns for Swayzee. There is love in the Gallery for you, kellyr21.

refugeepea, I was hoping a miracle would occur and you would get the chair earlier. Hope things are going well for you otherwise. grammadee, I wish I could join you and justjac for a little scrapping. That sounds like a fun time together. MARIBETHR, I am glad the fires are slowing down. Ours seem to be also. We have had a few monsoonal rains that last for 15 min, but they really cool things off and have helped the fires. I look forward to seeing your new courthouse pages. kellyr21, your little album is beautiful! I love the colors and the collection you have used. Thanks for inviting us to your blog, also. I am so glad to see you blogging and scrapping again. Scrapping this therapeutic for me, and I hope it is for you also. How far to do you have to go to reach a beach you enjoy? That looks like a lovely day! Love in the gallery. Linda, you have one smart cookie of a daughter! I'm glad the gifted program is available this year. I'm sure that High School is going to bring lots of activities and the Academic Team sounds like a lot of fun and a lot of work! I hope this is a wonderful year for her. Em, Alex and I planned to pick up DGD and Eddie and spending some time at a new splashpad today. But Alex isn't feeling well so that got cancelled. On Friday baby Hailey will be at DD's home so we will get to see her for the first time. Two babies (Eddie and Hailey) together. It doesn't get better than that! I finished Aug Sheetload of cards today. Toad-ally Awesome Day

Happy Wednesday! Waving hi to everyone! I started back taking those free, virtual Michael's classes last month and I had one today. It was hand lettering and the project the instructor made was so pretty. I love joining these live classes and they do record them so you can watch later on their YT channel. Tonight is my chair yoga class. grammadee , I started this type of yoga a few years ago and I love it. You sit and do lots of stretching and breathing. This class is this month and a new one starts up next month. I hope to sign-up again. Here is Part 2 of my "Sun Chaser" blog post. Blog Link HereI am sharing a mini album card I made. Recently, I re-watched my tutorial video on this card and was excited to use this collection to make this card. It turned out so cute! All the pictures are on my blog post. But here are two. Better Together Mini Album Card by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Better Together Album Top View by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr linda- So glad you are feeling better! I guess we have to be patience with our bodies. Take it easy! School already for your dd? Wow! This Summer went by so fast. What grade is she starting? nylene- Thanks so much for your cheers! Yes, crafting and papercrafting is such good medicine for me. I am glad we have this comforting friend. I am slowly getting back to my active life and learning to be patience with myself and the grief process. But crafts have definitely helped. The beach we go to is about 20 to 30 minutes away. It's called Seal Beach and we love it there. I hope we can get there this month. We both need a day trip away. What a great family reunion you had! grammadee- I hope you are back to your normal after all the joy and excited with your family. How is the garden going? Oh, how fun you and justjac having a play date.

grammadee, I wish I could join you and justjac for a little scrapping. That sounds like a fun time together. If any of the Pokeys wanted to join us vitually for a couple of hours, justjac and I were thinking of setting up a virtual crop this morning. the crop link will show up HERE. So if you are free to play, we would love to see you.

MARIBETHR , how are you enjoying your Scan n Cut by now? Glad that fires have subsided, but that does leave burn scars that leave room for mudslides and floods. I hope the weather will cooperate for you and keep the heavy rains away. It was fun chatting with justjac and grammadee this a.m. I got a couple of layouts almost finished. I have really missed the online crops. 2022 Graduate-KylieSeminary Grad-Kylie

Lovely booklet, kellyr21. And great grad pages, nylene. It was great seeing you today. And wonderful having justjac here for our annual mini crop. We had a productive couple of days. She got a bazillion cute cards made, and I put together 16 pages. Will be sharing in the Gallery and various challenges over the next few days.

sorry I missed the online crop - I was busy catching up on housework and then taking DD to an appointment. I've set aside the weekend (F-Su) for scrapbooking and am doing the free SG crop on FB. School is going well for DD15 so far - she likes all her teachers/classes. Only hiccup is the bus - she gets on at 707am and is still late to school because it's not making it to the high school before the bell (828). Still no real answers on her chronic ankle pain - x-rays showed a possible healed stress fracture, MRI showed a bone bruise roughly in the area of pain, she's doing PT through the end of Aug, going to get lab work done, and then back to the podiatrist on the 31st.

