So what y'all are saying is that 4 sets of sheets for 1 bed are too many... To be fair, 2 are regular sets and 2 are flannel. Nope, you need to do what works for you and fits in your storage space. If you use them and have space, then keep whatever works for your lifestyle!

If you use them and have space, then keep whatever works for your lifestyle! I only have one set for each bed. I grew up with one set on the bed and the other in the closet. Now I only have one set per three beds and they are on the bed. My theory is if I only have one set, I'll wash it right away and put it back on with no folding. I've never had flannel sheets. But does it matter? Naw. If that works for you and the number of people who use the bed (and your seasons), then four is fine.

I am super happy so far with my progress although I’m at the point where it does become a bit exhaustive. I went through all the food cabinets and figured out a small system for my oddly apartment sized cabinets. Got rid of any expired or opened food that I couldn’t remember when it was opened (not a lot most stuff that got lost in the way way back).
I then started on the remaining dishes/small appliances/pot and pans. I threw out anything stained (severe) chipped cracked. Then set about to my 4 place settings. I did have to replace my dinner plates but ikea has really good ones cheap. I think I got rid of 1/2 to 1/3rd to the donate section on the couch. I have the junk drawer, under the sink cabinet and the entire fridge left but man everything is everywhere lol. When you have a small space, pulling out everything to sort makes it hard but I’m super close. I can put stuff back in this week after I do a scrub down of the cupboards
Hardest part ended up being my mason jars and my stainless steel cups. I’m still debating the cups as there are multiple sizes and I’m using them as main drinking glasses because they don’t sweat. I did have to buy a few replacements but nothing that adds to the pile. I think by the end of this month I can be done with the kitchen.

I have done something with tossing crap. Don’t remember what. LOL!
The closet where I keep my purses was to be the first thing tackled. However, it has come to my attention that I need to go through the scrapbooking stuff. Wanted to use my Quickutz Rev. yesterday. Do I even have the 12” inch platform? Where is it? Where are the alphas for the Quickutz handle thing? Let’s try the Cricket. Where is the power cord? Haven’t found that either. Guess what…there is another system similar to the Rev. Where is the shit that goes with it. Plus, it’s been so long since I have used my ink pads, they have lost their juiciness.
^^Why this? Hoped to use one of the above for lettering in my 2023 Bullet Journal. Ha!
In talking to my son this morning, he has decided he needs to go through his shirts. He has a Jack Skellington tee that is so threadbare you can see through both layers together. It is the first shirt he will grab when it has been laundered. He isn’t giving it up. 🤣
Can’t complain as he is really good about throwing other worn out clothing items in the trash.

I tacked my laundry room today. DH installed some wire baskets to place extra mop heads, cleaning supplies, etc. So that's one room off my list!

I took everything off the small shelf under the stairs at the top of the basement stairs. I found 3 boxes of large freezer bags and 4 boxes of sandwich bags. Obviously from Costco! I also found some stuff to throw away.

We keep 3 sets of linens because I am not convinced I am finished with my crime scene periods. We’ve actually used 3 sets in one evening before. My purging got derailed yesterday. (My Mom fell and was bleeding pretty bad so she ended up in the ER. She's back home after they cleaned up the wound and bandaged it pretty good). Today I am going to try to work on crafting stuff and going through my closet. I hope your mom is doing better today. My mom has gotten a lot “clumsier” the past few years (her words yesterday) and ends up with ginormous bruises. It’s scary isn’t it? Good luck with the crafting stuff!

That's weird. I tried to fix it but it won't take your name off, GypsyGirl. I deleted my post because I think i boo-booed using the quote feature.
I only have 1 set of sheets for each bed--wash and put back on the bed, no folding needed:) When kids were little, I had a 2nd set for each bed, but once was down to 1 kid, decided 1set per bed was enough.
I dropped off 3 bags and a box of stuff from my pantry and linen closet--tablecloths I just don't want anymore, glassware and some pottery items, mugs, and some other stuff. I was surprised that the items I put on FB marketplace sold so quickly. So yay! I have 3 empty shelves in my pantry, 1 empty shelf in my kitchen, and the linen closet looks a lot nicer.

Went through the last remaining boxes with dd today so I am finally finished with my whole house 2022 declutter journey. One last bag of rubbish, one last bag of donations, and a tub (regretfully) put back into the craft room. I would prefer if there was a lot less stuff in that tub but she is a creative child and is still little so that will have to do for now… no Pinterest worthy house for me 😂 But never fear peas, there is still much to declutter in the house! Including the desk in dhs room 🤦🏻♀️ that I just decluttered 🙄🫣😬

She's still pretty sore but feels a tad better. Will likely have to go to PCP or wound care daily to get bandage changed. We ended up getting 3 boxes of free books. Need to go through them ASAP. Going to try to use up scrapbook supplies. Found a home for scrapbook paper I don't want. It's going to a family friend/former teacher. She went through a rough year health wise herself and I am just going to give it to her since I was going to donate the stuff anyway. I also need to take recycling off

I got rid of 2 bags of crap out of the guest room and there is still more to go. I am happy though. Some was straight garbage and some stuff for donation. There is another box I am going through that can all be donated. Ok that is done and one final box of music and crap that needs to get donated. Then I am done. I did great today!

Ok I got rid of a lot more and am happy. Things are great. So much stuff to donate or throw away or recycle. Yay!!! This has taken me months to do! The dog was trying to get it on with me while I was going through stuff.
I am so happy. I am giddy the stuff is gone! I even got rid of the lamp I hate. How cool is that?
I will admit I have a bit of help from cannabis on board, but if this is now my superpower I am game to use at noon and get rid of more. Father was impressed as well. Yay!!!!

