Cleaned out the fridge some. Threw away stuff that has been opened and since turned sour.
Also added about 10 items to donate box.
Flea market we are in is having an open house Saturday. Plan on taking some stuff down there tomorrow. Haven't made rent yet and I am starting to panic a touch. (Think we lack $50. Last weekend wasn't as good for us as I had hoped).

I rearranged our basement at the beginning of the week and now have a space to do pottery that is not my home office--because those two don't mix well! In the rearranging, I culled our board games and also found a big box worth of random household 'stuff' to donate. I can't wait for it to be warmer here so I can spend an hour in my garden shed and get rid of a bunch of pots and old furniture! I also went through all of my writing notebooks and binders and found some old ideas and pieces to revisit, and also condensed everything into one binder--hopefully that makes it easier to find that *one* really good idea that I just *know* I wrote down when I'm having writer's block

Apparently a family friend bought a ton of discarded road signs for my Dad to sell. Dad's going to go get them soon. Thankful they can be stored in shed. I am trying to clean up my room. It's a mess.

A woman on Facebook was collecting clothes for foster kids which gave me an excuse to go through my son’s clothes. Big bag ready for her to come pick up.
I also had a box of USPS mailing supplies from when I used to sell on eBay. I took most of them to the post office. I won’t use them as most were pre flat rate boxes.

I took off about 5 bags of recycling and the grocery bag of meds to the drug take back event the PD was having. Glad to get it all out of the house.
Not sure how it's done in other states but AR has a drug take back event state wide 2x/year. My town also has one or two drop boxes for year round drop offs.
Now I am going to try to continue purging craft stuff. Hope to make a big donation to local, public residential school. (It's for 11-12 graders, maybe 10th too. Not sure. ASMSA if anyone wants to goggle it.)

Good work, cecilia! My local police station has a box like a postal drop off inside the lobby to discard old meds. I'm hoping your progress means you are feeling better these days!

Having good days and bad days. Still having to take a nap most days because I am still having issues sleeping. Today has been a 'bad' day (fell, can't really put weight on one leg) so I am trying to sort stuff so I don't have to stand too much.

I've added a few things to my donate pile as I've been reorganising my scrapping stash.
My cat has recently started medication and no longer eats one flavour of cat food so I've added that to the buy nothing group as well and am just waiting for that to be collected.

My neighborhood had a garage sale on Saturday. I posted before about my ex boyfriend being a hoarder. I thought I had a few things to sell. Was I wrong. If I said I liked something, not only would he buy it, he would buy 50 more of the same thing. I filled my entire driveway, yard, and sidewalk with boxes of stuff. 95% is it is gone and a donation truck is coming Thursday for the rest.
I am embarrassed by the whole situation. I have never lived like that or needed to keep buying stuff. I am hyper aware of buying anything now. I think a lot about families who live with a hoarder and the constant battle to get rid of anything.
My closet just has clothes and shoes now. My garage has my car and one shelf of holiday decorations. Before, the garage was filled to the rafters with vintage stuff he bought to resell. My closet had bags of it, too. I can’t describe how great it is to park my car in my garage. It’s worth all my time and energy to make it happen!!!

I took a couple of hours today and decluttered. I see this thread come up daily and find it motivates me. Sometimes I keep pamphlets from craft fairs (checked one of them and they are out of business), shredded paperwork and recycled some more. Also recycled packaging from a couple of items.

I’ve packed enough boxes to warrant ordering the first pod moving container.
Work on the master bathroom starts tomorrow. Knowing the amount of dust the hallway bathroom reno kicked around the house, I’m working on decluttering the attached master bedroom today. This includes going through (and relocating) any clothes hanging in the closet. Today should be a busy day!

Back when we got out of one, we donated a ton of stuff to goodwill. It was mainly CDs and DVDs, which don't sell for us at current place or on eBay. That was during the summer. During the fall, we made another large donation of things that we had in booths for a while. I am trying to limit myself to one or two trips to thrift stores a month for I won't get overwhelmed. I had totes full of clothes to list (mainly paid $1 per item) that I donated in the fall. It felt good to get it gone.