Have fun doing that on line crop this weekend, Linda. I hope they can find a way to help your dd with her ankle pain. Hoping that once the bus gets its schedule solidified that it will get her to school on time (thinking there may be some glitches that waste time the firs few days). I am off to get my B12 shot this morning. Thought dd & family would be here this evening, but dgs now has cold symptoms so he won't be coming. Dd is testing daily for Covid, but no positive as yet. He is lethargic and congested and had a sore throat and a bit of a fever last night. No fever this morning but still no appetite or energy. He is home from his day camp today. Dsil will be coming on his own, I think, to pick up their holiday trailer, probably tomorrow. Hopefully our Sunday plans to meet them for a dinner theatre performance in Edmonton will work out: they bought us he tickets for our anniversary.

It seems to work really well for this, which is what I will use it for most. I need to figure out how to the items I use for my courthouse pages set up in the new machine as I have always cut those main items (the gavel oval and the title doily) on my old machine. I may have to alter them a bit, which will be find but just need to figure out how to set up those items in the software.

He told her grandma would make another one, or 2, or 3. So I made 3 unicorns yesterday and put them in the mail. The things you'll do for the grands and great-grands! This warms my heart and gives me all the feels. That's exactly what we do lol. And it's so sweet That's so awesome that Alex is learning to use grandpa's wood working tools. What a wonderful bonding experience and I'm sure he is a great helper! I love your lovely grad pages and will get to the gallery later to leave some love! grammadee your DD sounds like she takes after you, always busy! I so wish I could have joined in crafting with you justjac. I really need a scrappy day. I'm craving one. But it won't be today I haven’t shared any pages in forever! There haven’t been many to share this year lol. I think I got shy about my JYC album since it was my first attempt at that size and I’ve seen some amazing stuff from others lol. Rudy spent the summer at a day camp put on by his karate dojo and he had a blast! And came home every day worn out lol. They kept those kids busy lol. Your dinner theater date sounds fun, I hope that pans out! MARIBETHR I’m right behind you on that retirement and I can’t wait. The anticipation is going to carry me through the next few years lol. It’s terrible all the devastation that is going on everywhere due to extreme weather. Linda sounds like DD is going to be busy as well and congrats on her being in the gifted program! Rudy missed it by a few points (as did his dad at that age) hopefully they will try and have him tested again at some point. I hope she isn’t getting dinged for being late and wow, I can’t imagine having such a long time on the bus each day. That’s awful! Your weekend sounds blissful! I wish I had set myself up to have a scrap weekend but I did not lol. I haven’t done an SG crop for awhile I hope you are enjoying it! kellyr21 love the album! Definitely will be checking it all out on the blog later! I have lots of chores I’m avoiding right now, which is only going to cut into my scrappy time later. We are still having heat here - hot and dry. I don’t remember the last time we had any real rain. Abby is a smart enough kitty to not want to be outside lol. But she got her laying on the deck privileges revoked this morning for being on top of the railing. No outside unless she’s in her harness now lol. Rudy is back in school already too! They started back Thursday. I can’t wrap my head around him being in second grade and almost 8 years old. Time flies so fast. Football is back and I’m so excited about that. Scrapping to football in the back ground is one of my favorite scrapping times. I really miss the online crops. I hope we can get that figured out again soon. I’m assuming we have to find a new way to work around the hour time limit. Waving hi and sending hugs to everyone!

