I grew up in a musical family within a musical neighborhood, therefore, music is usually the background music.

I always want some kind of noise on in the background. Either music or the TV. It feels weird to me sitting in complete silence.

I like the quiet too. The only time I put the TV on when I'm at home by myself is when I'm doing the ironing. I like some company. And when I'm crafting, I put on classical music. But just pottering around or web-surfing, I find it distracting. I can't concentrate and don't get anything done.

I wish I could remember what quiet sounded like. 😢 I have horrible tinnitus so I need background noise but I don’t like a jumble of noises so just one thing at a time on like music or tv or a fan.

I always have something on. Usually the news or YouTube video. If I’m moving around I often have air pods in and listen to a book or podcast.

I seldom like quiet. I live alone and I frequently listen to podcasts. I enjoy them.

No, I like the quiet. I don't ever have anything on in the background unless I'm actively listening or watching. That is me, too. I listen to audiobooks while I scrapbook. I don't watch much tv except after 8pm. My parents have the tv on 24/7. They sleep with it on.

I don't have the tv on or any background music. I have a very loud job teaching middle school kids and I love to come home to peace and quiet. I also am incredibly ADHD and I can't concentrate with background music.

I don't need sound- I do like it quiet in the car most of the time. BUT I wanted to add that I love being with myself. I don't consider it being alone.

Peace and quiet for me, but I also have tinnitus, so sometimes I HAVE to put the TV on just to get it out of my ear!
I can't work with the TV on, though, need to have quiet for that.

I only have the tv on if I am actively watching a show. But when I am alone I always put music on and usually have it loud.

Depends on my mood, but I’m most likely to have some kind background noise, most likely music.

When I get a little time to myself I like to catch up on my backlog of tv and podcasts. The only place I tend to be silent is in the car if I don’t have any passengers.

Must have noise. Even if yhe washer, dryer and dishwasher are running. Must have tv on or tik tok or something. Can't stand quiet.
Sleep with white noise at night, have a app I use if power is out.
Might be partly because I have a artificial valve in my heart, and without some noise all I hear is it shutting. With...every...heartbeat. which don't get me wrong Im glad to be alive... But. truthfully even when I was a kid in school I had to have tv or radio to do homework and that was prior heart surgery..I just can't with silence,I need noise to both drown out noise and silence.
Right now I have washer and dryer, dishwasher, an electric heater and my 24 yr old and a buddy on carport(opposite wall where I'm sitting) taking transmission out of his truck with lots of clanging and banging and cursing haha.
A perfect evening

I have constant noise in my classroom, so when I get home I don’t turn on any music. I’d rather read than watch TV, so I can’t tell you the last time I watched anything. I do listen to the radio driving to and from work, though.

No; I prefer "silence" (ie sounds of nature outside, HVAC indoors) when home alone & either "silence" (ie HVAC, road noise) or Sirius radio (either jazz or sports talk) when in the car alone. I never listen to radio at home & only turn on the tv to actively watch a game or shows on DVR.

So many enjoying the quiet - I love it! We moved for me to have quiet, so very little background noise for me. I occasionally turn on a jazz/coffeshop playlist (don’t listen to this kind of music normally) when I make plans for the coming week. I’m enjoying recreating a «studying in Stabucks» experience without leaving home
