 I had the chance to talk with Anne Dawson about this project and some of the individual quilts. Very inspiring to hear the lengths they went to in researching this quilt and recreating it. It was also interesting to see how different the same pattern can look based on choices by the quilter. Anne has published the pattern and it is available here: Lost Star Quilt PatternThe School of Lost Star by Sheila Bishop (WA). Sheila purchased the original Lost Star quilt in 2017. Her computer whiz son digitally recreated the quilt and developed accurate templates. This is her close replica of the original using modern reproduction fabrics. Definitely a love project! Special Sauce by Gail Goldade (Quilted by Krista Moser) (WA)  A Gentle Glory by Sheila Bishop (WA)  As Was - Photo on Fabric - Anonymous by Anne Dawson (WA) Original Lost Star quilt was photographed then professionally printed on fabric; hand quilted. The photographer used more than 600 photoshop layers to recreate damaged and missing fabrics. The result show what the quilt looked like in her former glory.  |