A quick Sunday check in from me. Our plans to attend dinner theatre are ON and we will be leaving for the city about noon. Our hotel is quite close to the venue, but if dh does not think he can walk it, then I hope dd & dsil will pick us up. Dgs was well enough yesterday to be driving his mom crazy, so tonight he will be staying with a sitter while they join us for dinner and a live show. I hope you share your album, joyfulnana. I haven't seen any of the examples you have been looking at, so I am sure I will love yours! I dumped my eight LO's--from this past week's mini crop with justjac==into the Gallery and sharing thread, but here are a couple of them: For this one I doodled with pencil, went over it in pen, then decided to go over it yet again with Nuvo drops to make them look like those little rubber bands I am STILL picking up off the floor after the Rainbow Loom fest when Mikey and the girls were here: Rainbow Loom 2022 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here are a couple of LO's where I got to use some of my cowboy bin stuff. One crazy action and one wide open spaces peace: Boot Scootin' Fun by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Horsin Around by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I've missed y'all! I have survived parts 1 (BIL/wife/nephew/niece) and 2 (MIL/annoying spouse) of family visits which included a week of camping. I just finished working 2 days which I picked up in order to get the next 2 days off. Part 3 starts tomorrow when BIL/wife/niece arrive for 3 days. They are from London England and it's lovely to see them, but it's not as relaxed because we only see them every 2-3 years (and it has been 4 due to covid!) I'm staying up "late" because I have a very large pot of vegetarian "meat" sauce on the stove that needs stirring. I plan to make a gluten free lasagna (one is vegetarian. One is celiac. The niece is picky). We are making a big fruit salad and we'll do sundaes as deserts. I've had to write out ideas for meals for each day because of their restrictions. Suffice it to say I have not scrapped a bit and I'm missing my "me" and "pea" time! grammadee - lovely lovely layouts - the rainbow loom bands - I hear you! I still am finding them 7 years later! - and I love how you created them on your page. The horse silhouettes are just gorgeous and I love how they balance your photo "block". - have a *blast* at theatre! There was a free play ticket offerer through work this week, but by the time I got to work this weekend they were all gone joyfulnana - I can't imagine the kids back in school already. It's always after labour day here. Is Rudy not a big brother yet? That seems to be taking forever! I would love to get back to some online crops - September/sketchtember will be good here. Hello to kellyr21, nylene, MARIBETHR, refugeepea, Linda! Hoping to chat more once the crowds and work subside a bit.

MARIBETHR - glad the fires have subsidedd - hopefully the floods do soon also. Sounds like you've been getting lots of crafty time kellyr21 - what a cute little mini album - you're so creative - and the second one is awesome also! refugeepea - prayers for the wheelchair to be ready soon nylene - those froggie cards are adorable! And the grad pages are great! grammadee and justjac - how fun to get together and crop in person. I hope you enjoyed the dinner theatre - how fun! joyfulnana - my older two missed gifted by one and two points - hopefully they'll re-test Rudy. I hope you get some scrappy time soon. Love the doodling on your layout. The stampede layout has a lot of energy just like your pictures. And the horse one looks calm and peaceful! kitbop - that's a lot of family time - glad you're surviving. Hopefully you'll get some scrappy pea time once the next batch of visitors come and go. I had an awesome scrappy weekend - scrapped almost all day Fri and Sat and most of Sunday. Got 27 layouts done (34 pages) and 2 cards. And my BFF called and we chatted for a couple of hours which was nice. DD15 had a sleepover at her friends Fri after school until dinnertime Saturday so the house was quiet - especially she then slept in on Sunday until after lunch. Bus was on time to school this morning so hopefully that's resolved. She doesn't get in trouble because it's the bus that's late but she doesn't like walking into class late and I suspect the teacher isn't thrilled either. Today is supposed to be a housework day - my hip and knee are not on board so we'll have to see how much I can actually accomplish.

I was feeling fine Thurs. am but by 8 pm I knew I'd caught a bug. It has just been a bad cold, but it has really knocked me down for a few days. DH started a day after me, but we are hoping he'll be ok for his surgery this Thurs. I need to get a lot of things done this week, so was not excited to get sick! kitbop, you are so nice with all the dietary restrictions of your family members. That would make me wish we hadn't planned on eating together. You are a great hostess! I hope you are having a good time and that you can get back to your normal scrappy time soon. Linda, 37 pages is more than I do in 6 months! You are Scrappy Wonderwoman! I look forward to checking out the Sharing thread. I love it when you post lots of pages for me to scraplift. It's nice to know that your DD is getting to school on time. Being late for anything makes me uncomfortable. I'd almost rather not go than walk in late. grammadee, it was fun to see that rubber band page (almost) in person while we were online. I will go do some studying in the gallery to enjoy all your pages. You have been scrapping, scrapping, scrapping! I am hoping that as school starts and things settle into a more normal routine we can get out online crops going again.

