Where you are just crabby and can't get over it? and it's so dumb? My dh and I went to a friends house last night for dinner and my dh practiced bags with the guy, as they are doing a tourney today. I told him I didn't want to stay long. I had worked all day. I just want to get home on the wkdays and wash my face, take off my bra and put on my pjs and relax. We went there right after work. Around 9 I knew he wasn't going anywhere, so I went home. We had agreed on 830pm. One of our friends said he would give him a ride home. Well, he didnt get home til 1130pm. I didn't really worry, it's just that when someone is gone, and I know they are coming home, I still dont' sleep deep. I had chores today and he said last night he wasn't coming with. around 9am, he's like are we going? and I'm like, no You can go yourself. I'll do my thing. I just wasn't in the mood for him. We needed a new doorknob. So he got one, and it's silver. Our door has all gold hardware. well, now except for the silver doorknob. I think it looks dumb. Of course he doesn't see it. Who's going to notice? grrr. probably no one, but me, but I'm crabby and I don't like it. I'm suppose to go to the bags tourney tonight with him, but I'm just not feeling it. grrrr. I know it's dumb and silly, but just trying to get over it.

Yes honestly everyone has a day like that. Sometimes something like that wouldn't even register with me but sometimes you just want to do what you want to do and if your mood isn't cooperating, then it comes off as crabby. I would probably just look at him and say, hey I'm kind of crabby today and I want you to have fun. So please go and I'll stay home and hang out here.

Those things would all make be crabby too! And, tell you dh that I would totally notice the silver knob on your door! That's totally something my dh would do and act surprised that I cared.
What is bags or a bags tournament?

The silver door knob would’ve tipped me over the edge. I do notice details more than the average person. But that’s not really a detail. It’s more of a let me hit you over the head with a cast iron skillet. Hope things get better for you soon.

Yes! I totally get it! I’ve had some really tough weeks at work lately and our best friends invited us over for the weekend to celebrate the wife’s birthday. When we accepted the invite, I had forgotten that I had to do some testing for work in addition to being on a call. No biggie…it can all be done remote. I just brought my computer with me.
But…this week was pretty stressful and I just wasn’t feeling it. I just don’t feel like being sociable. All 3 of them drink and I do not. Last night they got pretty tipsy and it just wasn’t fun for me. Trying to have any kind of conversation was impossible because everything was a joke and they kept interrupting. I just finally quit talking. I know I’m being overly sensitive because I’m just not feeling it this weekend and need some downtime.
I agree with you about the doorknob…that would bug me.

and the wrong colour door knob - oh no…no, no, nope! That would go straight back to the shop. If I wasn’t irritable before I would have been after that nonsense!

That door knob would be off and replaced by myself while he's at the tournament. I've replaced a door knob, it's not hard. Go shopping and enjoy yourself and while you're out get the new one. Then see how long it takes him to notice, lol.

I validate you. The doorknob would annoy me if I hadn't been consulted. I don't sleep while I'm waiting for DH to get home either, however tired I am. And being tired only makes me more irritated. I'd send him off on his game and enjoy my time alone, changing that doorknob!

The damn doorknob is bothering me and I don’t have to see it! My dh used to ask me why I noticed every little detail. I’ve been an inspector for 37 years! I get paid to notice and it never shuts off!!!

I have days of insane irritation - every little thing is irritating. And I know it is a menopause thing, so I try not to lash out at DH. But man some days "to the moon Alice!!" UGH
