We’re coming up on the end of the year. Now that you can look back over the year how do you feel about what you accomplished, what you didn’t accomplish, what you bought or didn’t buy, how you organized, and the pictures you took? What would you like to improve on or do differently next year? Or are you happy and satisfied with your hobby as is? Is there anything new you’d like to try next year?
I always say I wish I got more layouts done but this year I’m pretty happy with how many layouts I completed. I didn’t track how many but maybe I’ll try that next year. I shopped much, much less in 2022 than I did in 2020 and 2021. I’m happy that I’ve slowed down on scrappy spending because my scrap space is pushing maximum capacity and it’s feeling unorganized. So next year I’d like to work on organizing. Next year I’d also like to get back to journaling more often. Right now I’m working on a small mountain of layouts that need journaling. I don’t like when I put it off because when I wait too long the journaling is rather bland. I’d also like to do more photo a day layouts and some month in review layouts.

i think did what i set out to do. i always wish i could do more but, as always, there is never enough time. i worked on projects and finished them in the timeframe set out so i'm proud of that. i did a bit more stamping which was good. i cracked into more stash that i was hoarding, also good.

I am extremely unhappy with my progress this year. I did hundreds of layouts, literally, but I took 5 times as many photos as were scrapped. I used to be extremely productive as a scrapper but this year at crops I had a whole lot of sit and stare time. I have even more unorganized product and that impacts my productivity in several ways.
I don't think I can be happy with my progress unless I am somewhat current. I mean like 6 months behind instead of years.

I'm happy with the amount of layouts I did this year but I still have a stack of them that needs journaling...so I guess they aren't fully complete yet.
I'm also happy with the cardmaking virtual classes I took this year. I feel like I've learned more techniques and I've definitely made more cards this year.
I did a purge of stamps that I never use and gifted those to my local senior center who was happy to have them.
I'd like to purge/evaluate more of my supplies in 2023 so that I am keeping only things I really love.

I moved my scrap space twice this past year and it didn't help my productivity or my organization.
My space was in my bedroom using part of my closet, but first there weren't any available outlets and the lighting was horrible. Second it was under the heat pump which was blowing in my face constantly. So I moved to the other side of the room under the window, except I was penned in between my table and my bed, and it just didn't work. So, I moved downstairs to a corner of our den/family room (closer to the computer!) and while I have plenty of tables, cupboards and desks, I don't feel like it's very organized and I'm consttantly digging for things... it's a work in progress.
Once I get things set up better to how I work, maybe things will improve...

I'm extremely happy with what I accomplished this year. Weekend retreats definitely saved my hobby and my mental health this year. I bought too much as always.
I hope to keep going to retreats in 2023. I'm in the middle of a craft room reorganization so I want to get that done and hopefully be a little more productive at home when I can. Things I'd like to change in the new year: Drop OLW project (maybe), drop all of my subs, use my stach, do PL digitally or print photos weekly/monthly to avoid a backup, use my stamps more, use my silhouette!

I reorganised my scrap space this year which makes it even easier to reach everything BUT I also bought (or DH bought for me) a bunch of stuff so my empty spaces aren't empty anymore. MOST of the new items aren't consumable (stencils, dies, stamps, ink pads (yes they are but not so much)) but I did acquire more PP and more cardstock and not so much on embellishments if you ignore my Pinkfresh box.
I have done a good job of using older stash which I'm happy about. I've tried new things - took Shimelle's stamping and stencilling class and a 4x6 sketch class -never done classes before and learnt new skills.
I've made a lot of layouts and cards but I've also had some stretches where creativity has deserted me. I don't think I accomplished as much as I had hoped as far as keeping up with current photos OR with scrapping my backlog but I think I always underestimate how many photos that involves. Didn't help that this year has several trips to scrap and DS finally sent me photos from the last few years. I AM almost caught up on photo printing so that's a win.
Next year? I want to finish catching up on photo printing - I think there's 3 trips that I've never printed (2 to DC and 1 to Atlanta). I really want to get at LEAST two trip albums done next year - there are quite a few that need scrapping. Get caught up on 2020-current in my album and my big kids album. And hopefully fill in some spaces in older albums.
Less shopping - hoping to stick mostly to adhesive, albums, page protectors, and cardstock (ONLY if I run of a colour). I want to use my Cricut and dies and stamps and stencils and embossing folders more - make my own embellishments if I don't have something that works rather than shopping for them.

