1. ...favorite (to peruse/shop for/buy or not)—stamps. I love looking at stamps. 2. ...favorite (to use)—enamel dots/drops. I like how they can really make things look more finished or fancy. 3. ...most abundant (in your inventory/stash)—I have so many dies. Stamps are probably a close second. I also have a lot of paper. 4. ...most frequently used (on your layouts)—enamel dots/drops. They are so easy to use and give my layouts something extra.

This is a wonderful thread! I have enjoyed learning about all your favorites. It is so interesting to me how we all have such different approaches to the same hobby.
Here are my answers:
1. ...favorite (to peruse/shop for/buy or not)? -- Stamps by far are in the lead. Reinkers are right up there, too. Lately, add page protectors to the list; these never used to be that interesting to me, but they have come a long way since 2010 (I took a hiatus from scrapbooking around 2010 and have just recently been getting back into it, so I have a lot of catching up to do).
2. ...favorite (to use)? -- My style of scrapbooking is evolving, so I am not sure how to answer this. Past answer would have been stamps, inks, patterned paper, cardstock, decorative scalloped scissors and punches. But I just got my first die cutter, so I'm guessing dies will assume a place on this list (maybe? I'm kind of set in my ways with fussy cutting everything, so who knows?)
I never used to use frames on my layouts, but I just started making some and like the look of it. My new die cutter is compact, and I wasn't able to find frame dies in the exact sizes I want. So I ordered the We R Memory Keepers Frame Punch Board in hopes that I won't be at the mercy of buying chipboard frames, which are expensive and never quite the right size / color for what I need.
I also just started experimenting with digital scrapbooking a couple of months ago, so I have tried making a bunch of my embellishments digitally.
3. ...most abundant (in your inventory/stash)? -- I don't maintain much of a stash on anything except stamps, stencils, ink pads and markers (and even those, I don't have a huge stash of. I'm really selective and try to only buy sets that I know I can use at least a few dozen times each. For the most part, the stamps I buy get a heavy workout. The stencils, I bought out a retiring engineer's collection on ebay; I use some of them frequently, but not all of them). I do still have some old-school tools -- hand punches, decorative scissors, a couple of Crop-a-diles -- that I use frequently, too. I love fussy-cutting scalloped edges around stamped flower images, journaling blocks, banners, whatever, so I don't see dies completely replacing my Paper Edgers.
Lately I've also made some sizable investments in page protectors. I have more than a decade's worth of scrapbooking to catch up on. Realistically speaking, a lot of these pics are going to get plopped into pocket pages, and that will be that. I can always revisit them in the future and scrap more of them...(if I live that long? haha).
4. ...most frequently used (on your layouts)? -- In the past, stamps, especially alpha stamps and journaling block stamps -- and some letter stickers for page titles. In the future, probably not so much of those. I am hoping to transition to doing most of my page titles and journaling digitally. Letter stickers are not as abundantly available now as they were in scrapbooking's heyday, and I also am tired of storing bunches of oddball letter stickers that will probably never get used.
I'm still buying and using a lot of stamps, though. I try to do some stamping every week, and I cut out and organize the stamped images along with the rest of my stash so I have them when I need them. If I find out it's someone's birthday or anniversary, and I need to whip up a card, I can put one together pretty quickly because of that. I use a lot of stamped images in my planner, too, so I try to keep on top of stamping my most-used planner stamps.

Going to be medium weight ~200gsm coloured cardstock for me (brand agnostic), all across the board except for 'most abundant'. I own more patterned paper/cardstock stacks, but I use them rarely.

1. pattern paper 2. word stamps 3. double sided tape, 6:02 mark in this video. Life changing on how I use metal dies! I use a paper piercer to get the backing off of the really small pieces.
4. I've been liking stickers and paper diecuts more lately because I do a lot of pocket scrapping. Doesn't take long to quickly embellish a card.
