I used my hexagon create in quads stencils and the pattern definitely does not line up with the etched lines or the square guides. I got it at the Spring Crop & Create so it's been a while and trying to exchange it would probably be a colossal pain in the butt. Has anyone cut them apart? It seems like it would be easier to line up the 4 stencils if they were A2 size rather than 8 x 10.5. I'll preface this by saying that I NEVER cut my clear stamps apart so cutting this stencil is giving me anxiety! Curious to hear about your experiences.

I've got several of the quads and the mini slims. I really love these stencils! I don't even try to line them up using the square grids or the lines. Once I've got the first layer done, then I visually line up the images themself on the other stencils. I have discovered that even when I think the stencil isn't quite lined up correctly, (I'm a perfectionist!) by the time I'm done and take off the last stencil all the layers look really good - no noticeable mistakes.

I don't have these stencils, but I do know that TE has wonderful customer service. They replaced a die several months after I had purchased it when I finally used it and discovered it wasn't cutting crisply in the middle.

My set from the Spring C&C doesn't line up either. I just move them around a bit when inking each section.

I’m going to give it another try today and use them like lindamh does. I bought a couple sets from AE and I actually like those better. There isn’t a border around the stencil, it’s the exact size (8 x 10.5) so they all line up using the corner of each stencil.

I have bought a couple of her other layering stencils and they all line up fine.

I wonder if it is bc of all the cuts on the hexi one? I love that stencil and the look of the backgrounds. So adaptable for so many sentiments.

I seem to recall reading here that there was a problem with the ones they had for the Crop & Create. I don't know if anyone got exchanges or fixed them but I'll tag azcrafty and MichyM because maybe one of them remembers or took the class.

I don't know if anyone got exchanges or fixed them but I'll tag azcrafty and MichyM because maybe one of them remembers or took the class. It was in the March ‘22 C&C. I didn’t try mine yet (was in a sling during the event and just put the box aside!), but some people had problems with it. Going to FB to read a couple threads, some could line up the first two and the second two but not all four together. Others made a slight adjustment that fixed them. Still others said cutting the CS to 8 x 10.5 gave better results. (Hmm?) Taylor sent new ones to others who contacted her. Some of the cards on the C&C FB album look great, some are the barest bit off, can’t tell if it’s because of the user or stencils. There’s a chance that during manufacturing there was more than one little glitch, given different experiences. I’d still email Taylor and ask what her take was. She’s extremely customer focused.

Thanks for this tip. I tried again just visually lining the stencil up and it worked out perfectly! With the hexagon stencil, being off shows like an eyesore and since I’m a fellow perfectionist I’m much happier!

I find quite a few layering stencils I have from different companies don't line up with the registration marks. I always have to eyeball stencils, just in case. Specifically I remember my Quads hexagons didn't line up - I got them at C&C in March, too.

Interesting. I've always been intrigued by these and my interest was piqued again by the birthday card post in the Q4 thread.
I have the hexagons in a shopping cart at TE right now! I just checked and they have four 5-star reviews and no mentions of any alignment issues....
So if there was an issue with the C&C ones, it seems to be corrected maybe.

I'm pretty sure it was a known issue at C&C and they corrected it before the next production run. I remember talk about it here during the event. I bought this set last month and it didn't give me any issues when I tried it out.

Taylored Expressions is launching a Quad of the Month subscription. $99 for 3 months or $179 for 6. The only product included is the stencil, I believe, but they will be exclusive and not offered for general sale. No peeks, no skips, no returns as near as I can tell.

$99 for 3 months or $179 for 6. It seems really expensive for 4 stencils and nothing else. I like their stuff but $33/month is out of my budget.

They will definitely be for sale on AE for about $5 so that's where I'll get them if they are must haves. The Handmade House is one of my go to stores. www.aliexpress.com/store/1101824646?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.80.231a1802BR5lMe

Do you mean knock-offs of them?
I apologize if I'm being naive or something. I'm just not sure how else that could be.

I completely agree joblackford . Especially as many of the quad stencils seem so specific -- Christmas, Valentine's, even the celebrate on has one quarter with mortarboards. I don't need one of four cards to be graduation-specific. The triple slim offerings seem more versatile to me from what I've seen.

I've done a couple of the subscriptions that have been recommended here, and found that I'm just too picky about what I like to commit to things without knowing what they are :/ I like some of TE products a LOT, but also find that much of the product line is too fru-fru (for lack of a better word) for my taste.

One of the questions she answered asked if the stencils in the club were going to be holiday specific and Taylor said no. They were going to be generic themes so people who don't celebrate certain holidays won't have a problem.

I got slightly tempted at the last minute but reminded myself of what I wrote above and didn't click through. It looks like they'll offer another chance in 3 months for the second 3 months of stencils. Maybe once I see the first sets I'll reconsider. Did anyone sign up?

joblackford - I signed up for three months. I'll see how it goes and decide from there if I want to continue. I'm really hoping I like the designs. I'm a huge fan of the quads stencils. I mass produce cards for a local school and as fund raisers for a choral group I belong to, so being able to create 4 different card fronts at one time is my absolute favorite thing these days!

I’m again in agreement @jpblackford. If the first 3 knock my socks off/give me serious regret, I’ll consider the second. And then probably worry that they won’t measure up to the first ones It is a seriously inflexible set up!

BTW I saw mention of a TE buy sell trade Fbk group so maybe people can unload ones they're not keen on and if we have regrets about not signing up there's a chance to snag them. I'll remind myself that my arm hurts when I do lots of stenciling. That might cure me of any regret about not signing up.