I took off some of the recycling today. Need to take the rest off ASAP. Did get 4 bags of plastic out of the house/off property so that's good.
I also need to take plastic shopping bags to flea market we have booths in. They reuse them instead of buying new ones. (Part of me is glad they reuse them, part of me wishes they would buy new ones because they don't know what's been in the old ones).
Got home from therapy and errands recently. Going to try to use up scrapbook supplies and toss stuff since trash day is Thursday. Did use broken Iris case as a 'trash bag' and threw a bunch of stuff away in it.

Hi Peas! Today I got rid of 3 big bags of stuff out of Dad’s Storage. We only have so much capacity for garbage and recycle but I got rid of tons today. Father is most pleased. Once garbage comes I can start back at it. I could have gotten rid of more but I was in pain and had no room.

So last night before bed because I was on a great roll I found 15 tops that are ancient that can be donated today. I have not even put a dent into the stuff we have. I am just motivated to do it now and it is all getting done bit by bit. I am pretty happy, though!

Happy to say my craft room and the office have both been cleaned and decluttered. All the boxes that had accumulated in the garage from Amazon orders have been cut up and put in the recycle bin. So far today I’ve cleaned out the spice cabinet, the pantry and working on the fridge and freezer. Good thing trash collection doesn’t have to physically pickup the cans to empty them.

My Mom fell (again) and had to be taken to the ER (again). This time she fell out of bed and hit her head and had some bleeding.
So while I am up waiting to hear from her or my Dad, going to try to get some stuff done at the house. (I am the last person you would want taking care of you when you don't feel good or hurt. Zero patience, get frustrated easily, no filter when that happens. For real. The EMTs that have been out here this week have been saints in that regard). I know she's going to have a CT scan done, not sure what else.
Going to try to sit outside and work on tossing stuff.

It has been a few years since I've posted at all, and this thread is exactly what I need! I have two weeks off during the holidays so I attacked DH's closet. He is retired now and doesn't need all those dress pants, shirts, ties and such. I did ask him first if he wanted to help go through anything, and he did for about 15 minutes and finally said - you just go ahead because I'll have no idea what you donate because I really don't know what I have! YES!
This weekend I'm tackling my laundry room while defrosting my large freezer.
I've been slowly getting rid of things as my goal is for us to downsize sometime over the next two years before I retire. I had to clean out my Mom's house before settling her into Assisted Living and I do not want our daughter's to have that burden!
I love reading all your tips and hope to keep up with everyone!

Still trying to purge craft supplies. been pricing stuff for booths too so I can get it down to flea market. Sometimes it feels like we are just paying them a storage fee for our stuff.
I think my Dad has went through most of the books we picked up Sunday. He has listed a couple and are taking some to the booth. Not sure what he is planning on doing with the rest of them. Maybe donate to Goodwill. I still need to take eBay dead stock clothes and whatever I pull out of my closet so if he has books I can take them too.
I have a coupon for a free Axe product that expires on the 31st. That's the brand of hygiene items I put on the stocking I do for volunteer group for disadvantaged teens. I don't know if I need to use it and store the item or just let it expire and buy the item later. I mean, I already have Christmas presents for my Mom set back, so what's one little thing to add to the pile?
I need to wash clothes this weekend. My Dad threw away one of the towels my Mom used to stop the bleeding from her lip Thursday morning. Her CT scan came back clear. Has stitches in her mouth and chin is pretty bruised. Still not sure how we are going to keep her from falling.
I want to try to get as much organized before the 2nd as I can. That is when documentary film screening starts so that will take up a lot of time.

Still not sure how we are going to keep her from falling. Going to sound strange but my husbands grandmother was falling out of bed so they used a child’s bed rail to stop it from happening like this one: www.target.com.au/p/dreambaby-harrogate-bed-rail-white/63695212You can remove it and take it/use it on other beds too if she ever travels for any reason inc medical appointments etc

I tackled my pantry yesterday. It was horrifying! The stuff that just collects when it can't be seen, lol. And while I was in the kitchen, I also cleaned out and reorganized 2 cupboards and one kitchen drawer.
Slowly, it'll get done. Next Friday its the two lower kitchen cupboards. I don't use those much and they haven't been reorganized since I moved into this house 6 years ago.

I tackled a box of the stuff that was on my work desk. We moved to hot desking last year and when I cleaned out my desk I threw everything in a box and basically left it there. I sorted through it this morning, recycled some papers and rehomed some basic stationery that I didn't realise was in there.

I tackled something today that’s been on my list forever. I wiped my desktop computer for my daughter and installed a wireless router. I hadn’t used it except to update it since I got a laptop a few years ago. All that freed up space on my desk and all of the wires, etc., off of the floor! More room for scrapbooking although I’m mainly digital these days.
I use an old entertainment center for scrapbook storage but I’ve cleaned so much out of it that it’s almost empty. I tried to give it away but no one wants them anymore even if they are free.
Gosh, decluttering feels so great!

I have lost motivation to organize. I am just exhausted. The last 18 months or so have been so draining.
I am going to remember to take the recycling off this week. Should have went to town with my Dad yesterday so we could tag team and get it done. (The city recycling center has it set up where you have to separate plastic by types, different bins for different metals, different paper products, etc. County one you just dump it in bins by general type).
I have a pile of stuff that needs to go to she shed. She Shed has a bunch of our marking stuff for booths. We have some stuff I have no idea what I will use for since we don't sell the stuff I bought the tags for.
Did get paper out to the compost pile. Need to get cow manure to put on top of it.
Still not going to Goodwill. Everytime I pass by the 'old' one it is packed. Sundays are $1 Day and I was spending $40 to $50 every Sunday at one point.
