Added 4/3 I thought I'd bump this thread because I recently tried another product that I am super happy with. I'd heard about the Tim Holtz Black Heavystock (cardstock) for quite a while, but couldn't talk myself into spending the money (I think it's like $10 for 5 sheets). Anyhow, I treated myself and wow, it is a-mazing. I've found Lawn Fawn Black Licorice to be a very black CS, but the difference between the two is noticeable. The TH is like a dark velvet, and the texture is different from regular CS. I'll likely only use it for things like sentiments, either die cut or stamp in white on it in order to make it last. I tried several times to get a photo for you all, but black on black CS is hard to show in a picture. Just trust me How about you? Are you pleased with a new to you product? Let us know! Oh and also, I'm still super happy with the 3 things I originally posted about. ______________________________________________ OP:Are there new and/or new to you products that you’re super happy about and want to share with us? I’m all ears! For me, there are two products I bought last month that have made my card-making life better. The first one is this PICK UP TOOL from CTMH. I discovered it when visiting their site after C&C. Holy moly. It works every time. I had the marvey tool which drove me nuts. It comes in a set of two, and when the wax isn’t picking up well, just give it a quick sharpen and voila. I use it probably every time I make a card and I’ve only had to sharpen it once so far. The second is this HAMMERMILL PAPER. While it is the same weight as the Hammermill we got with our Crop and Create stuff, this is different. It is super smooth, almost feels like it’s lightly coated. I bought it a while ago and set it aside and forgot about it. I used it for ink blending this week and holy moly, HUGE difference. The ink just glides on so smoothly and beautifully. I’m definitely going to use it for ink blending moving forward. ** Has anyone been able to find this paper in a larger quantity? When I search the SKU I cant find it, and the only larger quantities are other Hammermill products :/ Oh, I thought of one more thing. I finally found 1MM FOAM TAPE in a large roll. Hallelujah! Most of the time I just want a little lift, and the 3M tape is so thick. This tape is fabulous! Your turn!

I’ve bought that 100lb Hammermill twice, from that same seller. Both times they sent me 80lb, which I find too thin. I was able to return it both times…but it’s a pain.

Thank you! It looks like there's a black version too. I find the 3M tape too thick too but usually end up using scraps of cardstock or packaging cards to save money and storage space.

I'm somewhat tempted to try it again...it does look like you are buying from the Hammermill store...maybe with my returns (and any others they might have gotten), they fixed the issue and will send the correct paper? They did pay for the return, I just had to print the label, find the box and take it to be mailed.
ETA - I see the photo says 100lb, but the description says 32lb...I'll wait. Paper shortage has to be resolved at some point.

I’ve purchased it and so has my friend. We both purchased the sold by/ships from Amazon. MichyMETA: I pulled that link from my order history.

I'm almost out of Neenah 80#. I plan on trying the Hammermill. The product I'm currently loving is the TE anti-static powder tool. The powder baggie lets out too much and the EK scratches the paper and smells. But the TE is a light dusting and doesn't have a smell.

Here is a photo of the three I have. The bag and the TE are each "pounced" three times and the EK was swiped three times.

I wanted to circle back to the Hammermill paper. Ryann kindly sent me some of hers, purchased by the ream at Amazon, thank you! Holding and bending and folding and comparing what she sent me from Amazon with what I purchased from SSS, they appear identical to me. I cannot feel any difference in the thickness of the paper, nor with the finish of the paper. So, rather than buying it $$$ from SSS, I'll buy it from Amazon from now on. Just a FYI in case anyone ese is interested in it.

For me, there are two products I bought last month that have made my card-making life better. The first one is this PICK UP TOOL from CTMH. Oh yeah, those wax pickup sticks are useful. AliExpress sells 'em as 'wax nail picker/pickup tool' or 'rhinestone wax dotting pencil' for a buck. One'll probably do you for life, well worth the purchase! Now if I could just remember to actually use it more often.
I grabbed a few makeup blending brushes recently and they're so soft; I haven't tried actually blending yet but looking forward to trying them out properly. I've also got a basic stamp platform incoming that I'll report back on when it gets here.
Has anyone tried both Hammermill and Accent cardstock? Which did you prefer?

Has anyone tried both Hammermill and Accent cardstock? Which did you prefer? I have both. The Hammermill is the best, hands down. It blends the best out of any I have - and I've tried a lot - and it also foils beautifully for those that have hot foil plates. The Accent is what I use for my bases, to attach my card fronts to. I don't want to waste my beautiful Hammermill on a base.

The product that I'm so happy I bought are the thin stencil brushes from AliExpress. I have very thin black ones, and slightly thicker white ones. PinkFresh and Stamp Market sell the white ones, too, but I bought mine way before they even launched theirs, so I don't feel badly about it. I also own a set of the PF ones and they're the same as the white AliExpress ones. These work beautifully for layering stencils, and apply a good layer of colour quicker so my arm/hand doesn't get as tired when I'm doing a bunch of cards in a row: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003769023805.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.11f538daIxye8O&mp=1

I used to be able to buy Hammermill cover stock at the local office supply store, and even Walmart. It was a LOT less expensive back then. Sadly, I haven’t been able to find it for awhile. I just about choked when I saw the current price on Amazon. It’s nice to be able to get it again, but it has also gotten really expensive!

Lumber/pulp prices have been kind of insane ever since Covid, unfortunately. I don't think they've come back down again much. Same thing with Graphix medium chipboard - it's tripled in cost since I bought it last. Thankfully I still have a pack in reserve but I'm dreading having to buy more at the current price.

They are so helpful on layering stencils. I’ve also gotten both from AE and the work great.

Has anyone bought the Hammermill from the link above recently? Every time I think about it, I can see on Amazon that I’ve bought that same one twice…both times I’ve had to return it as they sent me 80lb. I’d love to try again if some else has had luck.

It really is lovely paper.

If anyone is looking for 80 lb. Neenah, I have bought it at Office Depot/Office Max -- in 11x17 size, which is just two 8.5x11 sheets.

Domed blending foams by Ranger. I’d tried another company’s domed foam and didn’t like them as much. The Ranger ones are the tiniest bit softer, the top layer being same as their flat foams. TH pointed that out.
I’ve always liked the flat foams so was surprised that the domed ones made such a difference, and switched them all out. YMMV.

Everything crossed that what I get is what Ryann received, cuz the Hammermill she purchased from her link at Amazon was the same as the SSS Hammermill I have on hand so far as I could tell.
