After having been our troop’s cookie mom back in the day and seeing how little of the cookie money actually goes to the troop or even the council, I soured a lot on the “good cause.” It seems to be mostly making money for cookie companies.
But I still buy a box from every girl at school who asks. Those we don’t want go in the lounge at school.

I teach at an elementary school and get hit up by a LOT of current and former students. Add in friends girls and I set my limit at one box per girl!

I've never seen someone selling GS cookies door to door. Only outside grocery stores. Honestly if I don't want any I don't buy any. If I do, I usually buy 3 boxes.

The past 2 years, I have ordered online from the daughters of one of ds' high school teachers and has them shipped. This year, shipping isnt available, so I guess Im just picking them up at Lowes. They do freeze well.

Girl Scouts isn’t super popular here. I had years where I would happily order 15 boxes from someone, but they’d never deliver. Now I buy them whenever I see them outside a store, which ends up only being once every couple of years.

All the hard work of planning these cookie sales and getting parents to help the kids with their booth sales, the storing, sorting and distributing boxes to each scout, the amount of work needed to be successful… it boggles the mind. The troops should get twice the amount of money they receive for doing all the work, but they don’t. They’re lucky if they get 5-10 cents on a box. That said, I do buy them when I see them.

2-4 boxes depending on how well I know the scout. Only if asked by the scout, I don’t count mom’s share on Facebook. They make great hostess gifts or a fun tray to put out for your own guests.
Yes, Aldi makes knockoffs for less than half price but that’s not the point! The scouts have heard ALL the complaints about the prices and have no control over it.
If you don’t eat cookies they’ll accept $5 direct to the troop and they get 100% of that.

As an interested observer- how much are these cookies? I'm not sure if the prices vary by region, but I paid $5.00 per box. One variety has 32 cookies, another only 14 in the box.

No plan. DH got 3 yesterday from a co-worker. If they ask, we’ll buy.

As an interested observer- how much are these cookies? I think last year they were $6 a box here but I could be mistaken since DH bought them.

Our daughter's friend used to sell them but she is in college now, so we don't get to buy them. We would only buy a few boxes as we don't have an extra freezer, so we couldn't freeze them. But we are so bad, we would have eaten them all at once anyways! They are so good!

My husband was a boy scout so he will give a donation when we see boy scouts at a store. We haven't had a boy scout come door to door in years.

Aldi sells knock-offs of knock-offs LOL. Keebler makes the first-level knock-off, and Aldi sells knock-offs of those.
