I was thinking about this event but after seeing the line up I am not at all interested.
I like just a couple companies (spellbinders, C9, altenew and Gina K ...both are a hit or miss for me but I still like it a bit depending on designs they have). Definitely skipping it.

I'm leaning toward skipping this event and come back for the fall one. I like how the fall ones have a good mix of themes for the cards: Christmas- Fall- Birthday- Thinking of you I did only 1 spring one and I recall to have Birthday- Thinking of You-Thank yous. I was disappointed the most recent Fall one had Christmas since they have an entire holiday event. Some others commented on that but that made others angry. The Fall one before this last one did not include it. In that Spring one they had Congratulations, Best Wishes, Thanks, Celebrate, Hello, Just a Note, Happy, Hip Hip Hooray, Thank You, Grateful Forever, and a few others. (I glanced through the albums since there’s no way I’d remember!) Of course sentiments can be changed to what’s in our stash, swapped, split up, etc. I liked the range, not that I’d use some of those sentiments.

Well as of right now I'm out. Don't hold me to it. I may change my mind in the next few days.
As some of you all have already mentioned up-thread I really only look forward to a few of the companies/classes. And most will sell the items after the event at some point. If they don't then I won't even miss it, right?

I wish I could pick and choose what classes to take. There are quite a few in there I'm not interested in. Maybe I'll do the scrapbook one instead.

I'll be the odd man out here - I'm pretty excited by the line up. I like the addition of Stephanie Barnard. I have a few of her card dies and just used one yesterday to make a quick birthday card. That's why I like her stuff - quick and looks like you put some time into it. There are a couple of things on there that I'm not sure about, I know very little about Altenew and on the whole the classes seem a little flower heavy.
But I learned something in this past fall class, not to rule anything out until I actually try it for myself. I really didn't like the Concord and 9th (HEY) card going in and even decided to skip the class completely. But, I changed my mind at the last minute and realized I could adapt it to use in a way that would work for me. That's what I've appreciated the most about the past card events, after each one I come away with a better sense of how to adapt things to my style and how to take supplies and mix them up, not just stick with one company on one card. (Bowing down to Jennifer McGuire for that inspiration!)
As for all the flowers - well, I do love flowers and since I give away most of my cards to a mostly female group anyway, having a lot of flowers isn't a bad thing. Just my take on things. I'll be signing up tomorrow and looking forward to March. Hope to see some of you back in the fall!

I can’t imagine expecting to like every single supply or class in a big event like C&C. For the two I attended, I figured if 1/3 to 1/2 of the cards were ones I’d want to send, that would be great, since there was no way only my favorite styles and techniques would be presented. It would have to be geometrics/semi-messy/stripping/minimalist with no coloring but lots of color and pastes. No one has or will ever offer that menu. (Actually, the closest to being perfect was the very inexpensive “Crushing on Cardstock” that’s one of Jennifer McGuire’s On-Line Card Classes with lots of guest instructors. It’s still available, just not live.) But in the first event I made a card I’d never have on my own, and it was really fun. Plus the instructor was a kick. While her focus is more artsy SB layouts, and I’m not a scrapper, I like her techniques and now watch and learn from her from time to time.

I have loved the CC&Ds I have done in the past. I can always change out sentiments (or colours, etc). I love learning new techniques and trying new products. Most of the instructors are amazing. I know there will be a few classes that I wont do bc they aren't my jam (either the content or the instructor)...but the rest is still worth it. I can sell the unused stuff down the line or give it away.
I just have to justify $367CAD inc tax and shipping vs my budget. I know it is worth that much but its a big hit at the moment.
I know I will have FOMO if I dont sign up lol I am going to wait until later to see if I NEED this. They clear the waitlists pretty quick usually.

I did sign up. Big as I expressed up thread less excited about the line up. I’d rather get more product from the main companies so you can make a wide variety of cards with it than less product for each company because I feel like it limits the cards and techniques. Or at least have people supply some more stuff so we can get more techniquey. But I’m still signed up and I am sure I will enjoy it

I'm trying really hard to talk myself out of it and I'm sucking at that! So far I've calculated that 15 classes for $319 is $21.27 per class. I ranked them in three categories; Love, Meh, No. I'm at 8 love, 4 meh and 3 no. What to do what to do!

