Probably won't get one for a little while as I want to be sure and get a good one-- so if it's a little costly one that's ok I want quality. Obviously I don't want to spend more than necessary though, but for a good one.
It's me and ds who is almost 25. Our schedules are opposite so rarely ever here together so doesn't have to be gigantic, but we might sometimes both be here to eat so does need to be big enough for that. Needs to not be super complicated to use, I guess none of them are though..
I like the look of the Drew Barrimore line, but are they good? I don't usually jump on things from celebrities, but that line is so 😍 Also know the ninja brand is well like, but I'm not opposed to other brands. Almost bought a gourmia a few weeks ago but funds were low..
And is it needed to have divided basket or not?

we have a Cosori. the big squarish one. i like that ours has a perforated basket within the solid basket and not just one basket with a grill stand at the bottom.
i prefer no divided basket. we don't have a need for it. i guess you could always put a foil barrier if you wanted to divide the basket.

I have a Ninja basket style and I love it because it is easy to clean. They also make a dual-basket style but it’s bigger than I want for my kitchen. I use it at least 3 times a week, usually more.

We have the ninja with 2 baskets. You can set the baskets with different temps and times and sync them so they complete at the same time. We really like this feature.

Okay - said in a massively huffy voice, I got one for Christmas. I didn't ask for one, and when it came up as a suggestion, I begged off of it. I have no place to store it, I don't want to find a place to store it, as storage, or lack thereof is scarce at my house - that's a whole other issue. I'm not terribly keen on cooking and though I do it well, so I hear, it's a fucking chore I hate! There, I said it. I was gifted an Instant Pot a couple of years ago, I've used it less than a handful of times. While I know these appliances are supposed to be time savers that make all of these delicious things, I have zero desire to go and look up recipes and figure out how to do all of the things. Grr.
Sorry, vent over. I got a Ninja.

I also have a Ninja basket style. It's great. Mostly it's just me and DH. Once I realized I could quickly cook chicken or roast veggies in it and have them turn out great, it was game on. malibou I wish I could come to your house and show you a few quick things. It's so easy to throw some protein or veggies in there and have a great dinner in a few minutes. No fancy recipes or techniques required. Great for those who don't like to cook. My oldest asked for an air fryer/toaster oven combo for Christmas and so far she loves it.

Cook is a four letter word at my house. That being said, right before Christmas I bought the Ninja Flip. My oven is an inaccurate old thing. I love the Flip. Mainly for things like fish sticks, tater tots...But Sams has these cool non refrigerator pizza kits, just a soft precooked crust and sauce. They fit perfect and we can fix them like we each want.

Cosori 5.8 quart. I have tried a couple of larger air fryers with a divided basket and they didn't work nearly as well.

I got a sweet deal on this one a few weeks ago when a Bed Bath and Beyond near me was closing. I need to take it out of the box lol. It will never sit on my counter so Ill have to lug it up and down the stairs when I want to use it.

Just put some food in there and walk away. I use it most often for vegetables (including fries), and chicken.

I gave away my big square Cosori for a newer big square Cosori. : ) The new one is the Dual Blaze 6.8 quart and has heating from the top and bottom so there’s no preheating and no flipping/stirring partway through. It’s also easier to clean.
But I loved the first one too.
Customer service is outstanding and the warranty two years. I once contacted them with a question and the rep offered a replacement even though I hadn’t asked for one and didn’t need one.
Both Cosori and Amazon sell them.
When I got the first air fryer, I watched Fabulessly Frugal’s youtube videos to learn to use it.. She does in depth reviews and lots of recipes, plus has a blog with recipes. Whatever you decide, enjoy!

I also recommend Cosori. I researched them before I purchased and we love it. I also have 2 Cosori electric kettles, also awesome. Good, reliable brand.

I have two Cuisinart air fryers, one at home and one at the cabin. We started out with a basket style (different brand) at home and really liked it. Then we got the first Cuisinart oven style air fryer so we’d have one at the lake cabin too. We liked it so much we bought a second one for home and gave away the smaller basket style fryer. We got both of them from Costco on sale for $159 each. I like that the basket is wider and flat so you don’t need to shake the food. Smaller stuff like fries cook without flipping, bugger things like frozen chicken nuggets or strips or fish fillets just need to be flipped once so they get crispy on both sides.

I got a Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven while we were remodeling our kitchen in 2021. We put it through it's paces. I cooked whole meals for DH and me in it. It not only does air fry; it broils, bakes, convection bakes, and toasts.

On those days when no one really wants to cook we can make a pizza from frozen to table in less than ten minutes.

We eat a lot of roasted vegetables, so I'll start there, and then perhaps I can try a chicken. Do you cook a whole chicken, cut it into parts, or just use chicken breasts or legs?

I've done boneless breasts and thighs, and I think wings (bone-in, obviously). I'm not sure my basket is large enough for a whole chicken. Bone-in parts should be fine, though.

gracieplusthree, I'm sorry I was bitchy on your thread. That was unkind of me and certainly unnecessary. Thank you to everyone that posted all of the ideas, I've settled down and will make sure I get it out and give it a try. Thanks for grounding me you guys.

It is just me so I don’t need anything huge. I have a ninja that flips up because I don’t have a lot of counter space. I love that it flips up, but I haven’t used it yet so I can’t recommend it for anything other than a great flip. 😆

When I was researching to buy a new air fryer/toaster oven, Cosori was consistently recommended. Cuisinart was also frequently recommended.
I ended up with a KitchenAid. My decision was based on reviews, but also on size, because I did need it to sit on the counter but didn’t want it to be ginormous. It needed to fit under the cabinets, not stick out way too far and not be terribly wide.
I’ve been happy with it and now I have one appliance instead of three (got rid of round basket air fryer, toaster oven and toaster).

DS asked for one for Christmas last year and I bought him the same model and it's been well-used by DS, me and DH. Probably have to buy him another new one when he moves out Target had good prices plus GC offers when it would go on sale last year.

I have the Cuisinart toaster oven style one. It is great, but I just bought a new one to replace it bc I hate how big and bulky it is on my counter. I bought the Drew Barrymore one in white from Walmart. It arrives today so we'll see how it performs.

just brought the Ninja SP101 Digital Air Fry Countertop Oven because it flipped when not in use I have 2 of these! I love it so much that we bought a 2nd one for our cabin. I wanted this style because you can bake a frozen pizza in it, make sheet pan meals and air fry (along with dehydrate and many other settings). I bought them at Kohl's for about $130 each when there was a sale.
