Today Mum collected ALL her tubs we had used to store household items in while we did our whole house renovation. And yes they were all empty š My sister came with her and I slipped her a tool we have had stored in our garage for twenty years and never used that she wantedā¦another item out of the house!
I officially fit all of my dishes etc in the kitchen cupboards instead of storing them somewhere else.
That freed up space from the dishes etc I repurposed to store the Christmas village my aunt gifted to me - I like it but donāt know I want to keep it (I have a large Disney Christmas ornament collection of my own) so I might set the village up this Christmas and then sell it next Christmas (sheās okay with me doing so.) All of that took me a whole day to do. And it looks like nothing really happened BUT I know how much better it all is now.

My sister introduced me to the greatest App. Itās called Recipe Gallery and cost $2.99. apps.apple.com/us/app/recipe-gallery/id634675138This is a game changer! I have a cabinet full of cook books and of course I use a few favorite recipes from each book. Iām taking pictures of the recipe and importing it into the App which backs up to the Cloud. My daughter bought it too and the three of us have been sharing recipes all day. You can even put a picture with it. It looks just like a printed cookbook! When Iām finished copying my recipes Iām getting rid of my cookbooks. You can even take pictures of handwritten recipes (like from my Mom) and Iāll have her handwriting forever)! Plus, since the recipes are on your phone you can check for needed ingredients while grocery shopping.

I haven't been focusing on decluttering, although I really need to, but am doing the random "that can go" as I walk past things that I no longer want. Today I added three small photo frames to my donate bag.

I made a stack of to go books and maybe to go books.. and put all the rest of the books back in the new bookcase. now just need family to to look at them and confirm which are to go.
and then went through a stack of albums doing the same split. I love my new bookcase.. sturdy with big space between shelves and they all match. I have one more bookcase to fill
I threw out some more slides and sorted some to get digitized.

We went to The Salvation Army today and got rid of tons. I am really glad we got rid of that stupid lamp. I hated that lamp. I also gave my jacket to the cleaning ladies. They knew someone who could use it. Yay!!!

Can't sleep again so I am trying to declutter my room.
Still need to contact DME company to see what I need to do with CPAP on recall. I took some recycling off last week. Need to take rest off Thursday after appointment.
We have used up some of the wound care supplies I got after my skin surgery 3+ years ago for my Mom's wound. Bad thing is home health ordered her 4 boxes of supplies that we didn't have and she's now about to be discharged. Guess we will keep it just in case.
I signed up for the 'Bash Bowl' in the Bash Your Scrapbook Stash Facebook group. It's making me try to use up supplies I have been hoarding.
I need to continue to get ready for swap meets starting next month. There's one in Little Rock I am tempted to try out.

I was working on my craft room yesterday and decided to get rid of some more fabric I've had too long. I measured each piece and put length on a sticky paper on fabric, took a picture of all of it and posted for sale as a lot on FB marketplace. Within an hour it was bought and gone--25 yds out of my room (though honestly, you can't tell by looking). And today I decided to clean out the liquor cabinet--boy, the recycle guy is going to think we had a big old party here! I emptied--poured down the sink, not drank, haha! some stuff nobody really likes (which is why it's still there) and some really old stuff that per Google was only good 4-6 months after opening (I know it's been there much longer than that). And now I'm working on drinking some Moscato--to further the declutter cause, of course!

it is not my house, but I spent 2 hours at a closed church going through stuff to get rid of.. I came across of a pastor's from a long long time ago--all the family memories in it. it was sad to get rid of it. this was because I am on a committee and I need to contribute to the effort to repurpose the building. there is no energy to find whoever it would go to.. this stuff has been there 20 or more years. It got me in the mood to throw away more stuff and to label all my family stuff and organize it.

I need to work on laundry. I can get it washed and dried, just not up.
Going to take recycling off tomorrow.
My Dad found someone to take all the Western books he had. He is going to mail them off tomorrow.

Took 3 big bags of clothing to our local consignment store. Iām using the Dana K White method of decluttering and Iām loving it - because it doesnāt make a bigger mess and you can stop or start anywhere anytime. (She has vids on YouTube)

Bit the bullet and have ordered carpet for our upstairs - living room, den, hallway and 3 bedrooms. The carpet is 20 years old and although it has held up very very well we need to replace because 3 years ago we removed the wall between our living room and 4th bedroom (now the den) and the space where the wall was is filled in with temporary carpet pieces that don't match. I have been putting this off for the last 3 years because the thought of moving everything to get the carpet laid is exasperating.
Sooooo I have one month to get all of these rooms, dressers, closets etc. decluttered so we have less to move.
So I am working my way through our dressers & closets and purging clothes! It actually feels very good and not as difficult as I imagined.

I cleaned out my desk drawer tonight. It wasn't planned, I was under the desk trying to work out if my external hard drive plug had been knocked out, and when I glanced up I saw stuff spilling out the back of the drawer. I tossed some folders that have seen better days, pulled out several folders I am unlikely to use and had forgotten were even there, and moved a file of paperwork I need to keep into my filing cabinet.

We need to replace ours as well and I am dreading it for the same reason. I keep telling myself I should ramp up the decluttering so it will be easier when we get to replacing the flooring but it just seems like an impossibly large task. Good luck getting through everything!

