All of the challenges that I post are based on the theme “It’s Magical.” The first week (Oct 7) was Movie Magic. Oct. 14 was Holiday Magic. Today, your challenge is to make a card with a member of the Magical Folk (2 legged) community on it, such as a gnome, fairy, elf, pixie, witch, wizard, dwarf, leprechaun, etc. The twist is to either add something you have rarely or never put on a card, OR adapt his/her costume in some way. I used vinyl to make the book, because the lines were too thin for card stock. I also used vinyl for the Wizarding 101 “classroom header.” I adapted my gnome's costume. The company that makes this gnome is Jaded Blossom. I have the basic gnome and the cowboy add ons. That is all I have from the gnome sets. I wanted to make a wizard gnome (which they don’t offer, anyway), so I added a little black cauldron from Queen & Co., as well as giving him a book. His wand is the stick from the stick horse of the cowboy set. I added a moon and stars to his hat and used the cowboy boots for his shoes. I cut the book and words with my Cameo. I used the Tim Holtz brick embossing folder on the background for texture and used a makeup brush to ink it, something that I rarely do.  |

I definitely was thinking of you when I made him! I know you love gnomes, and your cowboy gnome convinced me to buy these. I’m glad you liked my version, and I look forward to seeing whatever you do with your gnome making skills! |

scrapnnana what a great challenge. I absolutely love your card , its so cute. The book is so good, can't believe how perfect the black outline is. I just got this sweet fairy stamp from Reverse confetti. Its too bad they are out of business. I really like their stamps and dies. The heart sticker is my twist, I don't really use stickers on my cards , I was planning to use glitter for the wings, but decided not to mess with it and ended up using stickles. azcrafty, your little fairy card is adorable. It’s a shame that the company who makes it has gone out of business, but I’m glad you used the stamp, even though it’s been discontinued. The stickles add the perfect shimmer to her wings. So, so cute! Thanks for sharing it.

azcrafty Your fairy is so adorable. Exquisite coloring. The circular background adds so much interest. scrapnnana Thank you for the magical challenge! Your little gnome looks so content sitting there, trying his hand at wizardry. Siofra the fairy wanted to celebrate Christmas. She stole a baby sock but it was still pretty big for her to handle!

scrapnnana , your Wizard Gnome is amazing. Just so cute. I love all the stitched edges on the die cuts. They really make a classy and finished look. I love the book you have fashioned in front of him. He looks like he’s reading up on a spell for his little pot. Thanks for the challenge. azcrafty , your little fairy is delightful. You do such wonderful coloring and I love all the background pieces you have used to make a scene. You have love in the gallery. jjpeapea , your fairy is so sweet. I love that you even have a story to go with her. If that’s a baby sock, she’s a pretty tiny little fairy. The font on your sentiment is perfect. Love that you added a name to the Christmas stocking! The first card is for this challenge. I have a gnome die so wanted to make him and alter him. I thought it would be fun to have him singing Christmas carols, but then remembered he has no mouth! So I had to make his mouth to see if it looked like a singing mouth or just a black spot on his beard. LOL. I added 2 little hands and made him hold a song book. This was a very fun challenge.