I feel like I’ve treaded water all year - overall, not just with scrapbooking. I’m really glad I DID keep scrapping through it, albeit to a smaller extent than I had planned/hoped to.
I did a PL album. There’s a lot of journaling to be added, but the photos and framework is all up to date. I got a start on a Disney album i had put off for years. Those are wins! But I had a lot more i had intended to dive into.
I completely bailed on OLW. I wanted to do a summer mini to highlight our excursions. I bought everything for DITL and never did anything with it. I wanted to do WITL with an older kit I’ve hoarded, that didn’t work out either. There are some other things I fell down on too.
Good news is that the challenges that made this year difficult are mostly resolved, so very optimistic that 2023 will be more scrappy.

I am very happy that I consistently scrapbooked throughout the year, and I kept track of buying so I was much more mindful of my purchases, focusing just on what I really loved and getting satisfaction out of using some older supplies.
That said, most of what I was scrapbooking was 2021! I have a beautiful full PL album for that year supplemented by layouts of lots of special activities and moments. I have done NOTHING for 2022, except some photo printing. I need to decide what I am going to do for 2022. I love my 2021 album so much it was my intention to do the same thing for this year, but given that 2023 is just around the corner I need to decide if I am going to abandon going back and doing the PL spreads and just focus on making my layouts and putting them in chronologically. My photo taking in 2022 was also lacking, so I am hoping for better luck next year.
I did organize my small space a bit better and now have a really nice little spot to work. Next year I want to scrapbook more when I have time at home, keep focused on my PL spreads each month, remember to take photos, and keep up with the stash diving and tracking what I buy.

Very happy. I’m scrapping like crazy. I think showing them off in the sharing thread is very motivating. I have a lot more to share but I have to take the photos in daylight and I’ve been getting home after dark.
I ended up doing my scrapping in my living room but the scrap supplies have taken over so now I need to find a spot for the Christmas tree. You have to see the chaos to appreciate it.
I am always fighting between my urge to scrapbook and my urge to have a house that isn’t an explosion of scrapbook supplies.
But my output? Love it.

I love scrapbooking now, just as much as I did when I started 26 years ago. 2022 Still years behind. I am very okay with that. It will get done, when it gets done. Got quite a few pages done in 2022. Re-organized my scrapbook stuff and workspace area. Wish I could have bought more product, but finances are still limited. I was able to get a few things thanks to gift cards, and I did splurge on an ebay Daisy D;s purchase. I have enough in my stash, that I don't necessarily need more, I just want more . I passed on some newer products, because it was the responsible thing to do. Scrapbooking is not just my hobby, it's my therapy.

I was pretty dissatisfied with both my card making and scrapping productivity this year, although a lot of my mental bandwidth was taken up by things outside of crafty fun, so I'm not putting much guilt on myself over it. And next year will be tough in being so busy at work and adapting to being an empty nester in the fall, so we'll see if I improve in 2023. It's okay, I'm in this for the long haul and greatly appreciate having the time I want when I want it for the most part. And DH is very supportive in me doing it, so that helps. I'm super happy with my space and organization even though neither are perfect. My shopping was a bit more than needed, although I probably spent less than most years and did dig into my stash, which is important to me. I did 2 weekend crops that I was productive at, and for sure am adding in one, and possibly two, more in 2023 so I'm excited for that! In general, my photo taking has been down quite a bit, but it's part of the mental drain I had been dealing with. I'd like to improve that and if there is one thing I really want to get back on track, it's PL in 2023 (2022 is 1/2 done so that's my next focus, not even thinking about DD at this point for this year). Thanks for asking such good thought-provoking questions I enjoyed reading what everyone shared!

