Random question. Does anyone know how I'd get my hands on a small quantity of the CTMH papers? I think they're super nice for neutral men's cards and wouldn't mind having a bit more of them. They call it "Mix-In Patterned Paper" but none of the papers in our kits are on their site.

MichyM and pinklady Regarding the CTMH papers. I read on the FB that it's a new product and will be available Oct 1st. I like those colors for men cards, too. Depending on the price of the Spellbinders item, I may order it...for a friend...

If anyone wants to share a pack of it, give a holler!

Less than 24 hours to go! I took today and tomorrow off. Got my errands done this morning and am ready to sit down and finish the prep work and watch the videos. Is everyone ready?

I have tomorrow and Monday off work. I need to make a stop at the grocery store at lunch time and I should be set for the weekend.
I want to listen to the rest of the meet & greets today to see if I learn any tidbits.
I'm ready to get crafty!!!!

yes! Jennifer McGuire will be awesome to watch! She always knocks it out of the park.
I just spent half an hour on the Taylored Expressions website - I want to try some of their Quad stencils, and if you spend $100 you get a free gift. Well, my cart added to $104 and when I applied the new customer discount, the free gift disappeared.... Didn't see a place to add the Crop & Create discount either..........
Closed the window and I'll try again tomorrow. Bah.

I left all my homework ‘til last night (typical for me) thinking I could get it all done in an evening. I barely managed to prepare for Friday so I’ll have to prepare for Saturday on Friday evening. Between the videos you have to watch and the physical homework, there’s a lot to do! But that’s good since it makes the event seem substantial (which it is!)
Doing the homework finally got me excited as I hadn’t seen the Friday classes yet. Some of these classes are as exciting as the “main event” for me. This is my first time attending the online event and I can’t wait!
I’m definitely “reaaaadddy to rummmmblllee”! 😂

The Crafter's Companion - learning so much! She's moving at a great pace and dropping really good techniques/processes. I'll definitely have to try out those watercolor pens!

WOW, my first light bulb moment of the day. Watching the Close To My Heart class and I just realized why I hate the trimmer she is using...I was using it upside down! If I rotate it, it works so much better! And I never noticed the inch mark on the short side. Watching her, I now know how to use it. I mean the numbers were upside down too! I just always used the swing out arm on the bottom on my old trimmer so I was forcing it on this trimmer. I'm just blown away by my ignorance!!!!

On the West Coast and we aren’t watching live. Waiting for my two friends to arrive and we’ll start watching replays at 10:00 PST.

I only got one card done, and could not, for the life of me, get three colors to stamp on that sentiment. Grrr.....

I thought that the first gal with the Scottish brogue was awesome. And I may even have a clue how to do the box now🤔. I watched inmy PJs with coffee in hand (it was 7am) so I’ll give it a go another time. Liked the stamping techniques for the CTMH class.

Lessons learned already:
1. Starting at 7am doesn’t work for me. I need my morning routine 😆 Tomorrow and Sunday I’ll start up with the second class. 2. I’ve given up on crafting along today, these 1hr class make and take instructors have to teach fast to fit it all in! And I am sooooo sloooowwww. I just curled up in my comfy chair and will just watch today and create another day. So, if I’m extra talkative on this thread today, that is why 😉

I've only gotten 2 1/2 cards done today which were from the Elle's Studio class. I've been listening & watching but I'm most interested in doing the cards for Elle's Studio, Honey Bee, Scrapbook.com and Simon Hurley.

I'm loving the Thermoweb foils that Michael is showing us how to use. I definitely need to get some of those!
I'm watching more than I'm doing - tomorrow should be easier to follow along as the classes are longer and somewhat slower.

These Honey Bee cards are so pretty. If it wasn’t for this class I would never have picked up the stamps and/or stencils. Glad to have my horizons opened up with these classes.
BTW, do you all prefer the ranger embossing ink or the versamark? Both of my ranger brand (the one I had and the new one in the kit) are so ridiculously wet that I simply cannot get a clear impression, no matter how gentle I am. Thanks!

I've never used anything other than Versamark. I've never had issues with it being too wet. The ink pad lasts YEARS! I'm on my second one in probably 10 years.

I don't have Ranger embossing ink, so can't give you any advice on that one. I do have Versamark, and it works good. You can let it "dry out" a little bit on your stamp before stamping onto your paper - that might help. Are you pressing into the pad too hard? I use a stamping platform (THoltz) and I touch the pad to the stamp, instead of pushing the stamp into the pad.

I’ll fiddle around and try that. I am a gentle tap tap girl, and use a TH platform as well, so pressure isn’t the problem. I gave up using embossing ink on all of these projects (and generally on anything) and use other inks that would work. On the Elle’s studio on vellum, I used white instead of clear, and on these honey bee cards I used brown. I’m definitely going to add Versamark to my CTMH shopping cart - those papers go live tomorrow, and I also want to try their Harbor colored ink. I couldn’t find a color in my stash that wasn’t too bright. Have y’all used CTMH pads? What do you think of them?

Just remove some ink. - by swiping it on a scrap of paper or I like to swipe-emboss-die cut and use it on a card I used the same embossing power. - or just take a old gift card and gently remove some ink.

Well duh! Thank you azcrafty! This last class, SB.com. I didn’t do any prep for it because I’m not really sold on their designs or color choices - they’re cute, but not really my style. However, I do like the dies. If you made up your own version of these cards and care to share them, I‘d love to see!

I'm just watching today. I have all the classes prepped, but the Friday classes just go to fast for me to make three cards. While doing the prep I already made cards from Elle's Studio and YNS.
