Does anyone know?
I enjoy shopping with them. And I also like many of their (in house) designs. Overall they have a clean, modern aesthetic which generally speaks to me.
I hate that it often takes close to a week for them to process and ship my order. Just about anywhere else I shop (for anything) typically ships within 48 hours. The ONLY time I’ve had an order shipped quickly is when they are starting a sale the following day or day after. THEN, they magically ship quickly. I assume because they don’t want the hassle of customers asking for that sale price on their unstopped order.
I placed an order last night. I know, I know, I’m supposed to be on a spending freeze 😵💫🙄😉 I’m west coast. Anyone want to venture a guess when it’ll arrive?
In this day and age, it’s such an anomaly for businesses to be that slow to ship. I’ve only shopped with them for under a year, but I’m really “over it.” Has it always been this way with them? Does it affect your shopping habits?
Yes, I can be impatient…and thanks for listening to my rant. Want to add yours?

I don't order from them very often, because of the long time for shipping and because they so rarely have sales. BUT I do like that they don't have a minimum spend amount for their $5 off coupons. That being said, I did just place a preorder for some Gina K items that I could have ordered direct from Gina K and I'd have gotten them sooner, but Simon Says had a free set available, so . . .

Based on what others have posted here in the past, this is a common problem for them. I almost bought a few things last fall from them during their STAMPtember sale, decided the price wasn’t worth what I had in my cart, and that I could live without those items, so I have never actually ordered from SSS.
Most vendors that I have bought from online are usually pretty quick to ship. I assume that is why it is so frustrating. If other companies can manage to ship fast, why not SSS?
I hope the order was worth the wait.

I have always seen the posts here about SSS, so when I began ordering from them a while back, I went in knowing what to expect. Oddly enough, my orders, outside of a couple Stamptember sets from years past, have always shipped in a normal timeframe.
Not doubting your experience. So many people have the same issue, and have forever, so I believe it. Wonder why some stuff goes out in a timely fashion, and some not? Weird. Looks like it would be uniform for us all, one way or the other.

I placed an order on Tuesday and received it on Wednesday. I was pleasantly surprised. I do however live in the same area but it must have shipped the same day as ordered.

Wow, so you received it the very next day? That is fabulous! I’d like some of your luck please! I placed my order last night. If my prior experiences are any indication, it won’t ship until next Wednesday or Thursday. I ordered sparkly, glittery, fun holiday supplies. I’m excited to play with them, I’m typically not a sparkly kind of girl.

I only order from SSS if it's something I really want and it's on sale or it's a SSS branded product that I can't get anywhere else. I've haven't spent a lot on craft supplies this year and in those purchases I've been buying direct from the company.

It’s so hit or miss with me and SSS, but most of the time my experience is like yours. It will take so long, I forget what I ordered.

Same here. I forget what I order because it takes forever to get it. I hardly order from them now. Scrapbook.com is my to go place right now. Always fast shipping.

SSS was notorious for that slow processing a handful of years ago, although I heard that they improved, at least for a while. I only purchase from them if there's no other option because it would be a week or more waiting for them to pick and pack the order and then maybe another week for it to actually arrive and by that time I'm over it. I can handle the slowness of the actual mail traveling across the country (I don't love it but I get it) but IMO there's no excuse for not printing the order and getting the product off the shelf and into a box the next day or the day after. 1-3 business days is what I expect for myself when I ship something. Are they chronically understaffed?

I had a bad experience pre-pandemic with their international shipping where a card kit I ordered in November didn't arrive until mid-January and I haven't ordered with them since. Their responses to my emails at the time weren't super helpful and I don't remember an apology or anything. It might have been a one off problem, but since I only order products from the United States a few times a year I buy elsewhere.

Are they chronically understaffed? That’s my impression—that it was worse a while back. There haven’t been delays in my orders for quite a while, though I’d expect there to be during big sales or events. They’re not as speedy as some but have been fine. I recently purchased from two companies for the first time and was surprised by their speed, so maybe I’ve just gotten used to SSS’s slower pace too. The companies were The Funky Junkie Boutique and Whimsy Stamps. I had a question in both cases and the owners were so nice and thorough when responding.

SSS might be a bit slow at processing, but once shipped, it usually gets to me quickly.
I think, however, that I've found a more irritating and exasperating experience with Joann's processing and shipping. I have to shop online because they have very little they carry in store, but a lot they ship. They have a great sale going on. But, if you've ordered online for shipping from Joann's before, you probably know what I'm about to say. If you order multiple items, it is likely you will get multiple shipments from around the country which ship and deliver at multiple times. I placed an order for 14 items this past weekend. One of those items was for a quantity of 10, another item in a quantity of 2. So far, I've had Joann's cancel two of my items (no longer available but were when I ordered), the quantity of 10 has been divided into three separate shipments (one has not shipped yet), the quantity 2 item divided into two separate shipments, 4 items have yet to ship at all, and the others supposedly have shipped but no notice yet. Plus, I was supposed to have free shipping, but thus far all shipments have included shipping. It is very hard to keep track of what is coming from where and I need a checklist to mark off whether I receive all my items. So, good prices be damned, I just don't think I can go through another situation like this again.

The $2.99 or occasional free shipping that a pop-up message confirms has been applied to my cart never actually is applied. And sometimes the item shows available in one place but then it can’t ship. Luckily I haven’t ordered multiples like you have, but what a pain. Almost every time I’ve given up instead of buying.

I usually only order a ream of cardstock at J's but the shipping is always world record slow. I track the FedEx truck driving at a snail's pace through the most random towns in all the states between the MidWest and the west... takes forever.

I ordered two reams of cardstock this time around. One ream came yesterday. So disappointed, the ream is damaged and dirty. It came in a big box with a bunch of crumpled grocery bag style paper. I'm not sure I even want to bother with returning it, and just go with salvaging what I can (about 75%).

I'm having a similar shipping situation with Michael's that I posted about on the black friday shopping thread. One order, 7 items. Three items are the same and came in two different shipments. Four items are the same and came in two shipments. (Well still waiting on the last package, but it's on it's way) My problem with Joann's is the cancellations. When I order from them it seems that half my order gets cancelled.

I just want to amend this. I placed an order with SSS on Thanksgiving morning. With their sale and all, I figured I wouldn’t see it for close to 2 weeks.
It’s out for delivery today. That’s a very happy surprise! Apparently there truly is no rhyme or reason to the SSS order processing time.

I ordered Thanksgiving morning. It shipped the following day, Friday and arrived here on the west coast yesterday, Monday. Boy, if they could do this, or close to it all the time, they'd be my favorite forever!

I ordered from SSS on Sunday evening and my order is scheduled for delivery today, I was shocked. I’ve never had an order arrive that quickly from them. On the other hand I also placed an order with scrapbook.com at the same time and I haven’t received a shipping notice yet which is really unusual for them.

I ordered Nov. 24th and it’s still “processing”. I emailed this morning and did get a prompt reply which basically said, “sorry, product was delayed in transit”. It’s a Christmas tree die I wanted for tags for THIS year! Ugh.

And cancelling my order...Especially since they've probably already charged your credit card.