I am happy about it. 2022 was my return to scrapbooking after a super long hiatus- like 15 years or so! Maybe less. In 2021 I did a memory planner as I wanted to get a little crafty and record my year but didn’t know if I really wanted to “scrapbook” again. I recorded my whole year of 2021 in a memory planner and then decided to return to scraping via pocket pages, project life style, for 2022. For 2022 I kept current the whole year with my project life. I also started a couple other small projects but didn’t get too far but that’s ok, as PL is my focus and I’m getting getting my scrap footing again. I am also doing my first December Daily right now!
For purchasing I went way overboard. Way. Part was being excited about buying all the scrappy things again and put was actually needing some things. But 2023 will be the year of slowing my purchase roll and being more mindful of knowing how much I already have and making a budget fie myself.
For next year I’d like to buy less as I already said, continue to keep up with PL, finish this 2022 DD album , and do more in the other small projects I had started.

I am happy with my progress and pocket layouts made. As well as all the cards and other projects I did.
I don't set a goal. I just scrap and craft when I feel like it. Then I don't feel like I didn't accomplish what I set out to do.

I had a lot of fun this year.
I started out scrapping our Disney trips in 9X12. In the past I had only done a yearly travel album and a DD. But this year I had more time (yay graduation). I needed to relax and play with paper and I did.
I did a travel album of our trip and WITL. I also did October Daily and I loved it. Now I'm doing DD. It's going very slowly but I hope to pick up the pace a bit next week when I can take a day off of work.
I won't do WITL next year unless the products slay me. It's a LOT of work and I was not feeling it by the end.
I hope to pick up the Disney scrapping again next year, if just to finish the year I was working on. I think I had just one more day to finish (but that's like 10 layouts maybe). I also never scrapped a Hollywood studios day from a different trip. Mainly because I don't have a lot of harry potter-ish supplies and I don't want to buy anything licensed.
I don't want to burn out. I want to read more books and I'm hoping I can make that happen.
But I'm so happy that I started to play a bit more than ever before. I bought stencils and paste. I mastered my silhouette (for the most part). I learned some new tricks. I hosted two swaps. I got my DD stuff organized. I did more stamping.
It's been good and I owe so much to the Peas who know everything and are so generous to share your knowledge.

I finally got back to scrapbooking after a difficult 2020 and 2021. I did a few layouts. We just aren't taking many photos. We aren't traveling much and I've scrapped all the day to day stuff. I am pleased to be back to it but wish I was more motivated to do layouts again. Cardmaking and watercolors have taken over my papercrafting.

I had my worst year of scrapping since I started. We moved a little over a year ago and my room is all set up, but now it is two flights downstairs as opposed to right on the same level as my bedroom. Also, I really do love my new house and yard and I have spent a lot more time getting the house the way I want it including an entire kitchen renovation as well as upgrades to property. I have also found that I have many new animal friends that I want to photograph, both of my sons got married and I've been a little busier than normal. Pretty much all good things are keeping me busy. That being said, I need to get 2021 finished and a good start on 2022. Here is one of the reasons I spend more time outside. His name is Ron. He got some birdseed one time while I was filling my feeder and has become a frequent visitor. He's super chill and once he realizes that I'm not going to feed him, he gets closer and really seems to want you to know he is hungry. Then he brings his ladies back with him and tries again. Here he is with my DIL.

I am the slowest scrapbooker ever, so I didn't get enough pages done. Seriously, I don't know how YouTube scrappers get so much done! Yesterday I spent 6+ hours working on a complex (for me) double 6x8 spread for my December Daily. Today was better, but I still spent 2 hours on a fairly simple double page...even while repeating to myself Ali's mantra: "Progress not Perfection."

I actually had a really good year... I've never been one for PL but wanted something smaller this year so I just did a daily journal with pics, journaling and lots of stamping in the bigger 6x8 TN's. I'm really bad at scrapping our travels, we did a Christmas cruise last year and typically leave Alaska every other winter so I have bags and bags of memorabilia and fun things from travel so I hope to atleast make a travel TN in the new year for that.
I always do DD but since we traveled last year I didnt do one so that'll probably be first in 2023.
I did spend less $ this year, I have a scrapping "business" so I can claim all my purchases as tax deductions... I'm just very frugal or $ aware maybe??
We just built a new house and are selling our current one so we'll be moving in the next 2 months which is a bit sad as I just got my craft room set up the way I wanted it here. The new house has an office & craft room right off my bedroom but now that I work from home I might not want to spend as much time in the "office".
My husband's a contractor so we designed and built it ourselves knowing we wanted the office and craft room there but after starting the build I started my new job which is a lot of home office work... I hope it works out and I'll still want to spend time in my office/craft room. If anyone else shares their craft room with their office I'd love tips on how to mentally separate the two.

