I was just looking at the songs I have on my iPad and found I was automatically playing my favorites. And they have been for years.
They are…
Send in the Clowns by Judy Collins
You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’ by The Righteous Brothers
Killing Me Softly with His Song by Roberta Flack
Bother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show by Neil Diamond
Monday Monday by The Mamas and The Papas
I Want to Know What Love Is by Foreigner.
What are yours?

Hey now, Olivia was a country singer first, I listed a few of her country songs! I love old country music (He Stopped Loving Her Today, Old El Paso, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline). The new stuff I don't care for other then the odd Brad Paisley song and Randy Travis, but they both have a more classic sound. Well, RT does, the BP songs I love are the older sounding ones-Whiskey Lullaby, Waiting on a Woman, the Lion duet one. The new country stuff is terrible though. I bet there are more peas than you think that like Country Music!

There are a lot of people who like country music. I have country playlist and songs amongst all my others. I love Delta Dawn and I do have it on some playlist. Harper Valley PTA is one of my 2 shower songs (songs I sing in the shower). Two out of Three ain’t Bad by meatloaf is the other 😄 Others that I love just off the top of my head: when you say nothing at All - Alison Krauss Baby now that I found you - Alison Krauss Live life like you were dying - Tim McGraw Sweet Annie and That Highway 20 ride - Zac Brown Drinkin’ problem - Midland when I get where I am going and Whiskey Lullaby - Brad Paisley Strawberry Wine - Deana Carter

Too many songs to choose from but if I’m home by myself puttering around, doing housework, etc. I’ll ask Alexa to play songs by…
Jim Croce Simon And Garfunkel James Taylor Tracy Chapman Sarah McLachlan Justin Bieber
I really just like to sing along and enjoy many of these artists’ songs. Often wonder what Jim Croce would have done had he lived longer.

I love artists that are from every decade ... including Randy Travis! I have satellite radio in my car and listen to The Highway ... it's all new artists and so many are really good I will say that the fact that of the top three singles, two of the songs talk about trucks doesn't help country music stereotyping! ("Get In the Truck" and "Heart Like a Truck")

MCR Black Parade. Florence and the Machine and crowded house are on my current play lists. Don't have all time favourite music.
I tend to like artists of styles of music.

I listen to more Country music than any other. But it is mostly older Country artists like Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Gary Allen, I grew up on Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Ronnie Milsap, Johnny Cash and Tammy Wynette. I do like Thomas Rhett, Little Big Town and Midland for newer Country.

Hmmmm, let me see if I can narrow this down to a Top 10.....
Bow River - Cold Chisel Brunswick - Weddings Partiers Anything How To Make Gravy - Paul Kelly Throw You Arms Around Me - Hunters & Collectors Curtains - The Saints These Days - Powderfinger Lighthouse - The Waifs Dust Bowl Dance - Mumford & Sons Peaches & Cream - John Butler Trio Kosciusko - Midnight Oil
That was hard! The only way I could narrow it down to 10 is by only putting one song per artist in there. And I could have added any number of Beatles songs to the list. Interesting that 9 out of 10 songs are by Australian artists. I had to squeeze one non-Aussie song in there!
