My niece is coming over to make cards tomorrow. We are going to start with some PhotoPlay kits, and then move on to freestyle. I am not sure what I will focus on. I have a bunch of inked panels I did while crafting with my dgs this week. Have been playing with some knockoffs of the latest Hero Arts kit, and can use the panels for those.
I also have some panels I foiled a couple of weeks ago, a new tree cutting plate from Ryley & Co, and a Spellbinders set of dies for a sled and skates. Plus the Jaded Blossom Christmas add-on's for my gnomies.
I think I am suffering from PRO-CRAFT-INATION-- so many toys and ideas I don't know where to start first. But hoping that playing with the kits with another card maker will get the ball rolling.
What are you planning to do this weekend?

My dd (22) is home this weekend and wants to make her Christmas cards. We hit up the LSS for the right shades of cardstock and she’s made a first template/practice card. I’m just basically keeping her company and helping her find things she needs.

I'm having a heck of a time getting my cards done this year. I finished 25 last weekend but no motivation/plan for the other 50 I have to get done. I have too many ideas running through my head. I didnt narrow it down to 1 like revious years. Sigh.
Have fun getting your cards done this wknd!

I’ll be making Christmas cards. I need to decide on 4-5 different designs for the hundred or so cards I’ll make

I sat down with a few ideas and supplies the other day. I stamped some border stamps but no matter how I did them I was getting blank spots so that idea went out the window. It was too fiddly anyway and didn't look as nice as I'd hoped.
I inked a panel and embossed and it looked awful so I turned it over and tried a different method of inking and that was OK, but not great. I tried a bit more embossing and used a panel for a simple fun fold with a stamped sentiment, then realized it was still too many steps to mass produce and I didn't have enough of the holo-cardstock on hand. So all of that got shoved to the side.
Then I sat down with my iPad and tried to finish a drawing that I thought could be a card. Nope. Maybe I could carve a stamp with it? Maybe some day but not this week! So I imported some photos and chose between 2 options for photo cards and Persnickety is shipping them to me on Monday.
TL;DR: I gave up. But if I want to make some crafty cards for Peas and friends I can, but now I don't have to make 40 of them by Wednesday to have them ready to mail after Thanksgiving. I really hope everyone has fun making crafty cards! but I also share this to say that it's OK just to get something done, even if it's not your ideal plan.

Sounds like fun! I made a couple cards using that Spellbinders sled and skate die a couple weeks ago. Those cards took forever to make. I did like how it turned out but so many intricate pieces.
I thought I would continue making some Christmas cards this weekend but I only ended up finding more Christmas paper from last year and wondering why I bought more paper this year when I didn't even use all the paper pads from last year.
Oh well, good thing we have a couple more weeks to make cards.

I made 8 cards yesterday. 6 are of the same design. I am going to make 4 more of that design and then move on to another idea I have today. Just need some green paper as I ran out.
Need to Scrub the kitchen tile first. Ugh.

I didn't finish as many cards as I had hoped. We did the card kits as per instructions, first, and that got us each 8 cards. I then went freestyle and got five more done with extra papers and stickers from the kit and a few extra supplies. I needed a couple of bd cards, and since my niece brought me a bd card kit with her, I used it to construct two. i shared all yesterday's cards in the Gallery and in the Sharing Thread on the GS board.
This morning I started playing with a set of 3-D card toppers I received as a freebie at last month's crop. Today I hope to get them assembled and on to some of the card backgrounds I have created and selected from my huge Christmas crafting stash. They are kind of retro looking, so maybe I can use some of the foiled greetings I did a week or so ago.

I've been "PRO-CRAFT-INATITNG" for a while now. I got my first batch of Christmas cards done 2 weeks ago. I only just sat down to the next batch. I must finish them all this month if I want them received on time.

I made 25 Christmas cards this weekend. Between those and the SCT & Pinkfresh classes I think I have about 50-55 made. I think I need about 75-80 total for the Peas swap and my personal list.
I have been working in stages. I did hot foiling sentiments one weekend, stenciled backgrounds one weekend, made my card bases, die cut lots of bits, etc. Then this past weekend I was finally able to put things together and make some cards!
I don't do the same design for all the cards. I may have a few that are similar but not exactly alike.
I haven't stamped my inside sentiments but I'll likely batch stamp those once I'm all done.

Ten more cards this morning. I had hoped to do more, but managed to tip my Michaels' hutch when I was reaching for a stamp, causing a landslide of punches and stamp sets. Also spent about an hour diecutting sleds and skates from the Spellbinders set. I have enough of those to create five more cards, but ran out of time and patience. Not even halfway done yet...

I got a new stencil and I'm blending some pretty colors to make one layer cards for crafty friends. It's not exactly quick but it's not too complicated either. I already have my photo cards ready to go with help from Persnickety Prints. They sent me 28 instead of 25 which was nice, and they arrived really fast. I have about 10 people left to make for I think. I didn't want to get 50 photo cards and have extras, especially because they were pretty expensive.

Decided to go a little different route with the last thirty cards I need. I have the pieces cut--some diecut, some cut aparts trimmed from a 12x12 sheet. This weekend, I plan to glue the pieces together a few at a time, and diecut a bunch of greetings from stickyback cs. Then I can finish the cards off from a bowl of greetings. Never thought I would be an assembly line card maker, but I guess this week I am.
Anyone else still churning out the cards?

Grammadee, I love having the sentiments ready to go, all the stamping or cutting done ahead of time. Hope your assembly line feels like streamlining the process and not working in a factory. I spent the afternoon stenciling yesterday, then closed the stress cycle by tidying away all the supplies and setting up piles on my desk for signing today. I thought I had enough cards but this morning I remembered one more person I wanted to send to… but I will pull from my stash of WIP/experiment cards for that person. I’ve done my usual overthinking, second guessing, forgetting why I decided to send a crafty card instead of a photo card to specific relatives, etc etc etc. I’m exhausted! And once I updated my lists to account for some people I probably could/should mail to I could’ve ordered a second set of photo cards and not had any wasted. But I’m doing all this nonsense 3 weeks early this year, so that’s satisfying

I have to cut 50 snowflakes out for make the 10 cards. What was I thinking?! LOL Then tonight I will do another 20. My goal is to have all 71 cards done by tomorrow night so I can concentrate on December Daily and regular pocket pages.

Oh and the last few cards I have made (10 each) I get everything ready (card base, card front die cuts, stamped message) and then just crank out the 10 cards. I have done it this way for awhile especially when I need to do paper piecing for die cut images.

I think I finally have enough cards made to start addressing them for the 2Peas card exchange. I hope to do that today while watching football (GO COWBOYS). If I'm short I will happily make more!

Whew! I need to do finishing touches on a few final cards, but I now have all the ones I need for early mailing, and can happily go on to baking as my next big challenge. Cookies start tomorrow!
