Disclaimer: My answer is a little different since I'm digital and get most of my product for free from being a CTM at a digital store.
I have a "To Be Used" folder on my EHD where I keep all my unused kits. Sometimes I'm able to match these up with a "To Be Scrapped" folder full of photos but sometimes they sit there for awhile. Digital scrapping changes faster (IMO) than paper scrapping since it's individual people creating product who can do so in a much shorter time frame so, in general, I have very little product more than five years old. Even though I can use digital kits over & over again, I usually don't and delete them after one use.
With that said, there is one digital designer who I've worked with for years & years, and I have all of her product from the last 10ish years. I also have a small "Favorites" folder where I have some very old (15+ years) neutral alphas, overlays & masks, and stitching that I use over & over again.

i think the oldest stuff i have are Making Memories rub on alphabets. i also have some Architexture stuff (i think they were by K and Company). the oldest paper is probably some solid pieces from those thick A-- "Stacks". god, remember those? i ditched the prints long ago. of the "designer" paper, i still have old school Basic Grey and some K and Company.
ETA: i'm not hoarding this stuff because they are so great. i just forget i still have them and don't have the heart to junk them. i usually donate to a school if i hear of one.

I definitely have a lot of unused & unloved stuff to sort through. Time for another big purge.

For some reason this stirred up a memory of some giant letter stickers in my stash. They’re really tall, black, typewriter font circa 2005. Does that sound familiar to anyone? I think it’s time to toss them.

I have a lot of old Studio Calico kits from years ago when I was not into budgeting & subbed with them. I love breaking them open for a new project. Some are probably 16 years old. I keep them in kit form until I use it. I will go through all my open supplies frequently to de-stash items I don’t use anymore (brads, Rub-ons, etc)

Gelatos are my unloved/unused supplies. I had to have them, at one point, and bought all the colors. Now, they don't even cross my mind to use but I'm not getting rid of them because of how much I spent. I'll use them one day...I hope.

So much stuff, so many plans! That about sums up my stash. I have been scrapbooking and card making for a very long time. I use a lot of stuff from Amy Tan and Dear Lizie that is older. Those are some of my favorite collections!

Amy Tan & Dear Lizzy are some of my faves too!
I thought of something I have that’s never been used… the Slice machine by MM. I even have all the little cartridges organized but I never used it.

I still have some supplies from 2006 - 2010 in my stash, but there isn't much paper left from that time period. Most of the items I still have from those days are ink pads, stamps, Paper Edgers, punches and tools. I still use all of those items. I purged everything I wasn't going to use in 2010 -- and since then, I have been careful to only buy what I am reasonably sure I will use.
A few of the papers I still have, unused, are BasicGrey (not much left of this at all), 7Gypsies, Daisy Ds, Reminisce and Creative Imaginations. I have a baggie of eyelets and metal doodads. I recently found an unopened pack of metal embellishments from BasicGrey. This stuff falls into the "loved but still unused" category.
I also still have a few ArtBins full of layouts-in-progress from the mid to late 2000s. Those supplies aren't unloved; they are all earmarked for projects. I just never got around to finishing all those layouts. Now I have more interesting things to scrap, so they'll be unfinished for awhile longer.

If I was into digital, I could see myself buying more stuff because space wouldn’t be so much if an issue. Then I fear I’d have trouble finding stuff. Do you have search tags where you can find kits/individual elements? I’m thinking cats, Orange, Halloween, etc.

I have very little unloved anything in my stash. I do sometimes acquire paper I have no love for, but it gets put in the 'die testing pile' so it does get used, frequently at that. I suppose I have a few commercially made embellishments and chipboard ephemera that are unlikely to see any action in the foreseeable future. It doesn't bother me because it's just a handful of items. I'd have fingers left over after counting them. If I did wind up with a lot they'd go into the donation pile.
My oldest item is probably some Basic Grey or October Afternoon paper. I have pads that are over a decade old.

I used Picasa (which is no longer available) and the tags I used are ones that make sense for the way I would look for things.
