I’ve become a fan of a quick intense workout first thing in the morning. There’s something about breaking a sweat that seems to clear the cobwebs from my brain. And if I can cut out the drive to the gym even though it’s on my way to work I save time packing and can cool down while I pack my lunch and brush my teeth I do t continue to sweat after the shower. Having equipment at home has been a game changer for me. DH runs and only from home so he has always been able to save time he opens the door and goes but he is not the type to run in any kind of weather.

We used to have a gym membership and went regularly. DH and I would go after work and it was working. The time though. To come home change, change clothes, go to the gym, workout, drive home, shower (cannot go to bed after that sweat), and then have to think about making supper. Plus it was kind of busy that time of day. I moved to mornings, but getting up that much earlier each morning did not last long. Also, vanity would creep into my head and I just could not wear what I was most comfortable in to work out. I know most people are not really concerned about others, but we have all see the pictures or videos of people not meeting someone's "gym standards". We are having a slight schedule change in our house and I was thinking of getting a quality piece of equipment for a good morning work out. Because of the time change I would not have to get up earlier and I could wear whatever I want. I know I can at the gym also, but I would be more comfortable at home. Thank you everyone. I am going to research a quality, budget friendly but not cheap, treadmill.

Agree with dumbbells/resistance bands. And a yoga mat. A good brisk walk is the only pure cardio I like, and I don’t mind that the weather is oppressive 5+ months of the year, but post-Covid, I’ve totally lost my desire to spend time sharing weights or exercise mats with strangers at the gym.
I also like to save time by doing HIIT workouts with weights so I get my cardio and strength training in one go.

We have been slowly adding to our home gym since Covid hit. I, too, was not real comfortable in gyms any longer. We have a set of dumbbells, kettlebells, a functional trainer, a Schwinn IC-4, a couple benches, Bosu, bands, etc. And Thursday my Concept 2 rower just arrived! I love rowing so I am very excited about it. If I had to pick one, the cable machine ^ is it for the win. I love strength training and that thing does way more than you can imagine. (BTW, it is waaay cheaper at Costco I think. That Amazon price looks jacked up.)

I have a Waterrower and love it! I have had it for a couple years and still use it regularly. It stores upright and I just love the sound of the water swooshing!!

The one piece of clothing that people usually forget to pack is socks. Lol! Luckily, there is usually someone there that has an extra pair. I’ve started throwing two socks in my gym bag. I think there is actually three in there right now. Lol!

I love my treadmill because I can walk at a pretty good clip and still read a book on my iPad.

busy, peaname, paget - if you're interested in the new peloton rower - you might want to also look at the Aviron rower - lower price point, can also be stored upright (impact series only), and has streaming, games, workouts etc...and they are regularly updating to add more features. We're had ours for almost a year and no complaints. There's a very active FB group and I believe Discord also (I'm not on that platform) - very encouraging group of users

Rower...because I really like using them at the gym and feel you get a lot of bang for your buck with a rower. However, we have the Peloton Tred and another brand of exercise bike, some free weights and resistance bands. I would rather poke my eyes out with a stick vs. walk on a treadmill though. We had an elliptical, but I didn't care for how close to the ceiling I got in our home gym...prefer to use those in a regular gym.