I signed up too. I was really on the fence and could have gone either way. But, my best crafting buddy wanted to sign up again and we do the weekends together, which I love. So...I'm in for one more. :-)

I'm trying not to have FOMO here myself. My friend and I have done the last three card making events and have decided to sit the spring event out. We want to play (beyond what we did in the classes) with the goodies we've received at the last two events. We both work full time and have families so it makes it hard to use all of the things we've received. I really wanted to sign up but I haven't used anything beyond what we did in class. We are talking about gathering and bringing our stamps/dies/stencils and having a card making day. We will more than likely be signing up for the fall event when they announce it.

I caved. I'm in for the spring cardmaking event. I'm still on the fence about the scrapbooking one - I did it this past spring and used up just about everything I got in the box! Is anyone doing the scrapbooking one this weekend?

My crafting bestie & I decided to sit out the Spring cardmaking event but we will likely do the Fall event. We just couldn't make it work after already purchasing the Pinkfresh Feb cardmaking event & it being so close to Christmas. We also do a 5-day crafty retreat in January and the Scrapbook Expo will be back in our area in March the weekend before Crop & Create so we'll be saving our money for both of those. istamp247 - I love your idea of taking what we got in the Fall event and having another crafty cardmaking day with those! I may do the same in January. For those that are taking the March event please share your projects when completed!!

I also signed up after some internal debate. I have really enjoyed all of the cardmaking events that I have done (the past three, I missed the first one) but was very tempted by the Pinkfresh event. Plus, the Taylored Expressions virtual event is usually around that time. Oh, and I did a bit of cleaning in my craft space and realized I am out of space and need to curate this addiction I have for stamps.
I miss some of the companies that had been involved in the past (The Scrap Market, Pink Fresh) but most of the newer ones seem really good as well (Altenew, Simon Hurley) and I certainly can’t expect these events to always be the same.
The only constructive criticism I have about the event as a seasoned card maker is the limitations on doing some advanced things. I am specifically talking about the use of a stamping platform. They don’t require it, and I think I understand why (expense, limited options in the US/North American market) but having the instructors make cards that don’t require the use of a stamping platform just limits what we do and seems to me like a lot of the same. Now, there have been a couple projects that I would have felt really sorry for a person who wasn’t using a stamping platform (The Stamp Market, and one of the cards in the Laura Bassen/Hero Arts class last time), and no one should pay that much money just to be frustrated. I believe they have put the stamping platform in the “highly suggested” supply list, though, so I may just be working myself up over nothing, lol.
I also think they should make available a beginner class on video that they can use in all the cardmaking events. Here’s how to make an A2 card base, here’s how to season a stamp, etc. That might be nice to help some new folks prepare.
And I want to be absolutely clear that I do welcome new card makers/stampers and that even though I’ve been doing this for a while, I don’t feel like an expert and I learn from everyone! So I’m not suggesting it become an expert level event. The fun energy comes from newbies and alum all buzzing together.
I enjoy the hype, most of the products and the event as a whole so I am glad that I can swing it with all that is going on in the world.

Oh, I forgot a non-constructive criticism about the event—I don’t fussy cut, you can’t make me do it and including products without dies and then making the project involve extreme fussy cutting is never going to work for me. Foot stomp. 🤣

Greetings, C&CD fall 2022 alumnae! I was gifted the Crafter's Companion "To Someone Special" stamp set by MichyM. The packaging says it coordinates with a set of Box Dies, which weren't part of the box for that event. I've made a few mini slimline cards with the two largest stamps, but I'm wondering what else can be done with the stamps. My understanding is that this set was used in one of the mini-classes, so there are no finished projects shown in the instruction booklet. MichyM doesn't remember that anything other than stamping and coloring the images was done in the session. Have any of you finished any projects using this set and if so, are they shared anywhere or are you willing to share them now? TiA!

Thank you for posting these. I told Shakti I'd look through the video and take screenshots, but then promptly forgot to do so. IIRC, the mottled BGs were created using markers, clear acetate, and rock salt. Similar if not the same as what she showed this spring.
