I was curious when trump was going to start holding his “massage his ego” rallies again. I’m guessing he will turn them into “I’m the victim here” rants.
I mean he announced he was running for President and then disappeared from site.
And his website which normally listed his events had none. They even removed the title “Events”.
So I found this from Politico…
”Former President Donald Trump is planning to hold his first public campaign event of the year in South Carolina, in what aides are portraying as a first step into a more public phase of his 2024 White House run.
Trump is slated to make an appearance in late January in Columbia, S.C. It will not be a rally, his advisers said, but will be a more “intimate” event where he will roll out his leadership operation in a state which hosts a key early Republican primary contest. Trump’s advisers are casting the plans as part of a gradual build-out of the former president’s campaign, following a relatively private month-and-a-half since a November launch that coincided with the holiday season.”
An “intimate” affair says to me he’s not sure if his base will turn out in big numbers. His ego couldn’t handle a rally where few people came.

Truth…
I think what people are missing about this mess is the Biden people could have destroyed those documents and no one would be the wiser for it. I mean nobody knew they were missing. But they didn’t.
IMO there are members on both sides of the media trying to make this a bigger mess then it is at this point by speculating and doing it without knowing the facts.
There is investigation, and unlike trump, I’m pretty sure President Biden and his lawyers won’t be throwing up obstacles in the course of the investigation they way trump & company have.
Once the investigation is done hopefully we will get the facts of what happened.

I stopped watching election coverage because of that (I mean, endless hours upon hours of speculating on who will win? How is that useful, when they don't have an answer?). So much of the talking heads-type newsish programming is just that. I miss Walter Cronkite.

The White House and Democrats should do exactly what trump and the Republicans did when asked for information. Give the Republicans the finger.

Just one more thing about TFG and documents. There were documents in his personal desk drawer in his personal office WITH his passport! He had documents OUT in his personal space. He admitted he had documents and claimed them as HIS.
Biden's documents were in a locked closet in a locked room as well in the garage area locked in with his Corvette. Seems to have not seen them since he left as VP.
Totally different circumstances!!

My guess is he wants to run for president. Best way to make sure President Biden doesn’t run is say something like this. If Schiff does run, I will not be voting for him in the CA primary.
Headline from ABC News…
“Biden classified documents need to be reviewed for national security risks, Schiff says”
"I'd like to know what these documents were," Rep. Schiff said on "This Week"

Back to gas stoves... Local paper. Turncoat Van Drew... Changed party to TFG.. shows! But they can tell us what to do or not do in our bedrooms and living rooms, homes... U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey released a statement Wednesday saying he would introduce legislation to stop federal agencies from banning gas stoves.“This move from a Biden appointee to suggest that gas-powered stoves could be banned on a nationwide basis is effectively telling these Americans what they can or cannot do in the privacy of their own home,” said Van Drew (R-2nd Dist.). “The American people are tired of unelected Washington bureaucrats attempting to dictate their daily lives. If Congress does not put pressure on this administration and fight these proposals head-on, Democrats will continue pushing these radical ideas until they become federal law.” On the U.S. Senate side from the Democrats, Sen. Headline from ABC News… “ Biden classified documents need to be reviewed for national security risks, Schiff says”"I'd like to know what these documents were," Rep. Schiff said on "This Week" my OPINION, admittedly without any formal expertise: Joe Biden most likely will not win a 2nd term in the general election if just 2 major candidates run. There’s just too much to throw at him, right or wrong, fact or fiction, there’s just too much stuff to throw to see what sticks. And we all know alternative facts count for something for like %47 of the population. Between the speaking mistakes they’ll run over & over, inheriting the falling pandemic economy and inflation and now classified documents ( whether it’s apples to apples or apples to squirrels comparison ) it’s just a field day for the gullible. Dems needs to move on if they expect to win the presidency in 2024. They just have to. A 3rd non traditional candidate changes my opinion entirely though. At that point all bets are off.

Do you even know? I can think of 7 off the top of my head, without even googling, Hardyston, Rahway, Newfield, Paterson, Stafford, Vineland & now the one in Ewing. Although Hardyston was propane. One closed a school, one injured a passerby in their car in the street. I can’t say that it hasn’t crossed my mind several times in the last few years that maybe we haven’t regulated this industry properly. It’s inspected when it goes in and that’s that, no one comes to check the aging piping. www.northjersey.com/story/news/new-jersey/2018/11/01/nj-gas-leak-explosions-old-natural-gas-pipes/1716546002/

When people talk about natural gas and explosions then tend to forget or ignore this one in San Bruno, CA.
“SAN BRUNO (AP/KRON) — Ten years ago, a natural gas pipeline explosion killed eight people and destroyed dozens of homes in the San Francisco suburb of San Bruno, California on September 9.
A 30-inch natural gas pipeline owned by Pacific Gas & Electric exploded in the Crestmoor neighborhood in 2010. The California Public Utilities Commission fined the company $1.6 billion and PG&E has spent hundreds of millions of dollars settling victims’ lawsuits.
Jurors convicted PG&E of obstruction and five counts of pipeline safety violations, including failing to gather information to evaluate potential gas line threats and deliberately not classifying a gas line as high risk.”
Add the potential for explosions to the stuff released by the gas when used that affects kids with asthma one wonders why people would want to continue to use it if there are alternatives that don’t go boom and make kids sick.
Cities in CA have been banning gas appliances in new builds for a couple of years now with no outcries.
This whole thing was nothing but manufactured outraged over basically nothing. It seems to be happening a lot these days in this country.

