Update - excellent customer service from Altenew and I now have a perfect stamp set!! Original Post Ugh...I ordered a stamp set, it's a lovely set. But, two of the sentiment images won't stamp cleanly. Look at the E and Explanation point on the word Awesome and then there are a few little dots in the small Thank You  I emailed the company the attached image and some others. I was trying to illustrate that it wasn't user error and that I could get clean impressions from other images in that set and one of their other sets. They were kind enough to replace the whole stamp set. I opened it up today and there is another unique problem with the Awesome sentiment. It's like there is a cut line/indention slicing thru the stamp on the right side of the O and thru the word being.  I really don't want them to replace the whole stamp set again. It seems so wasteful. I'm bummed because I really liked the Awesome What would you do? |

Can you ask them just to send that one stamp? They can keep the others to replace problems people might have with those. I know of cases where manufacturers have replaced just one wonky die, so it might be possible. Other than that, there's not much you can do.

I agree with Marg, I'd ask them to just replace that one stamp. I know I wouldn't just accept it and do nothing. They need better quality control.

I wouldn’t be the least bit concerned about it be wasteful, that’s their problem. They sent you a defective product twice and it’s on them to make it right or refund your money.

Keep contacting customer support until you're made whole - which means a full set of stamps that all function as intended. Donate any extras you end up with to a friend or thrift store, and call it a day.

Check the stamp first stamp to see if there is a bit that didn't get "weeded" between the E and ! during the manufacturing process, and you can pick it out. If that's not the issue then contact them again. Stamp sets are too expensive these days to have to settle for a defective stamp.
I have a set from the last C&C that has one defective sentiment stamp. Part of an "O" is missing. Luckily it's an arial type font and easy to fill in with a fine tipped Micron pen. I wish I would've contacted SCT sooner. The upcoming C&C time I'll be stamping all the sets before the event.

May I ask what is the manufacturer and name of the set on the bottom of the paper. I like those sentiments quite a bit. Thanks!
ETA: oh and to anser your question. I'd let them know that I'd like that stamp replaced again, and that it's possible, I'd prefer if they just sent that stamp rather than the entire set. Let us know how it works out!

I did look for that. It's like a solid blob of material that just didn't seem to get cut away. At the last SCT event, I had one stamp that wasn't stamping clearly. That one did have a small piece of extra material that just peeled up and then the stamp worked perfectly. MichyM the second set is Fragrant Florals by Altenew. It's one of their layering stamp kits that came with a matching embossing folder, stencil, die and stamp. It does look like it's sold out now though. I emailed them again...I'll update when I hear back. |

Thank you, I'll have to peek on the usual sites for resale goods and see if anyone has a set for sale. Fingers crossed that the third time's the charm with the frustrating set!
ETA: wow, what a pretty set! Have you shared anything you've made with it?

I would notify the company of the defect in the replacement stamp set, & the company will respond in accordance with its policy. Hope this issue is resolved soon. ...I'll have to peek on the usual sites for resale goods and see if anyone has a set for sale... ETA: wow, what a pretty set! Heard back from them and they are replacing the entire set. They said they were not able to just replace one. I did offer to return the others and they said I didn't need to. Once I get the new one, I'll do a RAK here if anyone is interested in the duplicate stamp sets I'll end up with. MichyM here is an image of the card I made with Fragrant Florals (heavily borrowed from the Altenew site). I've made a set of them in different colors for my MIL.  |

Whoo hoo! Received my new replacement set and now have a perfect set! A+ customer service from Altenew, I really appreciated that they kept trying to make it right (vs. just offering me a credit or discount for the messed up sentiments).
