Do you scrap Valentine's Day layouts? How about making Valentine's Day cards? Or other Valentine's Day crafts? If you do, are you buying new stuff or planning to craft from stash? If you're buying something new, what supplies are you loading up on for Valentine's Day this year? What are you planning to do with them? Just curious...

No, we rarely do anything special for Valentine's Day. DH and I make a point of having a date night in Feb, but many times Valentine's falls when we are on our annual ski vacation (President's weekend).
I have a few Valentine papers in my stash, literally 3-4, and have such a hard time using them. Yes I could use them other times of the year but they always feel very gushy and I'm not a gushy person.

I did a couple LOs when the kids were little and we did fun things like bake a special cake, etc. Nothing really exciting happens on Valentines Day anymore lol

Seriously. I get what you mean about some of those supplies feeling gushy. Yes, they totally do.

Those sound like amazing memories! I get what you're saying about nothing really exciting happening any more. Yep. Although that is the case here, too, I still enjoy making Valentine's Day cards (not necessarily for my DH, who isn't sentimental and could care less -- but I do like making them for my friends).

I have little kids so yes we make Valentines crafts and they send Valentines to school. I put pictures of us assembling the Valentines bags last year in my PL. My husband & I usually exchange cards so that is included. If we are lucky we get a date night to include lol.
I saw someone on Ig, can’t remember who, who cut out hearts and wrote things they love about their kid everyday in February. She put them on the child’s bedroom door. I loved it and want to do that this year.

I do scrapbook Valentine-ish activities. Usually my partner and I will go for a date night around Valentine's day and I'll use some of the love themed supplies for that. In past years I did some design team work for a LSS and had been given supplies to work with. This year I will use some stash. I have a few pieces of Simple Stories Sweet Talk that need to make it into an album, and I have my beloved Crate Paper Love Notes that I have been saving. I'm still not sure I'm ready to use Love Notes yet--it's been marinating in my stash for a decade and I love it so much that I want to make sure I have the right photos.
I haven't scrapped for last year yet, but in 2021 I did a big cut file wreath of hearts and backed it in paper that was covered with Paige Evans washi tape. It was less theme-y but still bright and fun.

I usually scrap our Valentine's date but since that only amounts to 1 page usually (sometimes just a couple of pockets in a PL page protector) I don't have a need for Valentine's specific collections - I just use something heart or love-related from my stash.

usually but just a picture of DD with her chocolates and maybe one of our decor. DH and I really don't do anything to celebrate.
Not buying valentine stuff though - I don't think I actually ever have ...I've had some that came in big paper pads in the past that I've used or I just use cardstock

Back when I was with my ex and starved for attention and affection, Valentine's Day was a possible way for me to maybe get a date or some quality time, so yes, it was very important to me and was always scrapped if we did something. I also did crafts with the kids, etc. Now that I'm with a partner who loves me & shows me he loves me every single day, it's not as important to me. We also have every other weekend to ourselves when my kids are with their dad so we don't necessarily have a Valentine's-specific date since we go out on dates regularly, anyways. I use Valentine's-themed things all year 'round as I am VERY gushy.

I did when my kids were young and I was a 12x12 scrapper. Now I typically include a Valentine’s Day story in a pocket or two of my project life. Last year I think I took a picture of a shirt I loved at target that was funny to me and dh and I went out for dinner and bowling. I just use the AE kits I’m subscribed to and supplement from my stash.

Our anniversary is the week after VD. We usually just buy something for the house and go out for dinner to celebrate. I don't have pictures to scrap from that.

Not much use for Valentine themed scrappy supplies here. I make one card per year, for my dh. And I have made one LO of us out to brunch on the coldest Valentines' Day on record. Last year my dgs wanted help making Valentines for his class, so we figured out some punny sayings for the stamps and dies and stencils I owned and he inked and glued everything together and signed them. I made a LO about that! LOL aMOOSEing wishes by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

We don't really celebrate valentine's day, so nothing to scrap there. Last year I participated in the 2peas valentine card exchange (and am doing again this year) so I will at least have one themed layout to do once I take a group photo of all the cards received. I signed up for a valentine card exchange on IG, too. My guess is I will need 25-35 cards, so I'm well on my way with 26 cards made so far. Last year I picked up some of the Simple Stories valentine collection as I really liked the colors. I made 10 cards using it last week. The rest of the cards were made using an old Doodlebug collection that I have no idea how it ended up in my stash. Maybe from an old SCT sampler??

I used to do art trading card swaps and other art swaps and had so much fun with it. Thanks for the link to the 2Peas Valentine card exchange; I somehow missed seeing that. I will check it out. re the Doodlebug, I have a couple of random packs of Doodlebug embellishments that were Scrapbook.com freebies, but not a whole collection of them. I"m not sure what an SCT sampler is, but it sounds interesting.

Ironically, it does not look like you used Valentine-themed supplies to make it, but the supplies you chose are perfect for that particular page.

I hope you'll find a match between papers and photos so you can get them out of your stash and into your photo albums (assuming that's what you want... I think it's also totally Okay to keep them as papers, if that is what makes you happy. ) Your heart wreath sounds amazing. That is a cute idea! Thanks for sharing it.

We don't usually do much for Valentine's Day. My husband will cook up some delicious steaks and I just wait patiently and stuff my face when it is ready. So it is a good day for me, ha!
I don't purchase Valentine's Day specific paper lines, though. I am not a huge fan of red in general and a lot of those collections are not my taste. I think I have 3 sheets of Valentine's Day paper, all from the early 2000's.

I do scrap Valentine’s Day. One year dh even made me a Valentine’s Day layout as his gift to me.
Last year we had snow on Vday. He and my daughter made me a snow heart in our yard and colored it red. I scrapped a photo of them standing next to the heart all bundled up.
I also make cards and send them to friends/family. I didn’t buy anything new this year. But, plan to do Vday themed cards using the Jan 2023 Sheetload of cards process. A friend is coming over to make Vday cards with me.

I bought some of the Bella Blvd 'Our Love Song' collection this year. I like it because my daughter has outgrown class Valentines parties and now I don't take many Valentines photos, but this collection is good for teen pages and not necessarily Valentines Day.

Thanks for the head's up on this! Sounds like a fun collection. I will check it out. I fell in love with the embellishments from the Simple Stories Heart Eyes collection, but not really with the papers. I don't particularly need any Valentine's Day anything, but I LOVE red, pink, and white pretties and always enjoy looking at the collections. If I do buy a few things, I will for sure use them at least to make cards, if not for scrapping.

Yes, but am neither a theme nor collection scrapper. I exclusively scrapbook & purchase patterned papers by the sheet, usually for the classic patterns (e.g. plaids, stripes, dots) on the reverse, & few embellishments. I do, however, include a heart somewhere on every layout in our son's albums.

I forgot to mention, I've also made "Galentine's Day" Cards for my girlfriends. (Galentine's Day is a reference from the show Parks and Rec, where it's like Valentine's Day but you celebrate the ladies in your life, and it's on Feb 13) I've used various bits and pieces from many lines, not all Valentine's Day lines, for these cards. My favorite line for this in the past was Photoplay "No Pun Intended." I haven't made any cards this year, though.
