Hi all! I'm so happy to see so many participated in last quarter's thread! I hope no one minds if I start another for this quarter. I'm sorry to say that I don't have anything handy to post to kick things off, but I wanted to get the thread up in hopes that you all would get things going. If you participated in the SCT event and have the time, would you post your projects here as well - in case some of our cardmakers don't check that thread? If you need help figuring out how to host your photos in order to share them here, please check out THIS THREAD for easy (I promise) instructions and a place to practice. Let's use this thread through the end of THE YEAR grammadee would you mind pinning this and unpinning the 3rdQ thread whenever yOu have some time?

Girls. Should we forgo this thread for the 4thQ? Or do we just need someone to kick it off? If it’s someone to kick it off, here’s a card I made from Crop and Create supplies. Super quick and easy. Simple color blending with a Gina K stencil, then I spread Stickles over the top and let it dry. The Stickles is awfully thin so if you try this you may want to adhere your stencil with Pixie Spray so that it doesn’t seep under. Next time I’ll use glitter translucent paste instead, got some ordered them other day.

MichyM, I love the subtle colour changes and the glitter. What a pretty card! I think this is a perfect quarter to have a card sharing thread! I am sure many are sharing cards in the CARDtober threads, but there will be others this month and even more in the next two I think.

I finally tried my hand at one of the Spellbinders set from Crop & Create Deliver - OH MY! The card is beautiful, but my fingers are simply too big to do piece these together. I managed one card. I might sell these dies if anyone is interested.

I’m not sure if I’ll use mine again either to tell the truth. 😁

Do you put double sided tape on the back of the cs you are cutting out for the little pieces? Is there a way to use one of the "negatives" as a mask to insert all the little pieces?

There were 27 die cuts. I'm doing stenciling on cards and finding it fun (and fast!). That might have something to do with it LOL.

After your intricate card designs, I hesitate to share these with you. But three cards this weekend. These first two were for CARDtober challenges (#9 and #12): Hi Happy birthday by Gramma Dee, on Flickr fun fold anniversary by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This last one I cobbled together this morning in an attempt to make a window card. I ended up with a mysterious gap when I tried to inlay the first balloon cut out onto the acetate, even though I had used the same die to cut the window in the pp. I solved that by making a second cut with the plate and slapped that on the inside of the window. I actually like the 3-D effect, and am thinking if I had used my head I could have used a second sheet of acetate and made the window area a shaker element. But not taking it apart now... balloon window by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Those look great @grammdee! The first card is so colorful and I like how the circular pattern is carried through to the BG. I have got to get to that fun fold card. It looks right up my alley (aka...easy to figure out). Your fix for card 3 is perfect, and I like the effect as well!

I might sell these dies if anyone is interested. The Spellbinders cards are definitely fiddly and time consuming, and your card turned out beautifully, but I think the effort is worth it (for special people). After recovering from the class, I ended up buying the dancing deer die and have made several cards with it. Less pieces than our Elf, and ridiculously cute. I may have to get more of their "dancing" dies down the road <---- I know, I know...I've lost my mind!

Just got back from my 5 day scrappy weekend. It was wonderful and I managed to make 35 cards. Here are a few of the holiday ones I made. I also completed the Pink Fresh classes, but will post those cards on the Pink Fresh thread. Snow Globe Shakers (I bought this set last year and didn't have a chance to use it until now). My nieces/nephews will think these are cute. Misc. HolidaySanta Family - inspired by Grace Camou and Nicky Meek on Hello Bluebird, Joy inspired by Jennifer McGuire - although she made a shaker and I didn't brink acetate...so no shaker. Print Maker birds inspired by Yana Smakula. Misc. Holiday ContinuedThe Spellbinders gnome tree was a major pain. It would have been so simple if they had put indented score lines on the background die. I just copied the layout from the package. When I looked for inspiration later, I saw a lot of folks colored them with Copics...that is the way to go. I'll take a spin at that later.

Are the white loopy rings a die or embossed? I've been looking for something like that.

cmpeter your cards are delightful! Love the scenes in those snow globes! The Santa family is so cute, and I love the shadowy inked background. Each of your cards looks special and they show your attention to detail and your eye for beauty. Feeling a little jealous that you picked up those gnome tree dies. And used them so well. I agonized over that set for quite awhile before I decided they were too intricate for my patience and skill level LOL.

So many beautiful cards shared. Sorry, I totally spaced on looking at this thread until now! I tried a new design based on Jennifer McGuire's recent video using vellum and it passed my test - I was able to make it from memory after one viewing, no need to look up the instructions And I think it came out pretty well. I used a patterned paper I had been resisting cutting up because it's too pretty and a stamp set that I have only used once. Spent yesterday morning swearing at--err creating with--my SB Glimmer foil system. This was the only finished card I came up with. Peace with Glimmer System by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I think I may foil some more panels in this design today now that I have a better idea how not to mess them up as much. Removing the plate from the machine often causes the foil to shift. But for this one I pulled the base off the machine as soon as the timer indicated that the plates had heated up. I had the foil taped to the cs, so popped that on, then the cover plates, and ran it through my Vagabond.

Lovely card. I agree the learning curve with foil is the pits!
I’ve seen one YouTuber suggest not putting the top plates on your paper/glimmer until right before you run it thru the die cut machine. It’s on my list to try.

I’ve seen one YouTuber suggest not putting the top plates on your paper/glimmer until right before you run it thru the die cut machine. It’s on my list to try. I didn't even put the FOIL on! Once the glimmer plates had heated, I had lots of time to tug the platform off the base, then walk a few steps over to my Vagabond before placing the foil and cs on the glimmer plates then the two cover plates and run through my machine. (I used scotch tape to affix the foil to the cs to make sure they stayed together through the whole process) The results were much better than when I covered the glimmer plates with foil and cs immediately after the timer quit blinking, before transferring.

II’ll probably make some more, but am bored with them as is and need to figure out a new design.

Love the deer! I bought the dancing Santa after the SCT class, but haven't taken the time to try and assemble him yet. Here is my take on the vellum top card. Mixed in some of the Snowflakes and a sentiment from the Pink Fresh class (and a few smaller ones on a random die set I had). I get together for a card conga with some friends. We all make up kits and a card idea for each other. I think I'll bring kits for a similar vellum top (or side) card.

I really like what cmpeter and @joblaxkford both did with your vellum cards, I’m going to have to go look for that video! MDscrapaholic, the reindeer are finicky, but not nearly to the extent of the elf. That said, I’ve gotta be in the right mood to just relax and deal with little pieces. KWIM? I want to share these cards. I knew when I saw the TE stencils from our C & C kits that I wanted to make some holiday cards with them as well. I taped over the acorns, but in hindsight I think I could have easily kept them in. I also used the Foliage and Flowers die set that we got from Spellbinders. Lastly, I found a huge roll of 1mm foam tape (hurrah) which I love! I wanna finish my big roll of 3M and never go back to it. The flowers are popped up ever-so-slightly with it.

MichyM, those are cute. I know the legs move. Does the head bob back and forth on this one, too? I saw that on a JM video, but I think it was a different die--"Magical reindeer", maybe? cmpeter, here is my cobbled together version of those Spellbinders gnome trees: cobbled together gnome tree by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I had planned to use a water brush to smooth out the pencil crayon colouring, but I wanted to see what they would look like. And then I started gluing.
