I'm usually very quick to make a decision, but this not this time, I'm just not sure. A few weeks ago I decided to take a different bag to work, but now I think the new bag is too small, so I went back to the old one. I decided to clean it out today and found this. I'm not sure if it's still OK to eat? It wasn't refrigerated, but even though it's spring it's still been quite cool. I thought I'd better check with the peas. If you wouldn't eat it...do you think I could make a banana cake? I could try giving it to the cats, but they've never been very fond of banana.

I would not eat it as I don't care for overripe bananas.
I would use it in a banana nut bread recipe.
I never refrigerate a banana.

Sorry, I don't think there is enough "banana" on the inside of that peel to make any cake.

I would compost it. When bananas go a little ripe on the cupboard I freeze them for use in banana bread later, Three bananas is good for one recipe.

I love this pjaye, youāve raised a laugh from my depressed brain this afternoon. š It reminds me of the horrors Iāve found over the years in my childrenās bags. UK Peas will shudder at the thought of me finding a year-old Greggs Steak Bake in my DD's Kipling handbag. I confiscated all of the loose coins that were in beside it (many pounds' worth) and cleaned them in a tub of bleach. If it had been anything other than a Kipling bag it would have had to be thrown out, but I was able to wash it at a high temperature. Im not even going to think about the penicillin field that was an old peanut butter sandwich (unwrapped naturally) in my DSās schoolbag. š¤®

I can smell it from here! š š
Added to a smoothie, or sliced on peanut butter toast.

I'm pretty brave when it comes to should I eat this, but if that is mold on it, I don't think I would eat it. I appears maybe there is a crack in the peal, where the white is creeping in. Bananas are not that expensive, so I wouldn't have a problem tossing it.

Pjaye, it doesnāt look like there is much banana in that peel. I would cut it up and compost it if it was me. We compost year round.

I think you should gild it and turn it into a Christmas ornament.

I think you should gild it and turn it into a Christmas ornament. Another good idea. Like Mr Hanky the Christmas poo, this could be the Barney - the petrified Christmas banana

It looks like it still needs a couple more months of ripening before you eat it.

Iāve been looking at vegan/plant based recipes and several sites have recipes for banana peel ābaconā. Maybe this is an opportunity to try something new? I guess that assumes you donāt eat banana peel bacon on a regular basis⦠Hereās an example recipe. dailydish.co.uk/the-best-banana-peel-bacon/

I would not eat that with a fox. I would not eat that in a box. I would not eat it here or there. I would not eat it anywhere.
