No. I wouldn’t want to give a random gift to someone. I’d like it to have meaning. And sometimes someone doesn't want random gifts. I personally do not, and would also not be expecting anything.

I acquired this habit from my mother. I choose items from local businesses. Maple syrup or hard cider from local farms, hand dipped candles with a candlestick from a local potter, assorted chocolates from a chocolatier, Christmas ornaments... Most of my gifts could be given year round as hostess gifts.

Eww. No.
However, I did a lot of cross stitching years ago and have a bunch of finished ones that could be gifted if I really needed something along with a basket full of hats that I knitted because I had the yarn. Most mittens I knit are made for a certain person so I don't have spares. So in a pinch you could say I have extra gifts but I don't like surprise guests and wouldn't be a good host if I had some.

Not something I would do. I wouldn’t expect, or frankly want, gifts if were the guest either.

No If I have guests over this time of year and they arrive with a gift I just say thank you and consider it a hostess gift. I’ve never had anyone drop by my house unexpectedly to visit either.
