It has been announced that Queen Elizabeth has passed and I wanted to remind people to save any photos/articles that are in newspapers and online now while you can. I am sure some will want to document this historic event in their albums -- or at least, I know I will. Things you might want: screenshot of Buckingham Palace webpage that announces her passing news homepages announcing it reactions around the world Edited to add some that I’ve found:

Thank you for the ideas. I am trying to get on the BP site and it is not loading. I am sure it is being flooded with people checking it.
I have an app that may be called "front pages" or something like that. I need to go check and grab the pages.

Her last official portrait for the Platinum Jubilee earlier this year: She looked so incredible for her age! I am truly sad at the news of her passing. I'm actually surprised at how much I care. It's the end of an era. I am very pleased that my husband and I went to Balmoral castle during out honeymoon in 1997. We took a tour and I bought a really cool bas-relief of part of the Bayeux tapestry in the gift shop. It's nice to think back on that visit today. Remember to save screenshots, etc, of the Coronation of King Charles and the Investiture of Prince William as Duke of Cornwall, too, if you're so inclined! I'm looking forward to seeing such historical events in the near future, it's all so fascinating to me.

For those documenting the different aspects of her life beyond her role as a monarch as well as the period of history she lived through, here are a few high-ish resolution photos of Queen Elizabeth II: Royal daughter // Witnessed 2 world wars // Royal wife // Royal mother // Dog mama at heart (it's estimated she has had over 30 dogs of her own in total) // Royal wife (part two) // Covid-19 survivor //

A photo gallery of QEII cannot be complete without one of her face-splitting grins as she admires her beloved horses.

My friend shared this with me
This is such a sweet poem. You probably have seen this, but my friend just posted it. So sweet.
"Phillip came to me today, and said it was time to go. I looked at him and smiled, as i whispered that "I know" I then turned and looked behind me, and saw I was asleep. All my Family were around me, and I could hear them weep. I gently touched each shoulder, with Phillip by my side. Then I turned away and walked, with My Angel guide. Phillip held my hand, as he lead the way, to a world where King's and Queens, are Monarch's every day. I was given a crown to wear or a Halo known by some. The difference is up here, they are worn by everyone. I felt a sense of peace, my reign had seen its end. 70 years I had served my Country, as the peoples friend. Thank you for the years, for all your time and love. Now I am one of two again, in our Palace up above." Poem borrowed from and written by unknown author

Another photo op to look out for in the next week is the covers of all the magazines at the grocery store or newsstand. She will be on every cover and they will probably be lovely photos.
I’ve seen some neat photo rainbows of her outfits over the years which would be a nice colorful way to remember her.
My husband also just showed me a newsreel of Princess Elizabeth learning to be a truck mechanic during WWII. She had a remarkable life during very interesting times. Most of us have only ever known the UK as having a queen and now most of us will probably never again see one on the throne. I had to send my friend a message “The Queen is dead. Long live the King.” even though neither of us are royalists, just history geeks, because it’s the only day we will ever say that.

I have a souvenir program from her coronation in 1953. Would post photos but cannot, happy to email to a pea if they pm me so they can post the photos? Such a sad day, even the sky is crying here.
And I just have to say it, if Meagan tried to make this about herself I’m gonna be on a plane to dole out one huge can of whoop***

Plenty of photos from the UK in mourning but I really liked these two for discussing Queen Elizabeth II's impact on the British people and featuring contemporary London:

I shared some pic's I found on line in one of the NSBR threads. I will try to copy and paste me post here. I don't know how large this pic is going to appear, but I went looking for the Star Weekly special edition for Her Majesty's coronation. We received the Star Weekly every Saturday, and I remember this edition. It had full colour photos of the Queen and the Duke and their two young kids at the time--Charles and Anne. I remember poring over this magazine, amazed by this beautiful young queen and her cute kids. I can't find the photos from the inside, but this was the cover. Anne had such cute fluffy curls and I loved seeing her ruffled dresses. I couldn't find the photo I was looking for, but here is a b&w I found on line

To share an image from a source like this, right click on the pic, then choose "copy image link". Then paste that link into your post here. Highlight the address that appears, and then click on the picture icon beside the e-mail icon above. And the pic should show up in your post.
That's what I did to show the image from the link you posted. Thanks!

I will add a photo to my family album. I don't think I'll do much journaling. We did share the same birthday.

This Paddington Bear pic was on the CraftStash website yesterday along with their notice they were closed due to the Queen's funeral.
Their heading was "Thanks, Ma'am. For everything."
