My thoughts are it sure sounds like Putin is still in charge of the Republican party with this kind of promise. ETA It doesn't change my vote, just adds another tick mark in the Blue column. I was just thinking that as well. Even just saying that the US may not continue to support Ukraine gives Russia hope and causes the rest of the world to wonder what is going to happen with the US. I also wonder if there wasn’t even more of a hidden message there, in regards to Russia meddling in elections. Not to be dramatic but to any extent that the Russians develop realistic hope that the US will withdraw support if the Republicans take back Congress, we're giving them pretty good incentive to engage in election interference, and also causing Ukrainians (and Russians) to die if Russia digs in hoping the US will stop supporting Ukraine.

Yep. I think that was probably the goal of the statement.

We are! We are staying with my parents until we can move into the house on the first. I keep telling them that they have a boomerang kid after 32 years!

I already had about 100 reasons to vote Democrat straight down the ticket. Just adding this to the list. As others have already said, if we pull out now, the rest of the world will never trust us ever again. The people in Ukraine are fighting so hard, the least we can do is send them some weapons and a little money.

I have, on occasion and in local races, voted for a Republican. Quite frankly, there have been a few times when the Republicans had a far better platform than the Democrats.
Not anymore. If you put an R behind your name, you have aligned yourself with a party that lies, cheats, and steals. You are the party of low morals and ethics. Even if you are not "one of the bad ones" you have made your choice.
I'll vote straight down the blue ticket. And Putin cannot win this war so we must continue to support Ukraine.

I cannot believe, even now, what the Republican Party has turned into. It is now the party of Trump, MTG, Jim Jordan, Ted Cruz, Tommy Tuberville, all of the other kooks in Congress, and Qanon. William F Buckley must be spinning in his grave.
