We go until the 21st this year. My friend in Wyoming is out this Friday and back January 2nd. I do like having the bulk of my break (teacher) after the holidays. What would be your perfect break (or your kids' break.)

My husband and son are teachers. Both are out starting Monday through New Years Day.

DH’s first day of break is the 22nd.
I like it when the majority of break is after Christmas. I feel like we spend any break time before Christmas just running errands and doing chores for Christmas, so it will be nice to have a long break that actually feels like a break this year.

My kid's last day is the 23rd and back the 9th. No snow days in So Cal and we always get 2 weeks during the winter break. I'm happy it is mostly after Christmas as we travel after the holiday so this gives us more time.

last day is 21st first day back is the 10th
I'm happy it's after Christmas this year because my two older kids will be coming for two weeks starting just after Christmas so she'll have more time with them

Twenty second until the 3rd. Most schools around here get out on Friday. I don’t know why my school district sucks.

Usually the last day is the 23rd and the return is Jan2.

I got both worlds here. My high schooler has her last day tomorrow (15th, so first day of break is the 16th) and goes back on the 3rd or 4th, can't recall exactly. Meanwhile, my middle schooler is a part of a school district in another city and his last day is the 21st and he goes back on the 9th or 10th. I always prefer having more days before Christmas, to bake cookies or wrap gifts or other fun things. I'm not a teacher, though, so I only get half a vote! And artbabe definitely is the loser this year! I'm so sorry, that sucks! |

Southern Ca. Dh's district and ds' district both get 3 weeks.
Dd gets 4 weeks with her college.
Majority of districts in my area get 3 weeks off.

We are out starting at dismissal this Friday. We go back January 3.
I can't believe so many places are going back on January 2.
Since January 1 is on a Sunday, the Rose Parade and all the traditional New Year’s bowl games are being played on the 2nd - as they ALWAYS are when January 1 falls on a Sunday. There are no bowl games played on January 1 this year. Are all those people really expected to miss many of the traditional New Year’s Day events?

Oldest is done with college semester as of today; youngest finished his middle school semester today too. Poor middle dd has finals through Fri.
Middle schooler goes back Jan 5. Not sure for college two but it’s a week or two later.
Honestly this is a great break for youngest; he gets a week off before we travel for the holidays, then a few days after New Years and a short week return to ease in!

Our last kid day is tomorrow. Teachers have a workday Friday. Teachers go back 1/2 and kids come back the next day.
I would much rather work next week and have the first week of January off. That’s what our original calendar had, but a bunch of parents complained and they ended up changing it because they figured the attendance would be awful next week anyway.

I teach on a modified calendar so my break is a bit longer than those others in my school board ... My last day is December 22 and I go back on January 16 ... I need this break!!!!   |

My high schooler is done the 21st and will go back on the 3rd (due to NYD holiday being on Monday, Jan 2 this year). Public school kids are off the 16th and go back the 3rd, I believe. DS had the whole week of Thanksgiving off tho, not just the three days they normally get.
My college kid is in exams thru the 20th. She has an exam every day at 8am, except her Saturday exam is at 1:30. So she will finish up on the 20th and the school is offcially closed on the 21st. Yet, lots of kids that go to the same university are coming home now. I am just surprised so many professors aren't giving final exams. She won't go back until Jan 22nd or so, with classes starting on the 25th.

I just looked it up and it appears that tomorrow is the last day and they go back Jan 3. That is a very early break!

Last day is Friday and go back the 2nd.
I would prefer more time after the holidays because now we have a week of nothing before Christmas and trying to fill the kids time with something to do and get ready for the holiday.

I am a teacher. Our last day is the 20th. We go back Jan. 4th for staff development. Students come on the 5th.

Usually the last day is the 23rd and the return is Jan2. You guys go late. We did this one year and anyone that had to travel really struggled. Ever since then, it is about the week prior to Christmas. |

Tomorrow's our last day, and we go back on the 3rd.
I hate when Christmas is in the middle of break. I much prefer it to be at the beginning! I was so hoping we'd go through next week, then have the first week of January off, but oh well. Maybe next year.