ABC did a piece on the history of the Presidential Records Act.
This part stood out to me.
“Violations of the Presidential Records Act are seldom pursued and even more rarely prosecuted, making for little precedent in these matters. Prior to the appointment of a special counsel for Trump's probe, legal experts told ABC News they were skeptical that the DOJ would take the unusual step of seeking criminal charges against a former president for violating the Presidential Records Act.
Trump, who is running for president for a third time, has dismissed the DOJ's investigation as "political" and defended himself as "innocent."
The Biden White House has said an investigation will show the classified materials were "inadvertently misplaced, and the president and his lawyers acted promptly upon discovery of this mistake."
And the reason it did is because once again thanks to trump we as a country have to change how things are handled.
Based on the bolded part it would seem there were individuals who had access to classified documents while in office and inadvertently or deliberately took the documents home. When discovered these folks had the classified documents they were turned over to the NARA. And nothing was said, doesn’t sound like there was any investigations, they were just given to the NARA case closed.
But with trump when it was determined he had , inadvertently or deliberately, taken more then a few classified documents to MAR he threw a hissy fit when the NARA asked him to return the classified documents that lasted from May 2021 until a Special Counsel was assigned to the investigation in November 2022.
Now President Biden is caught up in this mess because of the timing of when his lawyers found the classified documents , that the NARA didn’t know was missing until the Biden lawyers contacted them. Classified documents from the time he was VP 6 years ago.
My point is this if trump hadn’t been such an ass and turned over the all the classified documents when asked then this would been much ado about nothing and it would have been treated as mistake on whoever packed the boxes.
But now that we know people like trump who don’t respect the norms on how things are done or think they don’t apply to them can get elected the NARA is going to have to put a tighter grip on all documents marked as classified. Maybe evev do the packing of all documents to make sure no classified ones are included.
And President Biden when doing the right thing of turning over the documents when found is collateral damage because of trump’s actions.

Immediate help, turn on the exhaust fan while using a gas stove. maybe, I’m not saying to ban gas stoves. And I doubt that the democrats are either, I haven’t e en seen a bill for any changes in regulations. But I do feel that for the dangers that do exists the industry is rather poorly regulated and the public is rather uneducated about the risks vs efficiency of various cooking methods. I wish that there could actually be an informative interaction about it but that will never be with politicians making stupid, untrue, sound bites & memes.

He’s right. The idea that either party should hold the other party and the American People hostage to get what they want is fundamentally wrong. Especially when it comes to something like raising the debt.
From MSNBC
“Democrats respond to GOP calls for debt ceiling negotiations: No”
“In exchange for not crashing the United States economy, you get nothing,” one Democratic senator said. “You don’t get a cookie."
From the article…
“Those perceptions will be profoundly wrong.
What makes the debt ceiling qualitatively different is that this isn’t a policy dispute. What Republicans are doing is manufacturing a hostage crisis, effectively telling Democrats that the GOP is prepared to harm Americans on purpose unless their demands are met. For all intents and purposes, it is a Republican extortion scheme.
If the new House majority wants to try to pass a bill through the American legislative process, pursuing cuts to public investments, it’s welcome to try to do so. But declaring that they’ll crash the economy deliberately unless Democrats meet their demands is an indefensible tactic that cannot be tolerated.
“I don’t know why President Biden says he’s not going to negotiate,” House Freedom Caucus Chairman Scott Perry recently told ABC News.
As it happens, there's no great mystery here. Not to put too fine a point on this, but it’s not just that the president won’t engage in talks with Republican hostage takers, it’s that he can’t: To negotiate with those threatening Americans is to encourage others to threaten Americans.”

Their current social security plans... Republicans want you to work until you die," the progressive advocacy group Social Security Works tweeted Sunday. "Shameful." Max Richtman, president and CEO of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, wrote in an op-ed for The Hill last week that "America's seniors cannot afford benefit cuts, including raising the eligibility ages for future Social Security and Medicare beneficiaries." "Of course, the public is not demanding that Social Security and Medicare be cut. Quite the opposite: both programs remain overwhelmingly popular. A large majority of voters (83 percent) across party lines say they want to see Social Security expanded, not slashed, with the wealthy contributing their fair share in payroll taxes," Richtman continued. "Nevertheless, McCarthy has empowered a handful of ultra-MAGA members to dictate policy for the new House majority." www.rawstory.com/republicans-social-security-cuts/

The Atlantic wrote a piece about the Supreme Court.
This one little part stood out to me…
”Alito said suggestions that SCOTUS is “becoming an illegitimate institution” amount to questioning the justices’ “integrity” and cross “an important line.”
The idea the American People shouldn’t question the “integrity” of the justices is ridiculous. They aren’t someone special regardless what they may think. The American People have every right and fact should question the integrity of the justices if they feel they should.
There are groups of people who think they deserve more respect then anyone else just because of who they are. Phooey.
I was watching a program the other day that had courtroom scene. And when the judge entered the room someone said “all rise”. Why?
Much has been made about Meghan’s first attempts to curtsy to the Queen. Why should anyone have to bow and curtsy to anyone else? Be polite for sure but none of this bowing and curtsying stuff.
The justices, judges, heads of state and monarchs are just not that special. They are like everyone else when it’s all said and done.