I can take hours on a page as well. A lot of mine is elapsed time because I lay out the product one day, then come back to it and start putting things together. Then I may step away for the day to see what is missing. My YouTube videos may be interpreted as though I do it all at once but that is seldom the case. If people look closely, they will see I'm wearing different shirts in different parts because it was filmed on different days.

I’m happy to have gotten my stash more organized. And I am happy with the layouts I created; I like the way they look and feel I did the photos justice. However, I didn’t succeed at completing a layout a week which was my goal.
I’m trying not to guilt myself over it and just let things be.

I’m happy with what I accomplished to the end of July, then the wheels fell off the bus and I’ve accomplished little since then.
That’s one of my new year’s goals, get back to doing some scrapping.
I am doing JYC, however, I am only doing the journalling every day and I add pictures later. For example I journaled about our tree, but it is not up yet so I will go back and print the picture later.

I feel really good about most of the year. January through September were very good, then life intruded in October with vacations, holidays, etc and I have only completed 6 layouts in the last 2 months. Hopefully, after the holidays, I can get back into my scraproom on a regular basis.

After not working for 2+ years and essentially retiring early, I went back to work full time in May, and then transitioned to a part time position in July. My crafting time has decreased dramatically since I started working again. I’ve done very little scrapbooking, especially compared to 2020/2021. I’ve increased my card making a lot thanks to the seasonal card exchanges hosted by tc this year. I really enjoyed them and will continue participating if they exist in 2023. In looking ahead to next year, there are some big life changes coming up that will affect how much crafting time I will have. DW retires next summer and we’re moving as soon as the house sells. I will need to decide if I’m going to re-retire, or take my job with me when we move.

I didn't spend nearly as much time as I wanted to scrapbooking.
On the plus side, I have my own space! I moved and it was a must have.
On the down side, I have had no time in 2022. DH passed away in February, I moved in May, my grandson moved in with me in September. I'm hoping to get more happy time in my scraproom. I need to make it a priority.

I think I may have scrapped a few pages at the beginning of the year before I realized I needed to sort my photos (1998 through 2010) before I could continue. So, most of 2022 was a photo organizing year. It's crazy that it took as long as it did, but it wasn't a project I could do at home easily, so I ended up hauling it all with me to a monthly crop. We meet in a church social hall, and I took up two six foot tables to myself! I still have a handful of stray photos, but for the most part it's DONE and I can use 2023 to start scrapping again My only big obstacle now is that the non-use of my craft area (attic loft) has led to it being used as a dumping grounds for the DDs and myself. DH and I also bought a new bed and brought the old one up to the attic to replace the twin we had there for guests, so that's more square footage lost. I think I'll start the year with some organizing challenges and then take it from there

Scrapping is something I do for fun, so whenever I get to play with paper I am happy. Was able to spend time with all my kids and all but one of my dgk's this year and I have the photos to prove it . Lots of photos scrapped, and more waiting to get onto pages. The dgk's still ask when I come, "Did you bring your scrapbooks?" so it is still fun to scrap their pages, thinking of their reactions when they see them. Have way too much scrappy stuff, but keep buying when I see something that looks like fun. In 2023 I hope to continue livin' the dream...

I tried and stalled out several times in 2022. So I let it go. It was a bad year and I don't ever know if I will go back and scrapbook it. I think I've finally worked through some things. I feel like I am Ina much better place now and I'm doing journal your Christmas and I wasn't sure if I would scrapbook this month but now I'm really leaning toward the fact that I do need to do it. For my own peace of mind.
I'm 2023 I plan to resume my project life. I feel I'm ready again.
I have let my disappointment over not scrapping 2022 go.
