SPECIAL CHALLENGES FOR QUARTER ONE 2023:
January: Happy New Year! Sometimes it is hard to Just. Get. Started. Give yourself TEN points for the FIRST page, FIRST card, FIRST crafty project you finish in January.
February: 28-4-28: February we will be playing along with a new challenge with a twist every day for the month. Earn FIVE points for meeting the challenge + a BONUS of TWO points if you meet the twist on the same project. Bonus points may be included in the challenges. Bonus 500 points for completing ALL 28 challenges on or before March 7th.
Q-1 Photo Challenge: The photo challenge will be posted in a separate thread. There will be 30 photo prompts which you may interpret any way you like. POINTS: take a photo meeting one of the prompts, earn a point. Share the photo in the challenge thread for a second point. Scrap that photo during Q-3 for a third point. BONUS: Snap all the photos in one month, earn a bonus of 150 points; (reset after that month to try for the bonus for another month); if you snap a photo for each of the prompts in Q-1, earn a bonus of 50 points.
W-1: Sketchy Saturdays. Complete any of the posted Sketchy Saturday challenges for 5 points. Complete ANY THREE of them for a 20 point bonus. Meet TEN Sketchy Saturday Challenges during Quarter ONE for a BONUS of 100 points!
MONTHLY challenges
M-1: Donna Challenge. donna was a Pea who passed away much too soon. We all remember her desire to complete her family scrapbooks at the end. To honour her, we credit photos, scrapped, pages completed and meeting scrapbooking goals. For the Donna challenge, earn
One point per photo scrapped.
Ten points per page created with each monthly theme. Bonus of 25 points for meeting all three monthly themes.
M-2: Paid by the HOUR Challenge.
Whether you craft with paper or cloth, glue and photos or mixed media, yarn or ink: earn TEN points for every hour spent crafting. Double your points per hour if you are crafting with another person, whether in person or on line. When you finish a project of ten hours or more, give yourself a BONUS of ONE HUNDRED POINTS!
Earn TEN points for every hour you spend organizing your crafting supplies or cleaning/reorganizing your craft space
M-3: Card Challenges
• Sheetload of Cards Challenge posted by azcrafty . One point per card + TEN points for completing the set. Plus a BONUS of TEN points for meeting each month’s special challenge.
• Twelve Card Challenge posted by Eddie-n-Harley . One point per card, TWENTY points per dozen cards created in any one month. BONUS of TEN points per dozen if you meet each month’s theme.
BONUS of FIFTY points for completing ALL THREE monthly challenges of either of these card Challenges. (So at least one set of SLoC for each of the three months, OR at least one dozen cards per month)
M-4: Pokey Peas Challenge posted by nylene . Points explained in the challenge
"PRODUCTS" (like chipboard. thickers. stickers. metal. glittery things. nuvos. enamels.)
"SHAPES/ICONS" (hearts, hexagons, cameras) The shapes might include embellishments, photos, mats, pages or cards. Icons include any image on pp, diecuts, stamps, etcthat you are challenging us to use: like "hearts" or "cameras" or "animals" or even "random", for example.
"COLOURS/MOODBOARDS"
"TECHNIQUES" (like stamping, tearing edges, die cutting, sewing, clustering)
"WORDS/ Titles" (like journaling challenges, using certain letters or words in your title or on your page, etc.)
"THEMES" (birthdays, anniversaries, pets, outdoors, seasonal, vacations, etc)
"NUMBERS/SIZES": challenge us to use extra large or extra small photos or titles or other elements, use numbers on the project or a specific number, OR a specific number of layers, or clusters or other items. (Don't forget that ZERO is a number, so "Look Ma, no pp!" fits into this category.
"RECIPES" (This might include a spelling challenge, like "Use all the letters in the word JANUARY in your title", or "Use items that start with all the letters of WINTER on your project", OR any specific combination of elements)
"OTHER" (using kits. scrap-lifting. cardmaking. spending)
POINTS:
All the points earned by a team member will be added to the team’s grand total.
Earn one point for your team each time you:
*set a challenge
*create something no matter the size.
*share a photo or scan of that creation with us.
POINT SCORING AND BONUS:
Flat number of points for each creation, depending on its SIZE
20 points for every creation that is at least 8”x11”.
15 points for each creation that is between 5”x7” and 8”x11”
10 points for any creation smaller than 5”x7”
Q-1 challenge list: Print a list of challenges. When you meet a challenge for the first time in the month, check it off. The challenge is to see how many you can meet! At the end of the month, count your checkmarks. One point per checkmark.
BONUS points: how many challenges did you tick off in 1 month?
10 = 25
20 = 100
30 = 200
40 = 300
50 = 500
60 = 650
70 = 800
80 = 1000
all of them = 1500
Next month start over with a clean slate and see how many challenges you can meet that month.

Please note: the only challenges with the chance to earn multiple points will be the “Special”, “Weekly” or “Monthly” challenges above. When you meet one of these, you can also check it off for your monthly total. Points for the Donna Challenge, Photo Challenge, Sketchy Saturdays, 28-4-28 will be as outlined in the challenge, but you can also check them off to count towards your bonus
Card multiples: If you create multiple cards with the same design (let's say 10 for this example), you can show us ONE of them. Then you would claim 10 for creating and 1 for sharing before going on with other points. (11 points in the example)
* EASY PEASY, just go by points for that size (let's say 15 in this case) and multiply by number of cards (10), add on your points for creating/sharing (11) and your total would be 161 points for ten cards.

NEW FOR 2023! Each challenge is worth only 1 point. For each month this quarter, you meet a challenge once, you check it off and score one point. Simple. At the end of the month, count up your check marks and calculate your bonus as per the Rules thread. Then the following month, you will be able to start checking them off again.