oh no nylene - hope you (and your DH) feel better very soon. And I'm like you - I HATE being late...my dad was military and ontime was late to him. DH is a veteran but he didn't pick up the punctuality habit Linda, I was chosen to attend a 4-H conference in Washington, DC in the late 80's. Six adults from Utah were chosen and we were given orders that if you are early, you're on time, if you are on time, you're late and if you are late, you're LEFT. Obviously 3 of our Utah delegates didn't believe it and didn't hurry to catch the bus back to the 4-H center one day. It cost them $95 dollars to take a taxi. That was a big chunk of their spending $ gone. My parents drilled that into us as children and I have never regretted being early. I am so impressed with all the pages you have finished. I have pinned a bunch of them.

Oh no, nylene . I hope both of you are feeling better soon. And that your dh's surgery goes well this week. Too funny about the 4-H lesson on being late. My military dsil is pretty strict on being on time, too. "If you are on time you are late" sounds familiar. Glad the bus schedule is figured out for your dd, Linda . And congrats on all your pages. i nee to get into the Sharing thread and leave some love. Have fun with your family, kitbop . Good work on all your advance planning to deal with food sensitivities. I keep foods that dd can eat in stock here. Also sometimes cook up a batch of something--like onion, garlic and gluten free lasagna--that she can have, and then freeze the leftovers in single serving containers. That way if our meal is off limits for her she can always grab something out of the freezer. We are home from our city adventure. The theatre was fun. We were called up on stage with 3 other couples celebrating anniversaries and actually danced on stage. But no one took a photo . Tomorrow I need to make a couple of cards to put into the mail when I am in town to get my hair cut, but that will probably be it for paper crafting this week. Checked the garden and the cucumbers look promising, so i will probably be making relish later in the week.

Good Morning! grammadee your dinner theater sounds like a blast! What a bummer no one took a picture. kitbop the little brother won't be here until November! It does seem like it's been forever and me and Rudy both are still trying to wrap our heads around my not being this ones "Nana" lol. That's sweet of you to prepare special dishes for the special diets. I could see my younger self doing that, griping and complaining to myself the entire time, but in the end I would have been happy I did that lol. Linda I hope your body cooperates with you today. It's so odd how I can be fine one day and full of aches and pains the next with no rhyme or reason. Great job on all the pages you've finished! nylene I hope you feel better and that everything still goes forward for DH's surgery, you're in my thoughts! This season at work has been a strange one. Busy intermittently (usually when I go in thinking "today should be a slow day") lol. But overall it's been a slow "busy" season and I needed that. My stress level and mental health are on the mend after two years of torment lol. The heat finally broke here yesterday. I stepped outside last evening and it was CHILLY!! It was 79 degrees LOL. Today is rainy and a high of 71. Every year I become more of a cold weather person than a lover of summer, and I'm so ready for fall. Waving hi to everyone! Hope you have a great week!

joyfulnana , those are my feelings exactly. I would probably do it, but not be happy about it. The older I get the less I want to do a big cooking for company anyway. I would really like to see your Christmas album. I haven't seen many and have never tried to do one, so I know I will love it. Will you share? at least with the Pokeys? kitbop , you are a super hostess! Thinking about you and hoping you can find some scrappy time when leg #3 of your adventure is over. You are a busy mama. grammadee , how fun that you could attend the dinner theatre and then be highlighted by dancing. So sweet. What # year is this for you? Congrats on over 50 years together. I am loving all your pages. You and justjac must have really worked. Linda , I have really enjoyed your pages. I am trying to simplify mine and I like them better. I hope you were feeling well enough to do the things you wanted to do. I feel great right now, but DH is still congested. I hope they don't postpone his surgery. He has 2 days to recuperate fully. Hey Pokey's you know I never want to post anything negative or sad, but today I must. We had to send our beloved Desmond Burtram Hercermur Jones over the rainbow bridge today. 14 years old and he was suffering. He helped my husband build my craft room in 2012 when my husband retired. He has been a joy to have around. We still have four other cats and a dog to take care of (all strays). But this was a very hard day. Please don't be sad, he is no longer suffering and that is a blessing. Thank you for your understanding that I needed to share the joy this wonderful feline brought me throughout the years.

