I'm getting ready to go to the local hazardous waste dump and drop off some stuff. Now, that's how you spend an exciting Friday morning. Then I'm going across the street to see photos of my neighbor's son's wedding. It will be so nice to see the wedding and to see my favorite doggie. She's the dog I babysat a couple weeks ago. This is supposedly the last day of the heat wave. So, dinner will be either sandwiches or teriyaki chicken a'la Trader Joes.
What's on your menu?
Marina, I'm thinking of you and sending you totally benign thoughts as you have your diagnostic mammo today.
What's on your plan today? What are you doing this weekend?
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, easy and fun weekend.
I'd like to help you out. Which way did you come in?

Woke up to smoke again. It's nasty. The sad thing is, it's going to get cooler starting tomorrow but I won't be able to use the whole house fan to take advantage of it because of the smoke. Praying for all the people in the fire's path.
I *think* dinner might be salmon. We get our Moderna booster tomorrow so I need to plan ahead for dinners.
Hi, everyone. I've missed you the past few days. Things have been hard over here.
But, it's Friday and so far my day is going well. And I've been busy with work and laundry at the same time. The benefits of working from home. My goals for today include reviewing and approving a spend plan, putting one together that I have to draft, and having a meeting this afternoon to go over another spend plan. So if I can get all those things done, then I'll consider today a success at work.
I'm supposed to go to Detroit tomorrow to see Eric Clapton. I'm already nervous about it. But I'll be with Jeremy and my sister and her husband. So hopefully it will be fine. We ordered these tickets ages ago. I might work some tomorrow morning too because I took a bit of time off work this week. But other than that, my only plans are to crochet.
I didnât make tuna sandwiches last night, so maybe tonight. DS brought pizza (after asking me and I said no) and a Costco chicken, and there was already so much rechauffe in the fridge that we just picked over all of that.
I have missed whatever is going on with Marina, but I wish you âtotally nothingâ results on your mammogram. And feel better. I did read that youâre in a lot of pain.

Iâm making comfort food tonight. Chicken, rice, mushroom gravy and steamed peas. Cooler weather here for the ATL and Iâll take it! It means a walk at the park which the doggo enjoys. The minute we turn into the parking lot she goes nuts. Itâs her happy place.
cadoodlebug, I had the pfizer booster yesterday and other than a sore arm I feel fine. May this booster be easy for your and your dh.
jeremysgirl, you have earned a fun concert and you'll be supported by people who love you. This is a totally safe thing for you to do and it just might lift your spirits for a bit. Have fun.

Good morning, happy Friday! I took today and Monday off and have a four day weekend with plans only one day so far which is perfect! I am very much a homebody that likes to do occasional things out. đ
Todayâs activities include: Walking out in the sun, yoga with my dogs (they love it), scrapbooking, and pinning down more decisions for house things/design/colors.
Dh will be out late working so Iâll have a salad with salmon and he will probably have some salad and of course those leftover stuffed shells! Have a good day, all.
Just about done with my Art 7 class ... it's a short one today ... students get out at 12:38 pm ...
My car is in the shop so my mum drove me to work today and will pick me up ... she's a lifesaver!
Dinner is up in the air ... if I have my car back, I'll get a takeout burger because I'm craving that ... if I don't have a car I will scrounge something out of the freezer at home ... maybe perogies with fried onions.
I will be going out for breakfast and then hanging out for a few hours with my girlfriend tomorrow morning while the inspection is going on at my house ...
I woke about 5 to high winds and hot air. It was 88ÂșF/31ÂșC and so humid I had to shut up the house and turn on the AC.
The good news is the rain is supposed to knock our temps down, so my fingers are crossed that we break this heat wave. I was hoping to get a long walk in before things got too stormy but after taking the pup out realize it is already too late for that. If things lighten up I might do multiple short laps around the neighborhood so I can bail and get home quickly.
I don't want to drive in this but DH is taking his car in for repairs and will need one of us to get him.
The guys are planning to attend an EV/Clean Energy event at the convention center this weekend and I just plan to hang out with the pup.
I didn't plan well for dinner as I have a pack of chicken breasts to grill and no intention of standing outside.
There is probably is enough kicking around the fridge to call a fend for yourself night, but the chicken needs to be cooked so I will poke around Pinterest for inspiration.
Toss them in a crockpot with some salsa etc...shred for tacos or taco salad
Great idea except I donated the never used crockpot when we remodeled the kitchen.
um ⊠if youâre short a crockpot, I believe there are five of them (in various forms) here, and Iâm salivating over the new Ninja model. I could share, if only you lived closer.
Anyway, you can mimic a slow cooker by cooking in a covered Dutch oven on the stove top at a low temp for a long time. Ditto in the oven, but Iâm still too scarred by this heat wave to even think about turning on the oven.
ETA never mind, I think there are only four here. For now.
bc2ca , if you have an air fryer you can also cook something really simple w/the chicken. For someone who has absolutely no intention of cooking anything when it's this hot, I have lots of good ideas. Tee-hee.

Happy Friday!!
Today is Kaitlyn's birthday and we are going to celebrate her at dinner tonight after work. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll spring for a couple of pedicures if we can get an appointment.
So, obviously dinner will be out. Probably going to be the best meal of the week. Last night my dh showed up at his moms at dinner time. I think he was wondering where dinner was! I was right, my mil didn't want to eat but I convinced her to have a little ice cream.
Have a great weekend. Enjoy the concert jeremysgirl!!!
Sorry you "west coasters" continue to suffer...I will not make you feel bad that I actually had to close windows this week as it got down to 60 overnight several nights. Got just to 80 todayđđ, and will be in the 80's both weekend days...Perfect September weather here the NE.
Dinner will be salmon and a ceaser salad, along with a green veggie...probably broccoli.
Father is invited out for dinner so I am on my own. I am having carbonara from the pasta place in the mall. It is surprisingly good. I need a couple of pairs of leggings from Lululemon so I am going there today. Nothing is very exciting but itâs manageable.

Hallelujah! We have finally finished cleaning out MIL's apartment. Today we took out the mattress and box spring. We can't donate it as no agencies will accept mattresses so it will go to the dump on Monday. Yesterday Molly Maid came to clean so it wasn't left for the building super to deal with. Now we just have to finish the paperwork stuff - cancelling stuff, banking, insurance, etc.
I'm babysitting the grandboys and grand dog over night tomorrow night. Their parents are going to a concert and spending the night out of town. This is a concert that was rescheduled from a few months ago.
Now that things have settled down a bit, DH and I want to do some short get always where we can do some biking. Going to spend some time on the lap top doing some research.

hahaha - I was ruthless on my kitchen appliance clean-out when we remodeled - the Dutch oven did make the cut though

bc2ca I hope when you go to pick up your DHâs car; you get a break in the weather.
I was lucky that it only drizzled on the way there. He was waiting for me on the street and I drove right by without recognizing him. The skies opened again as he drove me home and then headed back to work. We haven't heard from the body shop yet but they warned DH that the car might be a write-off if there is underbelly/frame damage. He's not happy although mostly because the accident was his fault.
Your weather is my absolute favorite, karenlou . Warm days and cool nights are perfect.
I'm glad you are working your way through what needs to be done after your MIL passing and can look at a getaway for you and your DH, taylortroop .
DS & I were doing a little clean up during another break in the weather when I realized I could probably turn on the grill and get my chicken done. It was the most drizzly grilling I've ever done and "dinner" was ready about 2pm, but there was no torrential downpour.
Well I found a nice pair of pyjamas but forgot about the leggings. Ugh and the seller at the Bay wouldnât let me but 6â stilettos they need to make him general manager.