I think a lot about families who live with a hoarder and the constant battle to get rid of anything. I have worked for many years with estate sale and auction companies. Going into some of these homes and seeing the level of clutter and hoarding that some people live with has certainly been motivating for me. I tend by nature to be very organized and love open spaces in my home, but seeing the contrast with their homes just pushes me even further to create my own peaceful environment. I know you must feel a sense of freedom at having gotten rid of so much! I'm proud of you.

this is not about me.. (decluttering has been on hold for a bit), but my child, who has autism, and has struggled all their life to be organized on anything, actually started by herself cleaning parts of her bedroom. I have a pile in the hallway of stuff they are getting rid of but.. starting anything, even just a walk outdoors, has been a major struggle. I'm so proud that anything happened!!

I touched or had eyeballs on every piece of clothing I own today. I was able to get a large outdoor sized trash bag full of clothes, shoes and purses together for donation. This feels good!

I need to go through my closet again. Been trying to toss undergarments that are no longer wearable as I find them in drawers. I wish my Mom would go through her clothes. She has baskets full of clothes and always complains she can't find anything to wear. She refuses to organize any of it. Yet she wants me to get rid of a bunch of my clothes. (More than what I want to). It gets frustrating.

Slight bit of decluttering- I finished reading a book I bought at the airport last month. I'll take it back in a few weeks and get a 50% refund with their buyback program. I've already resolved to not buy another book on that trip!

We had a couple paper shredders that didn't work any more. Moved them from in house storage to the 'dumpster pile'. Every year the town places dumpsters thought the city for residents to through away bulky/large items (mattress, chairs, etc. No lawn waste) for free. I think my Dad has 2 truck loads ready to go.
Looks like we are downsizing flea market booths soon. Don't know what we will do with extra stuff.
Jason (my cousin- his Mom is my aunt who died last year) is balking at dealing with all of the stuff she left behind. Don't know if he just isn't ready to or if it's him being irresponsible. (He couldn't pay for getting her cremated, can't buy a headstone but went and bought a truck about 3 weeks after she died/about 1 week after losing his job). He dumped a shit ton of stuff on my Aunt Stella, who's 80. (Stella is my Mom's and Aunt Kathy's oldest half sister). Aunt Stella in turn dumped about 5 boxes of stuff on us. No idea what we will do with it. It is all paper work and photos)

I didn’t make a big dent today, but I checked a lot of boxes. 1. Gifted a large dog bed that my dog is apparently too good for😂 2. Dropped off a bag of assorted envelopes to a teacher friend 3. Returned a history book that my son forgot to turn into his middle school last year 4. Returned a bag of wine carriers that we’ve collected over the years to a winery nearby. 5. Huge bag of wire hangers went to a dry cleaner (I brought in a sweater to have dry cleaned because we haven’t used a dry cleaner in ages)
I was going to drop off batteries a Home Depot but they no longer collect alkaline batteries, but found out I can bag them up and they can be collected with my trash.
I also started photographing some clothes I’ll be adding to Poshmark. Hoping to start listing tomorrow.

I cut up a bunch of t-shirts that I never wear for rags. I bet I purged at least a dozen over the last few weeks.
I also added a couple pair of pants to the donate box.

I finally got around to cleaning the garage. The open shelves and one tall storage cabinet have been decluttered and organized. I still have to go through the cabinet DH kept car cleaning supplies in and pack up a box for the guy that takes care of my cars. He’s more then happy to take it off my hands. That just leaves one big cabinet to clean out. It’s chilly and rainy so today would be a good day to get that done.

Looks like we only have 1 truck load for the free dumpster service the city is doing this weekend. My Dad said he has some totes that need to go but he isn't ready to put them in yet.
Part of me wishes they did the dumpsters 2x a year like the hazardous waste drop off. I can see why they only do it once a year. (Amount of stuff, takes away from paying customers at landfill).
I am still trying to get rid of scrapbook stuff Need to move all of the stuff I am saving to the shed and bring more stuff to sort to porch. Also need to go through all the stuff my Aunt Stella sent home. Looks like some of it is family tree stuff my Aunt Kathy printed out. I have no idea what we will do with that since my Mom already had copies.