nylene - your 4-H story reminds me of a college ROTC field trip I went on around the same time to DC - we had two bus-loads and at every stop, we were told when to be back on the bus and that the bus would be leaving on time with or without you. A couple of students ended up finding their own way back to school from DC after missing the bus back. I'm glad that you're feeling better and hope your DH is also - prayers that surgery goes on as planned. I LOVE your grad page - that subtle background is perfect! grammadee - I'm glad you had a great city adventure but I'm sorry no one took a photo You'll have to do a journalling page. joyfulnana - I'm sure that's hard for Rudy to rap his mind around. Do you have a relationship with his mum at all? I'm glad that work hasn't been so hectic and the weather is finally cooler for you. MARIBETHR - I'm so very sorry for your loss. It's always so hard to say goodbye even when we know it's for the best. (((((Hugs)))) Yesterday was rough - up super early to take DD in for labwork/dr visit at 7am - only to find the lab tech called in and we had to wait for the sub to come in. And then she didn't succeed in drawing the blood - not a good first blood draw experience for DD at all. So we had to go back in at 7 THIS morning - different tech and a much better experience thankfully. So I was exhausted all day and amy knee/hip were still giving me problems. Went to bed early last night and am feeling much better this morning thankfully.

(((((HUGS))))) MARIBETHR ! Such a sweet photo of your feline friend helping with the construction. He looks so well-cared-for and content there that I am sure he knew how much you loved him. Thank you for the hugs.

Good morning, Pokeys. Glad your work is slower this year, joyfulnana, but I understand how the unexpected bursts of demands can be pretty annoying. Crises always seem to happen at inconvenient times it seems. Not that any of us wake up and think, "Today would be a good day for a crisis". Just that when we are crazy busy anyway, they just seem to roll in with everything else. Rudy getting all the relationships clear in his head reminded me of my nephew, who told us that when a baby was born into their blended family that his step daughters were quite sure that the baby would be going with them when they went to their dad's the next week. They were quite excited to introduce him to the members of their other family LOL! How are you and dh feeling today, nylene? Hoping his surgery does not get delayed and that all goes well with it. I had a pretty slow day yesterday. Got a couple of cards put together and one of them mailed. Had my hair cut. Ran a few errands in town. Today I need to wash jars for relish, and am hoping to pick the cukes this evening. I will have to take a photo of the huge one that is growing in a tomato cage. Dh texted me from the garden yesterday evening to ask if I was waiting for it to be 2 feet long before I picked it. I was actually going to see if it would fill out a little WIDTH before I grabbed it: that variety seems to grow long first and then fill out. Today is our anniversary (54 years) and although we celebrated on the weekend, I had thought we might go out for supper this evening. But dh has a dental appointment today, and if they do an extraction he won't feel much like going anywhere. Guess we will wait and see. With hot weather I don't do much cooking anyway, and if we don't go out we will probably just have some soup.

DH says he is feeling better but he doesn't sound much better. I finally convinced him we needed to call and get their advice on the surgery. They sent him for a Covid test (PCR) at the hospital and we just got back from that. The admit nurse seemed to think that he should be ok for surgery tomorrow unless he has Covid. So if we don't hear back from them, it's a GO.
I have been learning how to make and label a recording on my phone and ipad. I think I have finally talked DH into being excited about recording his memories. Em gave me a booklet of questions for each day of the year about my life. I have used that in journaling and scrapping my early years. I hope he really gets into it. It has lots of silly questions that I know the grands would enjoy hearing about...like his arrest and being taken before the judge at 8 years old!
I am hoping to get a little scrapping done today to take my mind off tomorrow.
