Caution is smart.
Last Friday I had to call a client back on my personal phone because the electricity went out when we were in mid-conversation. I blocked my number. Did not expect them to answer. Did leave a message regarding the circumstances and that I would call on Monday via the office phone.

Super smart. I work at a bank and deal with fraud daily. I’m always teaching clients to literally hang up and then call the number on the back of their card/call the branch etc. You just can’t be too careful anymore. Never call the number the person gives you, never give personal info unless you yourself called the correct known number. Basically trust no one that calls, sadly, lol but those that follow my advice haven’t been frauded.
