i know eyes are focused on the races in the swing states but i am particularly interested in the Governor's race in Texas. i'm wondering if Beto can pull out a win or if Greg Abbott hangs on. A Beto win would do my heart good. I'm so exhausted by the constant reports of malfeasance and cruelty in this country---and the people cheering it on. hope springs eternal and just the thought that he gave it a good try sits well with me.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's opponent raised $15,000,000. The race was officially called for her in 5 minutes.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump announced that she will be his Vice President and terrified of the combo.

Republicans will elevate her.

I know you are a Trump supporter, but do you think it is a good thing that someone like MTG is so wildly popular? Do you really think she is a politician who has the people of this country's best interest at heart? If so, can you share what good you think she has done or is going to do? If so, what specifically do you like about her, other than she is a Republican?

There have been several races called with 0% of the vote counted. Calling it for her that quick doesn’t mean she is a good person or that she will do a good job, it just means there are a whole lot of deplorables voting in her race.

Honestly I don't have too much hope. My family and I and our friends all did our part. I know Houston will go blue. But Texas. Oh, Texas. So many people here don't think beyond their own front door.a friend of mine is this way. she lives in southern california but confines her life to a five mile radius of her house most of the time. her political thoughts reflect whatever her husbands tells her. she doesn't watch the news and she doesn't want to hear about what is happening in the world. it's a very small town mentality in a huge, diverse metropolis. And suffice to say that not all people who live in small towns are like that, of course. But dang. I will never forget my sister scoffing at me for saying that marginalized people need access to healthcare, too. "The marginalized! Worry about your own family." Um, my family is fine for healthcare coverage and so is hers. So yeah, I'm worried about other people. I really don't understand why that's laughable.

She doesn't donate to any causes. She's wants no tax dollars going to homeless, immigrants, etc. She does not support affirmative action. I don't think she believe marginalization is real. I've known her since high school but I'm constantly amazed how our world view has diverged so much since then. I'm just glad we still have enough interests common to remain friends.

I couldn't live with or sleep at night with that level of "selfish'. I'm sure there are many many good people like so many peas I see here helping others- but how many Trump supporters are charitable? I saw some irritating interviews of maga people on YouTube and one woman said she loved Trump because he was 'such a kind man'. 😳 This kind man who made fun of the attack on Paul Pelosi and called Nancy an animal. Condoned the violence on Jan 6th. Leaves me speechless! Why has he still not been prosecuted? Is he Teflon?

He may react, threaten more and worse violence. Whatever Trump does, he is not going to handle it well. Not only did his candidates do poorly, Ron DeSantis did really well and is in the spotlight, a rising star of the Republican Party. Personally, I think DeSantis is even worse, a more polished Trump without the baggage. However, Trump can't stand to share the spotlight with anyone, especially a competitor. Maybe he'll move up an announcement, if he officially announces? I would count on more talk of an announcement, at a minimum.

I want to know where he got 219 wins? Is it possible he thinks he is personally responsible for the win of almost every Republican who won yesterday? Or that 219 is only in his head.

Stepping back... Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin sent a handwritten note to United States House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) on Wednesday apologizing for remarks that he made about the attempted assassination of her husband Paul with a hammer inside their San Francisco home on the evening of Thursday, October 28th. *** According to The Washington Post, "Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill confirmed that she received the letter, which was postmarked November 1st. He provided no further details, but said Pelosi had accepted the apology." The paper also got a text message from Youngkin's spokesperson with a statement that the governor purportedly gave in an as-yet unaired television interview. www.rawstory.com/glenn-youngkin-apologizes-to-nancy-pelosi-for-remark-about-her-husband-s/