Good luck getting through everything! I am working really hard to get the rooms de-cluttered because the furniture moving, tear out (done by my DH & DS) and carpet laying (done by professionals) is being done the weekend/week that I am in Cancun on a girls trip (my DS wife will be with me) so I feel a tad bit guilty leaving it all to them. They both seem fine with it so I'm doing my best to get it as ready as possible before I leave. will be amazing to come home to new carpet though!!

After organizing my kitchen cabinets and under the sink in the master bath a few weekends ago I am all in on getting the rest of the house done. I bought drawer organizers for my bathroom and am excited to try them tomorrow.
I still just open my cabinets to look at the food in the clear organizers. Our plates and bowls were in a double cabinet and I decided that we donāt need all of them and was able to condense down to a single cabinet.
This is so freeing.

I spent $50ish at Goodwill Thursday. One thing is going to the booth, around 10 things will be listed and then taken to shed. The Christmas wrapping paper was a spur of the moment buy. Couldn't pass up 4 full rolls for $1.50 total.
Also got 5 full bottles of RugDr cleaner at GW for close to the price of what 1 gallon would cost at whatever store they were bought at. (Had original sticker of $17.99. Bought 3x $4.99, 1x$2.49 and 1x$1.99). Also bought a toy for rescue dog and a pan to keep his bones/treats in so they aren't all over the back porch.
We are currently having water issues (Major leak, turning water off at meter during night time) so I can't wash clothes when I can't sleep right now. Crossing fingers it gets fixed next week. Going to take all day since they have to dig a new trench.
Still trying to get rid of craft stuff I don't need. Thinking if I don't sell it at swap meet, I will donate it to art studio or school.

I cleaned out under my bathroom sink yesterday. It was more a matter of organizing it all so I can see what I have, not tossing anything this time.

Just sold four unwanted ikea metal cube containers we no longer needed on eBayā¦ four to go! Now if only theyād finish the flooring in my kitchen and someone could magically finish the painting (oh, thatās right, I said Iād do it to save some cashā¦seemed good at the timeā¦) so we can get the plumbing to the sink done so we can use everything instead of washing up in the laundry thatād be great. But thatās a Monday job for me to start annoying tradies. So close to being complete and THEN I can finally put everything back in under the sink.

Now that most of the asset division is complete and xh took what he wanted, I am in a place I can start this.
It will be little by little, inch by inch.
I'd love to start in the garage, but it is cold, so I'll likely start in the spare bedroom that has been the dumping ground for everything. There was literally a path on th floor, but not a big one. He too some stuff out of there and now I can move around and manipulate things in there.

Yesterday was move the furniture to vacuum in my bedroom day. It has been awhile since I have been well enough to do anything of this magnitude.
Today, I am debating the revisit of a closet or sorting through the storage room.

Working on my closet still. Need a better way to store blankets. (I hoard blankets. Think I get it from my Grandma, who grew up during the depression, and that we went without power for about 2.5 weeks during a two month span due to major ice storm).
Taking off recycling tomorrow. Still trying to work through craft stuff too

Wednesday our furnace, hot water heater and air conditioner leaves. New replacements are coming of course but this wasnāt what I had in mind when I said I wanted to start on the basement. Good news is that my hubby came down and got involved and itās looking a lot better. We still have a ways to go though.
To quote my Mom and Dad, in their later years whenever they had to replace a car, refrigerator, whatever, they would say āthis is the last one we will ever have to buy!ā Now Iām saying that. š

Just threw away a stamp set I have had for a decade plus. It had gotten moldy somehow so I tossed them. Same with a stamp ink pad.
Took recycling off today. Trying to get more trash together for Thursday. I didn't get sleep last night so I don't know how much more I will get done

Soā¦ I think dh is starting to really enjoy decluttering too! He just listed for sale something he had a duplicate of without me even asking, and he is a major keeper of all the things so I was shocked. And dd has kept her room pretty much spotless since we repainted, decluttered and organised it all as she says it feels more like hers so sheās more motivated. My heart just went crazy after hearing that! There is hope all peas out there living with clutterers and hoarders. Take the steps, show them how you make the hard decisions, and little by little they will start to reevaluate their stuff too.

So, I'm hoping to get an Ikea Kallax shelving unit for my birthday in March. I'm planning to use it as a hutch on top of a table that I'm looking forward to using as my craft table. Unfortunately, the table is in my basement under boxes of stuff that have been here for WAY too long. Today, I cracked open the boxes and organized, donated and pitched. Want to know how long it's been since I collected all those boxes and the items within? Well, let's just say there was a "tear bear" tutorial included in the clippings. I guess it doesn't matter how long it's all been there, as long as it's mostly gone now!

Planning on staying home tomorrow to work on documentaries and cleaning my room.
Did throw away some highly stained stuff from the back porch today. Had been meaning to do it and finally did.
Still feels weird not going to Goodwill on Sundays. Sundays are $1 Day at Arkansas ones. I would spend $50 or $60 on stuff. Weekly. Still working on donate boxes next time I go. Have 3 bags of clothes, some boxes of books and some odds and ends.

Have made a lot of progress on my room. It is supposed to rain/storm here Thursday so I may wait to finish it up then.
Been trying to use up and toss scrapbook supplies. Managed to use up 3 or 4 ink pads.
